Reaparations For Slavery Now!!!

As a Christian, and a white male, I personally favor REPARATIONS FOR SLAVERY!

BUT it should be based on HISTORICAL REALITY and NOT propaganda from the MSM, aka The LIARS(Liberal Intelligentsia And Rich Socialists) Club.

It was the Democratic Party that was the driving force behind Slavery, the KKK, Lynchings, Segregation, Jim Crow Laws and the Great Society
Welfare Programs.

It was the Christians, Abolitionists and Republicans who fought against and helped end Slavery in this country. Therefore I offer the following REPARATION PLAN based on HISTORICAL REALITY.

5% of the wealth of every Democrat be thrown into a kitty. The US Government would match this amount and then distribute these funds according to the following point system.

Afro-American 15 points
Abolitionist 15 points
Christian 10 points
Republican 8 points

These funds would REJUVENATE our cities and the Black Community and The United States would be HAILED for its Goodness by the UN and the International Community.

It doesn't matter who you think is responsible for slavery.

There are no slaves alive today. There are no slave owners alive today. Both of these groups are several generations removed from slavery, therefore you will never rationally justify reparations.

Afro-Americans were, of course, the victims of slavery so they get 15 points.

Abolitionists were the driving moral force behind the ending of slavery so they also get 15 points.

Christians dominated the anti-slavery movement, BUT NOT ALL Christians participated, so they get 10 points.

Republicans were the political party that opposed slavery, BUT politicians are compromisers, so they only get 8 points.

It should be pointed out that this Reparation Plan takes into account ALL the players in the struggle and is more inclusive, as it should be.

The whole idea of reparations is bogus. If it weren't for slavery, none of the "African-American" population would be living in this great country today, so here's your reparation: you get to STAY. And don't kid yourselves into thinking there's no such thing as slavery anymore. Ever hear of the white slave trade? I agree with you on your point about slavery still existing today. But its mostly asian women that are being enslaved...

I do want to state, that under NO circumstance will I thank this country for enslaving blacks. And it's pretty twisted logic when you think about it. It would be like telling one the women you mentioned in your post that they should be thankful they were abducted because now they don't have to pay taxes. Slavery is and was wrong, and there is NO WAY to justify it. Period.

Moe, slavery has been around as long as humans have been on the planet. It was then and is now a power trip. But seriously, reparations? How about getting reparations from the people who SOLD their people into slavery? Look, the ancient Egyptians had slaves, the Romans and Greeks had slaves, Persia (Iraq today) had slaves, it was and is a global issue, not just an American issue. Asking for reparations is like admitting that you believe you should be getting a hand out at others' expense, and not taking any personal responsibility for yourself. The world doesn't work that way. And it's true what Fish said, the victims of slavery are all dead. Why should their descendents get reparations for something they weren't even involved in? The best reparation in the world, it seems to me, would be to make a better life for yourself and your descendents. Lots of people do that every day.

He's a guy that would never consider this but he's a civil neighbor - He's racist but I can ignore it even though the Japanese, American Indians, and others got reparations and Blacks never got the legally promised 40 Acres and a Mule. What is the equivalent of 40 acres and a mule today?-- take it back to the Slave descendants and give it up. Hell, if we can support the Arab countries and pay high gas prices so the Arab consumers get their gas subsidized by the government, paying about 1 dollar a gallon, we may as well pay slave descendants that equivalent of 40 acres and a mule. Take the money from the Arab oil cheats and Oil Corporation HOGS!

Not the value today - the value in 1865. Inflation doesn't count. So as I said $1.25 should just about cover it.

God works in mysterious ways.Had it not been for slavery,it is doubtful(no i do not condone slavery)that the Africans would have made it to the USA,in the numbers that arrived through slave trade.No reparations please.Maybe in reverse.This is a great country,and blacks would not be where they are today,had it not been for slavery.

Don't forget that in AFRICA, especially the west coast of Africa, the slave trade is alive and well in countries like Cote d'Ivoire, Liberia, Ghana, Togo, Sierra Leone and Guinea. Young children are routinely kidnapped, shipped to neighboring countries and sold into the prostitution markets. This is routine in some areas of these countries.....not mere aberrations.
