Good deal ! With the prices falling so fast 3.43 is a rip off anyway. It seems like the attendent would realize the total amounts were all very small and know that should not fill a tank !

That happened here once it was even cheaper because tis was several years ago and gas was around the twenty cent mark. word go around pretty fast as I'm sure it did there. Needless to sa my husband was in line when the owner came screeching around the corner and ran into the store to shut down the pumps. He didn't even turn his car off first. LOL Lucky someone didn't steel that.

So did any of these folks at all repay the difference or just commit theft and drive off?

I guess the people got a deal or steal? Why not wonder why your still paying over $3.00 when wholesale fell below $2.00 And oil @ under $80 per barrel? Those who have the public transit systems should be using them and stop wasting what we have. Talk about robber. Those systems have to run anyway, why not take advantage of them!

Makes you think, maybe the drivers were stealing ? Would it amount to the same thing if you went to the grocery store, knew what the prices were and the cashier's register goofed up ? In both cases you know darn well what the marked price is. But is taking advantage of one's mistake stealing in thus case ?

A few weeks ago, I bought several dented cans of red beans at Kroger for 25 cents a pop. It also gave me gas.

I also heard about this contest on a local radio station where the disc jockey offered to give away a $100 gas card to the first couple who would present a birth certificate showing that they named their baby after him. I don't know if the disc jockey actually got to father the baby, but if so, that sounds like a good deal.

Taking advantage of someone's else's stupidity is not a crime. Maybe the owner will hire more competent personnel in the future. I really can't see folks saying, "Oh my goodness. I only paid a few cents. I should go give that man another $60." Never gonna happen.

Nope, it is not. The law says, in most states, that you are NOT required to correct a cashier's mistake. Basically, that business has to eat the loss.

Were people also lining up at the Kroger for the beans (and gas)?

I'm sorry I don't think it's stealing. Something happened with the pumps and good on the people who got the gas. Same as if the register comes up less than what the shirt price is and the cashier doesnt notice, owell. It's there fault for not noticing. That's what they are getting paid to do. NOW I do think if you notice the CASHIER has giving you to much money you should return it, because they do add there drawer at the end of the night and if it's short that sucks. - I know. So good for those of you who got gas cheap, Wish it was me.

Like charging $1.50 for a 12 oz. soda isn't a crime. Hey, I look at it as Kharma. The station that did it here was taking advantage of people that were trying to escape during Hurricane Rita. When a 15 min drive took over 2-2 1/2 hours they were charging $15. for a flat of 12 waters.
They couldn't overcharge for gas because they ran out. All the fast food places were OUT of food.... literally They had to Closed because of no food and trucks coundn't get through to bring gas let alone deliveries. We live about an hour from the edge of Houston They took advantage of people during a time of distaster. Like I said Karma is a B*tch.
