Oh so what your say'n is its OK for truckers & familys of truckers to lose everything they have worked for years to own so you can not feel any hardship. Give-me-a-break & grow up.
Its time that everyone knows just how hard it is to eak out a livin in a truck & then to watch everything you love be gone because your Gov does not give a crap is over.
We are going on strike on April 1, 2008
You can also find more info on this on other sites like www.uscattlehaulers.com
No, read the words and not what you think is between them! I am saying that the American people are at heart a simplistic bunch, and they're going to be thinking "truckers strike, Stator Bros got no milk...truckers bad!"

Imagine what will happen if big oil decides to shut down their diesel refineries during the same time frame for "organizational level maintenance", so that when the strike is over, there is less diesel fuel for $4.50. Then what? Do you keep striking?

I'm saying that you need to put that "might is right" argument on the back burner and consider every, single, underhanded economic propoganda dirty trick that big oil can pull and be ready for it.

A truckers strike will do the job, the only problem is to to get everyone at the same time. There needs to be a web site for all truckers that there can be bullitins posted for times like this...

Omni did you hear anyone blame the consumer? This is no PINCH, it cost $50 to fill my car, it cost from $500 to $700 a DAY to keep a truck running if he's running fairly hard. We are trying to AVERT a disaster here, what's going to happen if all the little trucking companies go under, it's sure not going to help the economy is it? THAT is what we are talking about GOING UNDER, not a PINCH??!!
Owner Operators and small trucking companies just want to be able to continue we can't tighten the belts anymore. Remember we are all consumers too!!
No, I didn't hear anyone blame the consumer, nor did I say that anyone one was directly blaming the consumer. I simply said it's not the consumer's fault that fuel prices are high, therfore, the consumer should not have to suffer the brunt of a strike. I was not replting to a comment I was making a ststement. And, the consumer will suffer the brunt, not the fuel companies, not the stores and certainly not the Govt.

----------
APRIL 1, 2008 is when My trucking Co & thousands of others are shutting Dow. At 8 AM on that date.
From that time on we will no longer accept any loads at ANY price untill such time as our FED Gov admits & puts into action a plan that will give all O/Os some help.
Here is what I would like to see happen,
1# suspend ALL Fed & State fuel taxes untill such time that this economy is back on its feet
2# Fed create a FED Oversite Committee to oversee Ins Prieums Charged for Class 8 trucks Insurance
3# Stop allowing Large Trucking Fleets to self Insure, this would make a more level playing field for all trucking Cos
4# Fed Regs for Brokers & Shippers that are inforced, with set set max amounts they can charge.
5# Standerized Fines from Coast to Coast for safety violations. in other words if a log ticket cost $50.oo in Missouri then a log ticket in Calif should only cost $50.oo

I will not return to hauling untill our Gov. the people we put into office gets off their butts an does something to help this Industry

Send me an email if you plan on shutting down on April 1, 2008

This is a very heated TOPIC. But no one is pointing the finger " middle finger at anyone" here anyways!

The one people I blame are the dam White collar pencil pushers on WALLSTREET and the dam Oil Companies! THEY ARE TO BLAME for the drastic increase in fuel price.

Here is your EYE on the DATES straight from the HIGHWAYs PAVEMENT POUNDERS!

april 1st sut'em down if you can't afford to park for a week your already broke.also you not going to lose evereything cuz Joe six pack factory workers going to be sent home big business isn't going to pay an hourly wage and get nothing in return they'll have to foreclose on 90% of america and the banks won't be able to sustain that.then the government will be forced to do somethjing.I've heard some say the'll order us back to work or threaten jail time. not enough jails and who's going to drive em if we'rre locked up?the national guard and U s army can't because their mostly deployed over seas.also lets take on all the issues at this tim.like loading and unloading for free.lumpers parking and idiotic idle laws.shut em down or accept 2nd class citizen status.

People we are doing a great job in getting the word out.I'm getting calls from drivers all over willing to go home on April 1st. I'm aware that some cant make it that long and have already gone home thats ok to. If you have to be out there drive slow, run legal, and be careful. We do not want any harm to any driver in any way this is about change for the good making a name for our industry a good name. Please keep this in mind as we go forward with our movement..myspace.com/cartrace r24 Please sign the guest book show your support...

If trucks strike, everyone in the USA needs to
park too. This means ALL vehicles private and
business gas and diesel. It would only take 2 days to let the GOV. know WE THE PEOPLE are sick and tired of the oil companies taking our money. Look at their profits. I struck in 1983 for six weeks, attended meetings with OODIA in Atlanta. One thing that came out of this strike Fed Hwy Use tax is only $550.00 instead of the proposed $1500/$2500(80000lbs) and lower fuel prices. Trouble is getting the Truckers organized in a strike-same day same time etc and no violence. WAKE UP PEOPLE THIS IS EFFECTING ALL AMEICANS.

Just a suggestion, but wouldn't it be better to just block the entrances at the fuel refinery racks to stop the flow of gas and oil from going to the truckstops and gas stations? It would take fewer to participate, and I think it would have a quicker and more profound effect. If they try to tow you away just have another take his place. In central PA, gate-blocks at Warren,PA and Duncansville,PA would shut down about the whole of Western and Central PA gas stations and truckstops. "GOOD LUCK"
