I think that alot of people think abstract art is objective, say "what do you see in this painting","well what do you think it is?" - or could it be subjective,i.e. the artist, me , wants you to feel a certain way when you look at the paing or even feel blank, cold, nothing at all, or, evoke a subconcious response...what are your thoughts on this?

Art is a reflection of reality, or a representation of an alternative reality,
albeit through some mighty strange point of view many times.
But art is always subjective, except in the mind of the artist.

I understand why some people don't get abstract art. Although I majored in art in college and I find it truly great. Some of the lines look simply thrown on the page, but it really takes thought and effort to make everything go together that way. There's a contemporary abstract painter in my area and I love seeing the new pieces he comes up with. http://www.gregorydeane.com
