"war creates peace"? Maybe a a just war does, but not all wars do. Some wars just create more war. You could argue that slavery creates freedom as well, perhaps? But maybe we would be better off without the slavery in the first place.
if you sell your freedom for peace, that wouldn't be slavery?

War is all hell as William Tecumseh Sherman so accurately assessed it, but it is sometimes necessary and the only way to stop certain things. Without war, Hitler would not have been stopped. Without war, Islamic terrorism will not be stopped.
I also dispute your contention that no holy book sanctions warfare, including savage warfare. Try reading the Koran from cover to cover. I think you'll change your mind.
It wouldn't surprise me that the Koran reads very much like the Bible. It is all in how one interpretes.

Wrong. The Koran is a paradigm for action for all time. Any violence sanctioned in the Old Testament was meant for one time only and to sequester a small parcel of land----Palestine. Muslims are instructed by the Koran to spend the rest of time to conquer the entire earth in the name of Islam. Huge differences here. Couldn't be bigger. Are you also aware that Islam divides the world into the Land of Islam (dar-al-Islam), where Muslims predominate, and the Land of War (dar-al-harb), where Islam does not yet prevail but will eventually, through holy war (jihad) if necessary. No other religion does anything like this.
Concerning the New Testament, it's really a pacifist document and sanctions humans to commit no violence whatsoever. And contrast Jesus, who ordered no one to be killed, with Muhammed, who ordered thousands killed. Once again, mega-like differences.
I know there are many who stoop over backwards to exculpate Islam and put it on the same plain with Judaism and Christianity respecting its potential for violence, intolerance and conquest. I am not one of them and find such comparisons a joke----and a dangerous and foolish one at that. Look again.

<quoted text>You who have not had a real war on your doorstep for over a hundred years, you're spouting. Your government has saved you from this by not involving Russia and China. The last time you had people dying needlesly on mainland USA, was when you were killing each other. War is wrong especialy when it is your cities and villages being destroyed. That is why your governmaent finds it easy to fight wars on foreign soil and not their own. The American people in general i think understand this, and I here some 60% are against your Middle East policies.
It's much of the rest of the world that keeps getting itself in trouble and adopting stupid ideologies like Marxism, Nazism and radical Islam. America has had to come to the rescue of the world time and time again because most of the world doesn't have its act together. Personally, I'm tired of the stupidity, timidity, barbarism and jealousy of much of the world. Like Americans throughout American history, from the seventeenth century forward, I wish most of the world would go away. But this is not realistic and America has had to save the world from itself many times over. Just imagine the last hundred years of mankind with one difference: no America. As dark as the last century has been, it would have been far, far, darker without the country Abraham Lincoln called the "last, best hope of mankind." Go ahead and be cynical with Lincoln. I want to read this.
War is wrong? It costs you nothing to say this. How glib can you get. War is indeed all hell but sometimes it does solve things----like getting rid of Nazism or hopefully now radical Islam. And I'm not spouting. I'm just calling it the way it is. Stunning at times to read the self-righteous nonsense on this post that is supposed to pass for intelligent comment. I need a beer.
