Yeah that is right. You sit bumper to bumper until you reach your destination. I left extra early today and got to work in under 40 minutes. So leaving at 5:15am is a winner. Depends which way you look at it I suppose ???????... Not everyone wants to get up so early.
Wow, that's crazy! But I guess you gotta do what you gotta do to get to work on time...

Sounds like the ideal situation to be in not having to tackle the traffic. Your working hours sound great. I work very early in the day but I do have to face the rat-race when I leave the office at 5:00am. Traffic deluxe....... But going home is very different to getting to work..... more relaxed.
Yeah, I work awesome hours. I can count the times I sat in traffic on one hand.

The latest I've arrived at the office was 08:10. That was on one of the days they were transporting Madiba's body to the union building. Metro police stopped traffic and I saw the hearse drive by. Fortunately I have a very understanding boss, and I just let him know I'm going to be late. That was a crazy couple of days

Ruby you are right. You have to do what you have to do to get to work.

You sound as if you have arrived in heaven with your job and your boss being so understanding. Yeah I remember the day Madiba's body was transported to Pretoria. The roads/traffic were in a right state. Something like what e-Toll has done to us but on a permanent basis. I want to go ape sh*t when I see what e-Toll have done. If the name e-Toll is mentioned the hair on my neck rises and I am ready for war. LOL

Ed, the guy was deaf, asleep, and 50 feet from the only gun in the house. His hearing aids were in his pocket. 4 Sheriffs, a SWAT team, and couple local ATF boys woke him during the service of a no-knock warrant. He fumbled for his hearing aid, and they shot him a total of 27 times, 12 of which were in his back. Tore the place apart looking for weapons, found ONE, in a locked locker.
No charges filed.
Wrong story, they found three guns, one by the deceased. Several thousands of dollars and half kee of coke plus a bunch of pot.

Yeah, the government doesn't give a rat's arse about how the people feel about e-tolls. Same with the street name changes. No amount of protest action could stop them - they simply do whatever the hell they want!!! No wonder this country is going to sh!t. And with the ever-rising fuel prices, things are starting to look worse, if that's even possible. I think the government is pocketing the majority of the money from fuel, that's why it's so expensive...

I hope the ANC sees its arse in this coming election. So we can get proper government, people who aren't corrupt...

Yeah, the sun is a little shy today. It peeps through every now and then, but there's still a lot of clouds in the sky. Probably going to rain some more tonight... Le sigh

LOL, must be really, really bad roads, eh?
WTF, what tittelating fun?
No the roads are not that bad it is the amount of traffic that makes this a problem.
The cars that used to take the motorway are now using the regular roads as they do not want to pay the toll tax to drive on the motorways. Us ,the plebs who have driven on the untaxed roads (regular roads) now have to contend with millions of cars because of the toll tax problem. No one wants to pay a toll to drive on a road so they are opting to leave home at the crack of dawn and travel the back roads where you do not have to pay toll tax with the result that the regular roads are totally and completely swamped with traffic. You have to see it to believe it........

That is why I leave home before 5:30am in the mornings..... Not everyone's answer to the problem, but the best that I can come up with......... until I can think of something else.

Wow Ruby can you imagine if the ANC do see their arses in this election . What a Day!!!!!! But somehow I don't think it is going to happen. They will hang on for all they are worth as they are lining their own pockets and do not want to stop a good thing.
Well the main opposition called and asked if I was going to vote and did I know where I was to go and blah blah blah and I said yes I just needed the date of the election. I had to hold on for 10 minutes whilst they went to find someone that knew what date the election was on. Geezuz!! Ruby we have a lot of bloody fools in this country. If this is an indication of how the main opposition will run the country, we are between the Devil and the Deep blue sea, up the creek without a paddle to coin a phrase. They are having a laugh at our expense I am sure of it. You know the saying "as short as two thick planks" well I think it applies here.

This story sounds like what happens in SA. Maybe we are not that much different in the criminal department.

Different story - indeed. Nonetheless, both true.

Both untenable, but for different reasons.

Local government is a circus and unfortunately the citizens are the clowns. Joke's on us. And they laugh all the way to the bank. But, there IS a God, and He sees what's going on. Justice will prevail. We just have to keep faith

(And the election is the 7th of May)

Well, last I heard it was the 7th, it could've changed in the meantime. But to my knowledge it's the 7th... Will make sure and let you know which of the two it is. I'm now not sure either, lol.

Morning Dale, Rotor, Princess, Oki, Ed, FC, Hickup, Holly, Ricky and anyone I may have missed

The sun is shining this morning, so let's hope it stays that way. It's quite humid because of the soil that's so wet. But not complaining. I'm happy to see some sunshine for a change

Why can't it be Friday yet? This week's been far too long to my liking, lol

Maria, I am new on this thread and my name is Dale. I do not know the name of the bartender but if you see Rube88 come on line then you could ask her as she seems to know everyone on here. You should be careful of religious threads on Topix. They can turn into "bun fights" and even worse LOL
