Neighbor had to use my cell phone twice today to try to get ATT to do a job that had already been promised. She has a land line with ATT and has their LINEBACKER service which is supposed to take care of problems with the house line. SORRY! The woman has several children-- I advise her to get a cell phone but with a different company.

AT&T sucks. I had AT&T in my home and when I got my bill they charged me for long distance calls to my mother. My mother lives less than a full block from my home. I called their cust. service and was told if they charged me for LD it must because the call I made was LD. I tried to explain to the lady (in India) that I could throw a rock of my porch and smash my mother's windows - that's how close she lives and the service rep wouldn't adjust my bill! Her only reason was your phone number starts with 770 and your moms starts with 206. Well, DUH, my mom uses Verizon and the first 3 numbers vary greatly where we live from 222 to 206 to 770 to 771-775. I got nowhere, I cancelled my crappy AT&T service!!

Many places have terrible customer service. I think it's the way of the world anymore. If we're not talking to someone in India, we're talking to some youngster that doesn't know what the word respect means, or that "the customer is always right"... I do thousands of dollars in business with 2 musical instrument websites/stores that are owned by the same investors. I have had great luck with them in the last 20 years or so. last week I ordered something that would usually ship out the same or next day. A week later, no confirming email or shipping status, which is unusual. I've called the company 5 times this week, only to be told that "it's on the dock, waiting to be shipped".... I paid 30 bucks for overnight shipping because I needed it for today's band practice (ain't gonna happen now!)... So I called this morning, getting the same "it's on the dock" story. I asked to speak with the gentleman's boss or manager, in which he replied "don't have one"... I told him "everyone's got a boss"... he got rude with me, told me to take my business somewhere else and hung up on me. This place has already gotten my money, I just want the merchandise! Well, I called back and DID get his boss. I am sure he hasn't had a very wonderful day. His boss, "Melinda" was wonderful and has supposedly taken care of the matter. Too bad it takes his manager to make sure my package will ship today, when THAT is what HIS job is. He needs a new title, he surely ISN'T "customer service!"

Poor Service-- That reminds me about getting the CEO's address for SEARS. SEARS promised a gift card as compensation for not living up to its agreement to have two expensive appliances that I paid for, available when they stated. I got them 2 weeks later, after the tenant of my rental property moved in. I haven't seen the gift certificate I was promised for the inconvenience.

I have nothing against people from other places but when I call customer service with any company be it a credit card or phone or whatever, I expect to hear English that I can understand. If I hear "Philippines" and they are not speaking good English or it is "India" and I can hardly understand them, I ask for the CEO and send a letter stating I will sell shares in the company if they continue outsourcing jobs. That's if I own shares to start with of course or otherwise, I just cancel my membership or whatever with whatever company.

After growing up on an Island and having to learn all sorts of magical powers and being over 500 years old while looking 20something and hot, it was a shock when I realized there were men too LOL

I canceled ATT and went with Vonage last month. I got 2 months for free, and I get unlimited long distance for $24.99 a month. I was paying about 60 bucks a month to ATT, they were raping me blind. I will not miss them at all, unless my internet connection is lost!
I am doing a project for psychology that studies smoking cigarettes and cumulative GPA. I would appreciate anyone that would take a moment to fill out a quick survey. Thanks in advance:

Had AT&T phone and went to Charter,but after AT&T messed with the wires Charter couldn't get the phone back working. Switched back to AT&T which we owed the closing balance from the change. One of their reps said to put it in my name until I paid the acct in my husbands name. We are on soc sec an get paid once a month. I figured I'd pay half now and half the next month. Called today an was told I could not do it they wanted the money now or no phones by the 5th of July. I don't even have a bill it just got installed and she threatened to have it shut off because my husband would be using the phone an she said I also used the old phone. How stupid, they were going to get paid, but they want it now or they take out my phone that was just installed. They said that my husband said I could talk to them for billing purposes when it was in his name, so I owe that bill too and if it wasn't paid in full the new phone would be disconnected. We have to have a phone for medical purposes and the internet DSL for information purposes otherwise I would have told them to you know what... The way the economy is today, you would think they would be a bit more polite and compromise when someone wants to pay a bill not treat them like dirt and their word is final. I remember when phone companies were willing to compromise and work something out for the billing. I can see why many people go to cell phones and eliminate the ATT or other large manopalizing companies. We don't have a choice for phone companies, we are locked into one. Sure there are others listed out there, but they don't cover our area, I call that monoply. I want to email someone high up about this but nobody could give me an email address or phone number.

You guys are all big babies. I work for AT&T customer service. I'm an American college student. I never really knew what "stupid" meant until I got that job. I read a comment about some guy saying "youngsters don't know about respect".It's not very respectful of the customer to belittle you because you won't credit the international calls their kid made. I'm sick of having to go over your bills because you're too lazy to read through it yourself. I will not give someone a credit just because they've "been a customer for 12 years". 12 years doesn't mean much if you've been suspended for non payment once every three months. Everyone always calls in bitching about the stupidest things. Don't you people seriously have anything better to do with your lives? No cell provider is perfect, you only ruin it because all you can do is complain and have to act like a child when you don't get your way. You people seriously disgust me.
