The closest thing we see to carnivores on our trails, are other people. Lol. It's apparently a Nature Reserve that we ride through. Though I haven't seen any myself, there are small antelope. We often see meerkats and "dassies" (Don't know the English name for them) http://focusingonwildlife.com/news/wp-content...
And I've spotted two snakes in the 5 1/2 years I've been riding there. One I suspect was a Cobra of sorts and the other one was some type of tree snake
We also encounter sheep and cattle as well as other horses along our trails (obviously behind fences), and sometimes fisherman with their dogs, or dogs who got out of their yard to chase the horses
But overall, it's just a peaceful place to ride and have fun :-)
You know that sounds really great. I mean it,'cause when I rode around the mts. in Idaho, we had to think about coyotes, an occaisional bear, cougars and on a rare event a wolf. Never left without the m29 S&W.
The little critter seems to be a type of marmot, rock chuck kind of thing. Not as cute as a Chinchilla though.

I did know that and I'm glad to see that something good does finally come out of those barrels.
Then by all means take joy in it, moderately of course.

A general query:
Is there such a thing as "Moderate Joy?"

I think not.
Joy is bounteous, generous, and often extreme.

Really good. The first 48 hours were most pleasant, the next ten sucked. I(we) almost beat the cold front. Ended up with 6' following seas trying to make the cut into marsh harbour. Decided to round the east side and go on to Hope Town. Nice little place, but bring plenty of stores. prices as always are high. Little harbour is cool to. And much warmer for these old bones.

Yes there is, it happens when you're really happy, but not quite happy enough to crap.

Intersting little critter. For Hunglo, did you know that Guinea pigs were once the favoured food of Peruvian royality?
It's true. Still served in some places there.

I did not know that. If I should ever find myself in Peru I'll have to look for it on the menu. I like to try new foods.

Agreed. Chinchillas are super cute. The girl I usually ride with (featured in the pics I posted), has a couple of Chinchillas. Super soft and cuddly little critters. Showed one to my mom when we were in the shops yesterday, and we strolled into a petshop. Said on the cage they're very clean, don't smell and bathe in a special kind of sand (can't remember the exact wording). Mom was more interested in the ginger kittens in the cage below though :-P

Good day friendlies

Very lazy Monday for me. I had to go buy myself a cup of coffee so I won't fall asleep behind my desk... Lol. Boss isn't in today

Hope everyone has a good start to the week.

Oh, almost forgot, I got a call earlier to inform me that I've won a trip to a safari lodge. It's for two people. I want to ask them if I can give the prize to someone else (want to give it to my parents). Would be wonderful but I don't want to go by myself, and don't have anyone to take with me, so it'll just go to waste otherwise. Very cool that I've won something. Though I would've preferred a cash prize or something instead
