Sorry, I couldn't help myself, but post that song.:-)
Funny to see but not to endure. It's monsoon season here. Not much to do if you get 3 inches of rain a day. Tiki hut fever?

Often times(like now) you can't even get a good signal through the air, much less by sat.. Surprised the net has a signal.

Hey Rube.... Y'all should be coming into your spring soon. We are getting ready for autumn/fall here. The hot, muggy summer temps are a thing of the past and the cool mornings make for perfect squirrel hunting weather.

The snowbirds must have seen the long range forecast..... The weather folks are calling for above average snow for this winter. Which really don't say crap about the coming winter. I'll wait for the 7 day forecasts.
High 30's in Wyoming this morning. winter is on its way!!
High for the day, low 60's.

Hello Oki - and all the other friendlies who visit this thread :)

Yes, Spring has arrived, we're already experiencing Summer temperatures, so it's bound to be a very hot Summer too. Mornings and evenings are still a little cool, but not so cold that you need to put on a jacket or something. Actually quite nice. Temperature today is going to be 31 (87.8). The only thing I dislike about Summertime is that the sun is more "lethal" and that results in easy sunburn. I just have to look at the sun and I get burned.

Ok, it's not THAT bad, but I do burn very easily, and end up looking like a tomato. But I can't wear sunscreen all the time, as it makes my skin feel sticky and oily. The precaution I take is to stay out of the sun between 10am and 3pm, and if it really cannot be avoided then I put on sunscreen, like when I go horseriding in the mornings :)

I love Springtime though, as everything is turning green. And with the warmer temps comes rain. I love the rain but sometimes it's a little inconvenient, since I don't ride when the ground is wet and muddy. The horses tend to slip a lot then, and it's just not very pleasant. But I will never complain about the rain. I'd rather be a little inconvenienced than not have rain at all. We've had a dry Winter though, lots of dust in the air. Can't wait for rain, to wash everything clean again :)

morning everybody, or evening as the case may be depending on location.
I ordered a chart group off amazon. For region 9 & 10.
After nearly a day figuring out how to down load the zip, turns out the charts are from the 60's!
Absolutely worthless. But ... they refunded the cost the day after I told them.
Parts keep showing up too. Installed new fuel cut-off cable yesterday. One of the rare days without rain. Still pretty warm though. I do see colder temps in the Northern plains, better weather on the way, the end of monsoon season. Which means the beginning of snow-bird.

Waxing nostalgic, I remember cool fall nights. standing in the yard with the hunting dogs. Silent, but you could hear the geese winging south. Looking carefully one could make them out against the stars or moon. A chilling sound from several thousand feet, not like a wolf, but close.
Ominous ... a sure sign of change.

Late yesterday evening, around dusk, there were many flocks of geese flying South. You could see the "V"s strung out, with as many as couple hundred in a string. Pretty to see but ominous where weather is concerned. Flying a few weeks earlier than usual. Haven't seen the Starlings yet but if the geese are moving its only a matter of days.

I remember cold days with sleet driven before a blowing wind, sitting in a duck blind, waiting. Putting the boat in under dark skies, to get to an island. Good memories, but don't want to do it again. Beautiful birds indeed, but the best tasting were the ones that had fed in the mint fields.
Fall and harvest time was joyous for us. Made Thanksgiving something special.
Alas ... no longer.

'Tween summer vacation and school sports you really are tied up. Well there may be rest in the future for you. IF they leave home.

I hear they have casinos and stuff there. Not the place to rest. I'm heading to the Keys next week.Kill some lion fish, do some diving. exercise the boat as I get ready for the trip.
