I'm going to explain a few things to you so that you know what you stumbled on.
First we are all adults here. There are medical professionals, teachers, business owners, retired military, and just some regular people on this forum. We have medical marijuana patients with illnesses ranging from cancer to Parkinsons. We have people who use pot to relax. We have people here who do not smoke but support a marijuana patient's right to use, in consultation with their doctor, the best medicine for them. They also don't see anything wrong with those who choose to smoke for their own personal reasons.
Then we get people like you who want to tell everyone else how to live. Usually they come on here calling us potheads, liars, druggies, hippies, etc. They usually supply tabloid news articles if they provide anything at all to back up their opinions.
We used to provide links to peer-reviewed medical research papers, and articles from scientific publications. It you look back about five months you can probably still access them. It became very clear that these people just wanted to give us their opinion and were not going to let pesky facts and science get in their way. They were either incapable of reading a scientific paper, or they really just couldn't care less. They came here, just like you, filled with pre-conceived notions that are based on some urban myths and scare tactics.
No one is going to turn you into the Topix moderator. You get a couple of days to make a fool of yourself and then everyone will start ignoring you. You will be tilting at windmills. No one will take the bait. If you choose to get educated about the subject, and make a reasoned argument you will get respect. I haven't seen it happen yet. Maybe you will be the first.
Beautifully put, KayT. I think you should copy and paste that one into Word and save it. Then all you have to do is C&P it back in a comment whenever we need it. That has to be at least the tenth time one of us has offered that explanation to some self-absorbed twit on here.

It all reminds me of a chick I'd met in the service in bragg nc... she was trying to get hitched to a ca. serviceman. She had heard of so many great wonderfull things of this state. Course she always said she'd get divorced as soon as she got here.
People hear all kinds of crap and believe.
Have a fun exhausting trip lol. no pun intended,,,,don't bury the dog on the way.. it's old.
See ya when ya return.
You can't get rid of me that quickly;-). I'll have my laptop with me.

Yeah, my baby is an old girl. Sweet as pie. But very protective of me. I love her to death.

On our trip east, we'll be detouring to Ft. Campbell to see the middle kid. On to Blacksburg, then the final destination in Delaware. We all get together on Thanksgiving, except for the Army son. He is on duty. He will come to Delaware between Thanksgiving and Christmas and we will have another Thanksgiving. Then we reverse course on New Years Day.

Hope that your sweetheart is starting to feel better.

Good advice on the C&P. I was just thinking about you 'lying skank", etc. response that you used to post to Vicky, Winky Boy, Twinkle and so many other personalities residing in the same shell. I remember first coming on this site thinking what the heck is going on here. I sat back and watched and realized that you guys were some of the sanest people on earth. The new guy seems okay. The two woman, the druggie who doesn't take care of her kids and her toady, are really kinda mild. Think back to the Cuban/Venezuelan/American Indian nutcase. This is a piece of cake, next to those guys.

Have a great day tomorrow.

I think that it is Kefir, which is a thick yogurt. I only know because I use it in Indian cooking. I love a day where I learn something new. It's nice not having all of that noise.

them cute little crystals on the plant. Take your leaf, bud what have you. Most take and use a flour sifter (to take and clean out stems and other matter that is not usable in this process, then use chees cloth. Shake the contents letting the particals fall to a plate (container). What's on the plate is the keif.
I find that a painters net for straining the paint works well.

Yogurt has fat, as we know from past readings. You have to use butter or fat when cooking with MJ.

It's kind of like a refined hash, with a higher concentration of desired psychoactive ingredients. I haven't seen it in eons.

Thanks for the good wishes and back at you. In spite of the fact that you are going to be sitting in the car for 5 days (I could not do it unless I could stop and take a short 2-mile run about every 6 hours or so), how are you feeling these days?.
I don't like any of them so I'm not going to bother with them too much. They're nothing new and I just don't have the time to waste with them.

It is the crystals from good pot they collect on the bottom of your jar or you can use a screen to scrape them off and collect them. They also compress them and make hash but it is not the most potent way to make hash.

keif and yogurt?
my understanding is it(resins) has to be heated to 160+ degrees to activate the chemicals in order to "get high" by ingesting it
just wondering about it
PS
i have a set of nested sieves for soil gradations i use that work perfectly, it has a bottom pan and lid for the top
The Preparation: Lightly heat the grass in a pan with a little olive oil. Mix into the Yogurt. Put in fridge for an hour or so. Serve chilled. This is a good way to make the best use of low strength leaf and ‘home grown’ as heating with the oil releases the cannabinoids allowing the body to digest more efficiently.

If that is not proof enough, think about general chemistry, and heat. Heat breaks down chemicals, it doesn't change them. If THC/CBD/CBN already exist in marijuana (which they do, check out the resin secreted during maturation of buds in the flower stage) then why would you need to "activate" it?

I'm not sure about the method in making hash, but if it's made from kiff it would already be very potent. Kiff is (by definition) the THC crystals (again, it's ALREADY THC, why are you trying to change it with heat?), so if you press these then by weight you're going to have a lot more THC/gram than marijuana, which has a lot of other things (chlorophyl, general plant matter, etc..).

As for heat magically "activating" more chemicals, i'd like to hear how this even started. Since CBD/CBN/THC all exist in marijuana's raw form, and all have been proven (in their raw form) to interact with CB-1, and CB-2 recepters along with generic anandamide receptors, why do we have to change the chemical?

yes I don't heat the keif, I mix, let it set for as couple of days and eat it lol.
However, heat applied to Marijuana in butter will aid the chemical bonding process allowing THC to seep into the fats and so on. It makes the reaction more spontaneous, hence you leave it to soak in butter/fats for less time. This does not mean that if you heat up your MJ a little it will be more potent. It only refers to the transfer of THC to butter.

Activation of THC acids in cannabis (decarboxylation); this occurs at around 103 degrees Celcius with vapourization at around 180-200 degrees. Smoking performs this process but is reported to destroy between 40 and 98% of the THC (Korte, Miras etc.*).

Boy, did I get that wrong. I'm not getting a lot of buds. I keep screwing up the timing of the lights.

Most of my plants wind up being hemaphrodites (can't bother with the spelling). Some buds and pollen everywhere. My last batch is so resinous that the leaves stick to your hands. It still does the trick. Hell back in the 60s all we got were leaves and stems. No buds.

Well back to bed and some lame attempts at sleeping.

Daily Horoscope for December 3

Aries

It's difficult to know whether you're being realistic or gloomy today, especially when thinking about matters dear to your heart. For instance, you might be concerned about the welfare of a relative and wonder whether you're making mountains out of molehills. Do your best to remain cheerful and positive, not bogged down in nameless fears.
