Shame wrote: Sounds like you have a good heart, but you need to do a lot more research on your subject for it is laced with inaccurate observations. Better than that, just move to California with all the other drug addicts and hope an earthquake don't shake you to reality. Sorry Shame but California is not one of the top states for drug use. In the category of past month use of any illicit drug other than marijuana, Alaska, Arizona, the District of Columbia, Louisiana, Nevada, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, Rhode Island and Washington composed the highest tier, with Arizona having the highest prevalence rate, 4.9 percent, among all persons aged 12 or older. In the 18-25 age group, the rate of past month use of any illicit drug other than marijuana was highest in Rhode Island, 14.1 percent. Among youth 12-17, the rate was highest in North Carolina (8.1 percent). The highest rate of past year cocaine use among persons 12 or older was found in the District of Columbia (4.1 percent). This compares to a national prevalence rate of 2.5 percent. But while the District had the highest rate for cocaine use for 12 and older and age 26 and older, it was in the lowest fifth for those aged 12-17 and for those aged 18-25. Colorado was the only state that ranked in the top fifth of states for all three age groups – 12-17, 18-25 and 26 or older.

Our laws are so dysfunctional on drugs that it is even illegal to grow hemp a resource that we now have to import that costs as much to ship as it does to grow. The argument that growers can hide real pot growing amongst the hemp is wrong since hemp grows faster and will block the sunlight not to mention the fact that pollination from the hemp will provide buds with millions of seeds making them nearly worthless compared to quality buds.

Our largest problem with drugs is that: This country is so full of hypocrites, that they would rather you lose all you freedoms on any issues, on any subject, and see you in jail; than to stand up in church and say they have the same feelings and desires you do. And the government profits from this by becoming a militarism state by force of local and federal police. The United States of Militarism. Main Entry: mil·i·ta·rism Pronunciation:'mi-l&-t &-"ri-z&m Function: noun 1 a : predominance of the military class or its ideals b : exaltation of military virtues and ideals. 2 : a policy of aggressive military preparedness.

Can make money for economy, instead of taking money from our economy 5)will stop drug dealers from dealing Marijuana and reduce drug related crime.(Why would you sell marijuana as a drug dealer if it is available on market? It wouldn't be profitable to do so, and no body would go to an illegal source if it is legal. Also will reduce crime, if dealers can't sell can't fight and compete with one another) 6)Will reduce problem of illegal grow operations, and take away from those stealing hydro to grow. Who would buy Marijuana from a grow operation if they could grow thier own, or purchase it themselves safely and affordably. 7) Legalization won't make it more readily available. Right now it is illegal and people still consume and purchase it. Only people who want to consume and purchase it will. Legalization will also introduce ages so that minors can not buy it.(Remember minors are currently buying it now) 8) The industry would be regulated at least it would reduce people adding other things into thier marjuana. So safe supply would be available. Not only that if you look at what our fore fathers used it for. Did you know that hemp grows every year and would reduce the destruction of trees and it produces tons more paper than a regular tree per acre. I can not recall the difference in numbers but they are huge. Also did you know that bird seed dried seeds that are treated so they can not be grown. Lets not forget that it is one of the strongest fibers when used in clothing and other goods. Never mind the fact that the medical industry knows it helps people who are going through cancer and many other illnesses. Why don't they just stop the nonsense.

There are more reasons for legalization than there are for JAIL or PRISON... this is so, stupid.
This country could be a leader in hemp commodities, PLUS the perfectly easy packaging then selling to adults...
We all know hemp has no THC value ~ ergo clothes, oil... food?!!!! FUEL ~ ANYONE??????????
America would be front page for months ~ to rock with the sign of the times.

Marijuana causes cancer just like cigarettes. I believe cigarettes should join marijuana in being declared illegal.

Pot isn't a drug.it grows in the earth.not in a laboratory.or pharmasuticle company. If it helps people unwind or keeps them from puking up thier guts after kemo who has the right to stand in the way?life, liberty and the persuit of happiness is the american way.If you legalize it you seperate the casual users from the hard core abusers.Coke heads and meth heads and crack heads are the cancer not some old hippie burning a bowl on his porch!!QUOTE who="The new Canadian PM"]I think Marijuana should be legalized here's why 1)stop people from going to illegal sources to get it 2)Medicinal benefits for patients who need it 3)won't waste tax dollars fighting war on drugs, and prosecuting drug offences, and locking people up 4)Can create tourism industry like Amsterdam. It has nothing to do with whether it causes this that or whatever, its a violation of personal rights, start making every drug illegal and that will go hand in hand with your patriot act. What that says to me is that people in a given society are so stupid that they need someone else to tell them what to do... You know why kids start pot? because people like you dont let them make thier own choices, theyll do it to spite you, things that are taboo are enticing to rebellious teens....
