About Faith Based Boys:
Faith Based Boys web site was created as a gathering place for those exploring or building a new character development program in the wake of recent changes in existing programs. The name of the organization, its logo and program elements will be developed by a coalition of interested parents and stakeholders who believe that a Christ centered, skills-based opportunity is necessary for young men “to be raised in the way they should go”. This coalition, with assistance from American Heritage Girls, is working to provide an inter-denominational program that will be available across the nation.
Statement of Faith
The following Statement of Faith applies to all organizations who charter and all adult leadership.
"We believe that there is One Triune God – Father, Jesus Christ His one and only Son, and the Holy Spirit – Creator of the universe and eternally existent. We believe the Holy Scriptures (Old and New Testaments) to be the inspired and authoritative Word of God. We believe each person is created in His image for the purpose of communing with and worshipping God. We believe in the ministry of the Holy Spirit who enables us to live a Godly life. We believe that each individual is called to love the Lord their God with all their heart, mind, soul and strength; and to love their neighbors as themselves. We believe that each individual is called to live a life of purity, service, stewardship and integrity."
Clarity is further provided to the following terms:
Purity – Adult members are called to live a life of holiness, being pure of heart, mind, word and deed, reserving sexual activity for the sanctity of marriage; marriage being a lifelong commitment before God between a man and a woman. Service – Adult members are called to become a responsible member of their community and the world through selfless acts, which contribute to the welfare of others.
Stewardship – Adult members are called to use their God given time, talents and money wisely.
Integrity – Adult members are called to live a moral life, demonstrating the inward motivation to do what is right, regardless of the cost

The History of American Heritage Girls:
American Heritage Girls was founded in 1995 in West Chester, Ohio by a group of parents wanting a change for their daughters. Being disillusioned with increasing secular focus of existing organizations for girls, they wanted a Christian organization for their daughters and believed that other parents were looking for the same. This became the birth of the organization we know as the American Heritage Girls. AHG is a Christ-centered alternative to Girl Scouts.
American Heritage Girls began its first year of programming in the fall of 1995 with about 10 troops and roughly 100 members. Most of the troops met in the West Chester area and worked on badges written by founding parents. Organized events started that year which assisted the organization in tying city-wide troops together.
American Heritage Girls is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the mission of building women of integrity through service to God, family, community and country. The organization offers badge programs, service projects, girl leadership opportunities, and outdoor experiences to its members. It serves as a catalyst for building young women of integrity and faith. It broadens girls social development through extra-curricular activities. This program of character building has successfully served thousands of girls since its inception and will continue to do so long into the 21st century.
The founders of the American Heritage Girls and the volunteers of today give all credit for the success of AHG to God for His constant hand upon the organization and His unceasing blessings.

There is a "faith-based" scouting outfit near us, starts at age 12 and I believe runs through to age 18, what's unusual about it is that it's not segregated to boys/girls they all scout together. I'm looking into it to see if it's something I want to put my son in.
