Because of George Zimmermans actions, the life of a young man was snuffed out much too soon. I don't think it's even comparable. George could have done what was right and what he was told to do, he chose not to, and chose to act as a vigilante, while not knowing what the hell he was doing. George is getting everything he deserves, and it's still not enough.

Zimmerman does not appear to be a very smart person which will not be in his best interests.I don't think GZ understands completely the impact of his words. His attorney did a poor job preparing him for the interview which again supports my concerns about GZ not having quality representation. For example, during the interview, he did not say he wished he could have changed the outcome of the night(something like that) He felt it was all in God's plan. This could be interpreted any number of ways and not to GZ's advantage. The prosecuter can taste his blood which could be why she thinks he will be easy to railroad. She's right.
GZ has to be angry that TM attacked him, forcing him to shoot....and thus putting him on this public stage. Because of the actions of the thug, Z's life is changed forever.

And how was he acting suspicious? I'm just curious. And do you have a link to the video of him in the 7-11? I'd like to see what suspicious behavior looks like. I've worked A LOT of retail, and have seen suspicious behavior.
realitycheck wrote:
<quoted text> Are you acting obtuse on purpose? My point was that even I could see that TM was acting oddly just by watching him on the video in the store. The fact I can confirm that he was in the store acting odd confirms GZ's statements about him on the 911 call. TM acted suspicious in the store and I am certain he acted just as suspicious outside of the store which was why Z called authorities in the first place.

Wow, not much has been said on this once highly contreversal topic. It was presented today that the gun only had Georges DNA on it, none of Trayvon's, which would lead me to believe that Trayvon was no where near the gun which shot him, kind of destroys the theory that George shot when Treyvon was on top of him, and shot to save his life. Treyvons blood, hence DNA, would have gotten on the gun if it had been fired at that close of range. Just my opinion. I'm no forencisc scientist (nor much of a speller this morning either.) Just wondered what others thought about it.
The longer that O'Mara postpones going to trial, the worse things end up looking for Zimmerman, due to the actions of himself, his family and his friends. Not only was there the fiasco about his wife committing perjury, but his mother-in-law and next-door-neighbor (Taaffe--who was mouthing off to the news early on) both racked up DUIs not long ago. Doesn't directly impact Zimmerman except that some of his list of reliable character witnesses just got shorter. Then he went on O'Reilly and sounded bizarre (no regrets, it was God's will) and then turned around and blew Barbara Walters off.

Now his friends have published a book and went on Dr. Phil. And went straight to the prosecution's witness list. The book includes the both reached for the gun and scuffled over it account (btw--that defense come straight from the musical Chicago). Now, I think this would be inadmissable (hearsay), but, it puts the friend (another potential character witness) in the position of having to say on the stand that either he invented/lied about what happened, or he understood it to be the truth based on what George told him.

And the scuffle over the gun is now challenged due to the lack of Trayvon's DNA on the gun.

I think there is a hearing today on Zimmerman's medical records. Defense wants to prevent their release. Should be interesting. I still think that at some point the wise move will be to cop a plea.

The trial begins Monday, we will see if the media covers it fairly.

Also, if Zimmerman is found NOT GUILTY, do you think that the Blacks will riot, burn, and loot?

I wonder why they only have six jurors instead of twelve? And why did they pick an all women jury?

Why were Zimmerman's parents banned from entering the courtroom? Trayvon's parents were allowed to enter the courtroom, but Zimmerman's parents were banned. The trial is already looking wrong-minded.

Witnesses are not allowed in the courtroom prior to their testimony.

There is a legal exception for the family of the victim. They have a right to be there.

"Knock. Knock," said defense attorney Don West.

"Who is there?"

"George Zimmerman."

"George Zimmerman who?"

"All right, good. You're on the jury."

Seriously? She wasn't there. She saw nothing. She heard a bump, then the phone went dead. If she's the prosecution's star witness, they're in trouble.

And, ummm, she's 19?! No one in law enforcement is concerned about the posts about getting high or drinking? How about photos clearly showing she is drinking and in possession of alcohol as a minor? And her epic failure to grasp any portion of the English language proves she's just another ignorant child who will never grow up, blame it all on everyone else, and become a trashy moocher like the culture her behavior and verbiage emulate!

Walking in the rain between the homes, after a string of robberies in the area, sure, that is suspicious. Maybe Trayvon was indeed responsible for some of the robberies, and maybe he was looking for another home to rob, who knows?

Ummmm, no. That was not what was asked.

The question was fairly specifically narrowed. The witness first agreed that walking around in circles in the rain might be suspicious. Then when pressed she agreed that a person walking in the rain with no purpose might be suspicious.

No indication of how one might know another person's purpose.

And previous robberies does not necessarily tell you anything about the behavior of any person you see soon afterward.

And there is absolutely nothing to like Trayvon to either earlier or future robberies.

And "who knows" is hardly sufficient justification for shooting someone.

Be interesting to see what happens if the defense tries to enter any of the above as evidence.

George Zimmerman is not white hispanic, at least not in appearance. White hispanics don't look like natives. They have white skin. Zimmerman may be part Jew, but he looks like a brown-skinned Peruvian. I don't get how Trayvon Martin thought that Zimmerman was a "cracker". I would never think that about him at first glance. I would assume he was full non-white hispanic. The fact that this was made a white vs. black thing is so ridiculous, it was all total race-baiting by the media. That guy does not look white to me at all.

I agree!

Zimmerman must be found not guilty, and he must be set free.
