His original followers may have believed his message, that the Messiah of Prophecy was about to come within their lifetime. And they would have wanted to share that message so that the Jewish people would have been ready when the time came to toss the Roman occupiers out.
As far as his alleged resurrection, the only evidence that it may have occurred is in the HIGHLY biased books of the NT. Even then, the earliest gospel written, Mark, originally did not include any stories about a resurrection.
Then too, even if we do accept the dubious testimony of the writings of people who never met him, the Bible has other stories of people being resurrected. In fact, every "miracle" that Jesus is alleged to have performed had already been done somewhere else in the Bible.
