"This is not a death-penalty case. We will do whatever is necessary to defend Casey Anthony from the state trying to take her life," said Marti Mackenzie, spokeswoman for defense lawyer Josť Baez."

Marti MacKenzie...This case SCREAMS DEATH PENALTY. Fry her ass! Who puts duct tape across their 2 year olds mouth, then places a heart sticker on it, before they bury her? Noone I've heard of! You people have got to quit making excuses for this lying POS!

All you have had to do is watch the freaky transformation of this family through the media from the time this happened until now and you can see that they are all a little sociopathic. I mean, they are all enablers of Casey, that's obvious. They have proven that they will do whatever it takes no matter how immoral or dishonest to help Casey out of this and not even think twice about little Caylee Marie. That goes beyond dysfunction.
You said that right. Look how Cindy LIED during the questioning on the "nanny's" case. The lawyer asked her about the statement she put on her myspace account. Which read "MY CAYLEE IS MISSING". The lawyer asked her if she knew at that time Caylee was missing? She said she didn't and smiled and said she put that on her myspace in order to get Casey to talk with her. She lied right through her teeth. And smiled when she spoke, that looks like a guilty smucker to me. George and Cindy are sick people for defending their daughter when the evidence is pretty clear that she MURDERED HER DAUGHTER!

Get real. I am sick to death of people bringing up the race issue! I'm surprised you didn't bring up the fact that Casey's dad is a retired cop and that's why it took them so long to charge her.
I'm tired that blacks and Mexicans think that only whites are racist. I have seen and heard more racist remarks coming from a black person that I do whites. Grow up and get real!

The circus continues! This would seem to be a very easy case to convict and get life in prison. And, now going after death penalty, it would seem that the case is now better. So, why does state want to go for death: Publicity, and a huge waste of taxpayer monies. Automatic appeals, closer scruitny by applellate courts, etc. Cheaper to keep her in jail for life by millions of dollars. Now, the state attorney who is a double dipper of state monies by drop monies is now going to cost us millions of dollars more. Thanks, Lawson. Keep up the good working living of the gov't and keeping our taxes high.
this case is blown way past sky high.. and that's why there is so much hype about it...why its on the daily news.. why everyone is having the whole thing blasted on their show, its all about money & fame.. from all parties..
If it were YOU & your family in this hell, you would be in an uproar about "" people LIKE you passing judgments"" .. it would stir you up too..
It would make you outraged...and you would fight... they don't wanna see their daughter until they know the 100% TRUTH.
AND SO FAR its not really clear what happened.. its just all the media broadcasts & talk, & we people watching video's of Casey with cops, FBI whatever..
they keep some secrets you know..
those secrets need to be let out..
THEN and only then.. will this whole hell end...

Hear, hear! It was never an issue about race. It was however, an issue that a mother killed her child and then acted like her daughter never exsisted. Yes, there was a card played. But it wasn't the "race" card. It was the "pity me" card played by Casey, that got her no where except jail where she ought to be.
It's getting really old when people want to play the race card that does not have any merit.

Can't stand Oprah. But the Anthony family is totally screwed up. The family has known all along that Casey murdered her daughter. They have basically said in taped interviews with the police in the beginning of this case. The grandparents spout how much they love and miss little Caylee, but they obviously love their murdering daughter a whole lot more. Can't stand the brother either. The whole family is nuttier than a fruit cake.
I'm surprised though that Casey has lasted this long in jail. I wonder who she's doing the "bump "n grind" with? Baez, her attorney? Or maybe Stella 2 cells don?

Amen to that. I've over it too. When people bring up the race card, it's because they have no legitimate point to make and no leg to stand on.

Personally, I don't think most of the good people of FL give a damn about whether or not it's cheaper for the state to give her a life sentence as opposed to the death sentence. WE WANT JUSTICE because WE give a damn about that baby, much more than her family ever did.

I agree that she should get the death penalty. This was Caylee's mother who she loved, trusted and thought was she was her protecter

Karen your right about the media. They do like getting their ratings up. But the video's they show of Casey does show her true demeanor. I mean come on, the detectives just told Casey they have given up on finding HER DAUGHTER alive and they have arrested her. And what does she do? She is worried about how straight her cloths are and her hair. NOT WORRIED ABOUT HER DAUGHTER. The DAUGHTER they just said they believe is dead. Where is CASEY'S TEARS. That video showed alot. And what was she doing during her OWN INVESTIGATION? Out parting with friends. Yeah, some kind of special investigation. I'm not saying she is guilty of anything, THE EVIDENCE DOES! And she is digging her own little hole.

I totally agree. The race card is over used. They need to come up with something that actually makes some sense, like facts.

Nah. The thought of someone else having control and making the decision on when her life should end would eat her alive. "Poor Casey" would no longer be able to control and manipulate, as she's done throughout her life, even while in jail. I find that most amusing. Ha ha ha, you evil biittch.

To all you Floridians out there: If someone is indeed sentenced to death, is execution relatively speedy? I ask because here in California, it generally takes over 30 years for the state to finally execute a prisoner.
