Goodness.
That statement makes no sense at all. It's not only uneducated bible thumper day. It's foolish statement day.
As for selfishness. Most true christians pray for others. Deceased loved ones, nonbelievers, the sick, the poor, the abused, the lonely. Rarely do I pray for myself, although I do need it. Maybe you can say a prayer for me Xcntrick

Raul, These people NEED to believe. if they had no belief they wouldnt have that forgiveness to look forward to...so in believing they are given a free pass to be an idiot and preach from their righteous self imposed Pulpit. That is why they condemn those who refuse to be sheep, they believe they are above us..........

Looks like it's uneducated bible thumper day at topix.net today.
Question: if one who is not saved can not receive the truth from the bible, but one is to read the bible to receive the truth, how can once receive the truth by reading the bible. christian circular logic.
The bible is a book written by men, for men, to govern men, there is no more divine inspiration to the bible than there is to a Superman Comic Book. If one will research instead of believe what one is told by church leaders, one will realize this.
The bible is chock full of contradictions, although bible believers will swear that there are none. When those contradictions are identified, the identifier is shunned as being blind to the word. Typically, these contradictions have never been noticed by christians because most of them have never read the bible, or read it with their eyes closed.
The primary motivation for christians to 'share the word' is selfish gratification. It is imperative to convince others that one's belief is true, or else one begins to question the truth behind one's faith. Christians do not care about anyone else's soul, that is a ruse to cover the fear that their belief is a lie This is apparent to everyone except the teller. This is why christians get angry and condemn others to hell.
The reality is, it is simply faith, a belief. There is not one ounce of historical evidence that proves Jesus rose from the dead, or that the authors of specific books of the bible even wrote those books. They can't even find records proving he actually existed.(before you bring up Flavius Josephus, research) The church has been lying to the simple minded for years. That is a known fact.
When one is forced to open one's mind and look at the true facts, rather than through the skewed perspective of ignorance, one is forced to realize that belief in christianity exists for one reason alone. The believer is afraid of dying and going to hell.
Heaven and hell are creations of man. The god you worship in the bible is a creation of man, the stories in the bible and the bible itself are creations of man. One will find more truth in a John Grisham novel than in the bible.
This ends the bible lesson for today, continue with your lives. No autographs please.
Remember, the Flying Spaghetti Monster loves you and has a plan for your life. Before it's too late, turn from your wicked ways and partake of his Noodly Goodness.

I can only hope that what I've been reading is being written by children.
So the Jesus camp fixed their satellite? I was wondering why the encampment was unusually quiet lately..........

Who told you that these men were not there?? Have you ever been in a courtroom in which 2 or more eyewitnesses to a murder or accident scene gave
different accounts of what they saw?? The bottom line is that we are rationalizing Jesus with our minds--relating Him only to our limited knowledge..Could we possibly create the world? Can we create life from dust? Could we possibly put the universe together? I know that science tries to explain it--I'm a scientist, myself...Our minds can't comprehend what/who Jesus really is because it's greater than just our physical explanations....you have to approach Him with your heart. Ask Jesus to reveal Himself to you. He loves you and wants you to know Him......
The writings of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John tell me they were not there. And yes, I have served on jury duty, and when witnesses *claim* to have seen the same thing but give widely different accounts, I have no reason to believe either of them. If Matthew, Mark, Luke and John were all present, why didn't they get together and compare notes to record one cohesive account?

Jesus didn't create the universe; his alleged daddy supposedly did that. The problem with you Christians is that you don't believe in any kind of god; you believe the Bible. And the Bible is nothing but a poorly written book of fairytales based on older (and better) mythology.

Some people are more vocal about their religion!

have you ever noticed how the christians are the first ones to look down on others and pass judgement regardless of how much sin they have in their own lives? the lord works in mysterious ways

I have no hate for you only pity... Pity that you waste what little time you have left on your life believing in something that doesn't exists. Another example how you christians scramble to cover your lies is that back in the 80's many christians preached that in the year 2000 this world would come to an end. Now those same christians deny ever saying that. How do you explain that John? I'll bet you'll come up with some excuse as to why the world didn't end then when you christians said it was written in your BUYBULL.

If religion, ideology... tells you go harm someone or do illwill, than its not for you; because you can be brainwashed of coherse into doing bad.. If you have moral, ethics... in you and can distingish between right and wrong, and you will not harm someone !

we dont want to disband the good religion (but for now rid of bad religion) else cause dissension and chaos... Until humanity can decide whats good for them then we can revamping bad or evil manmade systems. Get rid of bad leader who cause illwills,wars... and find quality leaders with intergrity to fill the position. Good place to start will be worlds arms/weapon factory. Only for those with abilty and power to get rid of arms factory ... then we can see some peace (Very difficult task, only if real god (Not idols) have plan for us!) Peace and goodwill to mankind!

We still need religion and some institutions, else the choas... To get rid of bad religion, thers host problem s too many religous sects and with different cultures, language...! Some masses are not even educated enought to understand, which easily brainwashed into believing anything. People always need each other! As to age of individualism. i dont think it will ever happen! People always need each other a community, a church...

As long or any religion does not cause illwill... and help people in need, such food bank... Ask yourself, does it give to charitiable cause and where is it going to? GET a P&L, analyse the leaders, get bio. I seen some church take people hard earned money and live in luxury, leave you thinking. What do we want for 21 century! Peace, harmony... doing good charitiable acts to help weak, meak,... Stop wars, diseases, disarm worlds arms/weapons factories, stop wars...

kind of lumping everyone together there aren't you raul... did i ever say when the world would end... no... would i ever say that... no... gods word clearly states that no man knows the time... only god knows... so to lump all christians together because of what another christian says is kind of narrow minded don't you think... and you say you chirstians... do you stereotype everyone or just christians... and why call it as you say the buybull... if you feel it's a book of fantasy's why do you have such a hard time with it... why do you mock it... do you mock dr. suess... hard to understand why someone would mock something they don't believe in... it's kind of like a kid saying my dad is tougher than yours... pretty childish... no need to pitty me either... pitty victims of crime... victims of hate... no need to pitty me... i'm very happy... if you don't believe what i do fine... no need to pitty me... maybe you should pitty yourself... your mind is closed... see much of what you believe i do too... but if someone believes in something you don't your mind closes and you start to bash them and there beliefs... good luck with your closed mind and the anger you so cleary throw at people that believe in god... and the anger you through at a god you say doesn't exist... which makes no sense to me... how can someone be angry towards something they don't believe in... and as far as wasteing my time... you seem to think that i sit around all day and just dwell on what i believe... no time to do anything else... you say that to almost everyone in here that believes in god... maybe you should take the time to think and ask people what else they do... i bet you would be surprised how many believers do alot more then you could imagine... i bet you couldn't guess what i do in a million years... you see me as a christian that just sits and waits for the fantasy that you think i believe in to fall apart... which is so far from the truth that it's laughable...
