Is a career in web development rewarding?

I have been working as an accountant for a private firm for 5 years now, but Ive been feeling really unsatisfied and unhappy with my work. Although the pay is more than sufficient for my yearly expenses, I feel like a career shift will help bring back the joy I once found in life. A foreign company has been reaching out to me for the past couple of days and is offering a position as a junior web developer.
While I did study web development for a year when I was in college and can still remember the basic stuff, Im going to need a refresher for the more complicated topics. Should I go for it, or is it not worth risking a stable job?
