The boundary lines of Iraq were ARTIFICIALLY created during the breakup of the Ottoman Empire after World War 1. These boundary lines are not written in stone. The Kurdish area could be annexed by Turkey. The U.S. is probably going to invade Iran, so may as well let Iran annex the rest of Iraq, let Iran solve the sectarian violence and then invade Iran.

It is not about dividing the area of Iraq to Shiite, Sunni and Curds. It is about Islamic terrorism incited by the Iranian regime of the Ayatollahs. It is actually about Islamic terrorists supported by Iranian evil regime killing innocent Muslims supported by Saudi Arabia and then the other Islamic terrorists kill the innocent Muslims supported by Syria, which are related to the Iranian supported Islamic terrorists which kill the other Muslims. It sounds like a mess that has nothing to do with US troops, although US left wing liberals will try to blame the president for it. It is a vicious circle similar to a cat chasing its tail and all based on the rules of Islam and the Koran promising 72 brutal girls in hell to the vicious killers. It is a religious war related to Islamic terrorism and it is incited, paid and sustained by the Iranian evil regime of Ahmadinejad. US troops should not be involved in saving lives of Islamic terrorists of any kind wherever they are fighting each other. Much of US troops should be sent home while about third of them should wait in their bases, taking the time until Islamic terrorists will be tired of killing each other, or when Iranian evil regime will be ousted in Iran. Obviously, it is impossible to divide Iraq’s area to three without causing much bigger problems.

China, India need oil and will put together the 100 million man army that will sweep into Iran and Iraq and secure the oil for themselves. Do you think 2 billion people are going to go back to living in poverty because the civil war cuts off Mideast oil sales? America? What, fight China? Use Nukes? Not likely, especially since we are already bankrupt and will get worse as China bids oil higher on tighter supplies.

It has very little to do with history and the removal of Saddam from power. It’s about the madness of Islamic terrorism at its best and the killing of Muslims as called upon in the fanatic religion book. US liberals believe that it could help them win the elections, but on contraire...

The real reason we invaded Iraq: Iraq has the 2nd largest oil reserve in the Middle East behind Saudia Arabia.

Of course, this administration so botched the aftermath of the invasion, by not listening to the professional generals who said you needed more troops at the onset (Thanks to Rumsfeld and the rest of the neo-cons for thinking they knew better) the country's fallen apart around them and they haven't been able to get a drop of oil out.

This administration is so incompetent they can't even do their nefarious plotting without screwing it up.

Sometimes I actually believe these are the so-called "end times," although not in the sense of the silliest of the beliefs of Evangelical Christians and that acid trip Book of Revelations, which is a medievel version of the Weekly World News. What with the impending and undisputed peaking of global oil supplies (no new supergiant fields discovered since the 1960s), the spread of maniacal, murderous Islam combined with the proliferation of nukes, and the likelihood that China wants a war with the U.S. at some point (maybe when Wal-Mart sales fall off due to recession and we aren't buying as much of their crap), it seems to me that civilization is on a collision course with oblivion. Iraq is just a sideshow, although it could be the trigger.

Again, I don't believe a word of that twaddle about "end times" in anybody's "holy" books, but I do believe we are engineering it ourselves. It may be that intelligence is a self-correcting phenomena -- i.e. when its technologies outstrip its wisdom, it self-destructs ... kind of like hitting a "reset" button. Maybe we're just too smart/stupid to survive.

Screw it! I'm getting a beer.

Bahgdad will still be the capital and become neutral and the three borders will meet there.

Even if Iraq remains whole Iraq won't be swallowed up by surrounding nations.

The US will not invade Iran or Syria because it does not have the manpower, resources or finances to do that because China and Japan are already footing the bill for this war as our credit line becomes astronomical. There will be no need for the US to invade because Israel will nuke Iran and Syria.

Once Iran and Syria are nuked here comes occupying Russia taking possession of those two resulting in a stalemate since Russia won't move on Israel since that would mean nuclear war with the US.

Meanwhile on the other side of town, US troops exit Afghanistan. Due to a behind closed doors agreement between China and the US, China floods into and siezes Afghanistan.

With only the US having Iraq on it's hands plus having the surplus trrops that left Afghanistan Iraq is split in three.

Do you have any, like, ideas?

Are you capable of posting anything about boilerplate rhetoric - third rate rhetoric, at that?

What do you mean, it has nothing to do with the removal of Saddam from power?

I like the concept of "reset button". I often wondered where the fossils came from to create all that fossil fuel (OIL). It takes a whole LOT of biological destruction created at the same time to create puddles of fossil fuel in various places around the world.

Actually I think their plan was to NOT let the oil out. And it has worked beautifully. Look who is making money. Oil Profits push into the Billions. And everyone in this current administration is tied to profits in the Oil business. As for the rest of what you say, I agree.

My fifth grade teacher had it right as he read the newspapers during recess some odd 25 years ago: "irate A-rabs!" Saddam was good for Iraq compared to what it is now, but no! Colin Powell and the rest of them amassed troops in the mid-east while the international community pleaded for the prez to stop. Bush only went to Iraq to somehow pick up where his father's shame of losing the election (even though he did the right thing by not going into Iraq and stopping at the border with Kuwait) left him.

Hey MIM, have you ever read Kurt Vonnegut? I think you'd him and especially his book "Galápagos" It's cynically funny book all about how those big brains on the humans was an evolutionary mistake and how it kept getting them to do stupid things eventually leading nature towards a 'correction' of the error.

Of course, I'd like to think I'm not so cynical myself. I'd like to think that humanity's big brains are smart enough not to kill each other over trivial things like primitive god concepts or arrad desert land. I'd like to think that humans aren't so stupid as not to knowingly burn through all their resources and destroy the ecosystems of which they live off of thus ensuring their own extinction. I'd like to think that their big brains are smart enough to know that the only way to survive and ultimately thrive is to work together and use those clever brains collectively to solve their collective problems. I'd like to believe all that.

Of course I'm proven wrong on a daily basis! But, I'd LIKE to believe those things. I guess, in order to keep from losing all hope, I'll just have to have FAITH that humaity will figure all this out before it's too late....-Uh...-After you with the beer, sir!

We're winning. NO ?

Only 2600 US dead so far, we're winning !

Kill them, rape them, cover up, torture, just the price you got to pay for success, winning in Iraq, new stature of US before the whole world. We're winning !
