http://politix.topix.com/homepage/7351-did-th... Dropping those bombs on all of those INNOCENT men, women, and children was WRONG! It was COWARDLY and EVIL! If America was angry because of the attacks on Pearl Harbor, it should have went after the Japanese military, not INNOCENT CIVILIANS! And you wonder why America was hated so much that wahabi extremists came to America and murdered three thousand people in less than two hours with hijacked jets!

And the only 'Hope' for YOU is the Gospel Message that the Lord Jesus Christ and the apostle Paul preached. But you, obviously, aren't smart enough to REALIZE that.

The majority of wars throughout history were won based on civilian casualties. It's only with more modern warfare that has changed. If we hadn't dropped the bomb you'd be eating a lot more sushi and speaking German.

In a perspective 60 years from when it took place you can feel it was wrong but you might not be here if they hadn't dropped those bombs.

When allied forces landed on Iwo Jima, 26,000 Americans died and that was just a small spit of an Island.

When allied forces landed on Okinawa, 49,000 Americans died and that was one of the smaller Islands that make up Japan.

If the US continued on the island to island invasion realistic estimates show that over 1 million Americans would have died and that was at the time considered to be a conservative estimate. The US population was around 130 million at that time. Had we not dropped the bomb many of us would not be here.

wtf did todays Islamist terrorists have to do with Japan and II WW?

there are several reasons why muslim extremists hate US

1. America’s Support of Israel. To the West the establishment of the nation of Israel is a grand attempt to provide a safe-haven for the millions of Jews dispersed throughout the world. These Jews, who have faced persecution and attempts (such as the Holocaust) to annihilate them, to the Western mind deserve their own homeland. This comes on the one-hand from a sense of shame on the part of the civilized nations of the world which allowed the gas chambers and concentration camps to treat the Jews in this way. On the other-hand, this comes from the strong connection between Israel and America. Many Israeli citizens share dual-citizenship and moved from America to Israel when the nation was established. This created a relationship not unlike that which exists between England and America, her former colony. In addition, the fact that Israel is the only representative democracy in the Middle East, further cements this bond.

To many Muslims the existence of Israel is not viewed the same way. In spite of the fact that Palestine, prior to Israeli independence, was not under the organized control of the Palestinians--and the fact that many Palestinian Muslims are citizens of Israel, some view the very existence of Israel as something which has displaced Palestinians from their homeland leaving them “robbed of life, property and dignity”(Batarfi).
Although Israel has made concession after concession to provide for an independent Palestinian state, some segments of the Muslim community throughout the world continue to affirm the goal of destroying the nation of Israel. This was true of Saddam Hussein’s Baathist party, who repeatedly expressed its desire to “push Israel into the sea”(Shuster). It is true of the current President of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. In an October 5, 2005 conference in Tehran, entitled The World Without Zionism, he quoted Iran’s noted Imam, Ayat Allah Khomeini declaring,“Israel must be wiped off the map”(“Ahmadinejad”). It continues to be true of the elected Hamas party leadership in Palestine. With the United States as the largest political, economic and military ally of Israel there is no way to avoid incurring the hatred of those within the Islamic world who foster such contempt and anti-Semitism.
2. US Military Presence in Saudi Arabia. To Muslims, the Saudi Arabian peninsula is “holy” ground. It houses two cities sacred to Islamic tradition: Mecca & Medina. When the United States first stood in alliance with other countries to oppose Saddam Hussein’s seizure of Kuwait in the first Gulf War, the government of Saudi Arabia allowed the United States to set up military bases on this “sacred ground” because it feared that Saddam would move from Kuwait into Saudi Arabia. These bases are still in Saudi Arabia, and are one of the main reasons that Osama Bin Laden opposes the United States (Beeman).

It has EVERYTHING to do with it because it shows a pattern of behavior on America's part that is consistent with a greed and arrogance that has resulted in America becoming one of the most hated nations in the world. There are millions of good, loving, caring, down-to-earth people in America, but there's also an element of America that is evil and selfish and greedy. And that 'element' is responsible for America being attacked on Pearl Harbor, and in Lower Manhattan in 2001. When someone hates you enough to fly a 767 jumbo jet into a 110 story building at 590mph, don't tell me it's because 'We're the brightest beacon of freedom on earth'! Oh, is THAT what it is??!! Guess all of those innocent civilians in the middle east being killed by all of those drones and fighter jets had nothing to do with wahabi terrorists storming the cockpits of jetliners and killing innocent pilots so they could kill thousands more on the ground had nothing to do with it, huh??!

Look, you can stick your twisted logic up your solid waste canal and burp it back out, as far as I'm concerned! Dropping bombs on innocent men, women, and especially children is evil, deplorable, and COWARDLY!!! If America dropped bombs on civilians to save military lives, then America was a MURDERING COWARD of a nation!!

I believe you are comparing apples, and oranges. WW2 caused the civilian deaths of many civilians on ALL sides with the Russians probably loseing the most. The historical perspective of the use of the atom bomb was to save an estimated 1,000,000 American military dead, or wounded. Pleaseattempt to explain why this applys to the 09/11 attacks, if you can. War is not fun for living things. Do you think the American people as a whole want to see civilians die? It tends to piss people off when their children are killed, and causes a desire to kill the killers, starting a never ending cycle of violence. While I personally hate the fact that atomic weapons were ever created by humans, that could choose to use them again, civilians dieing in war is nothing new. I am not saying that it is good but violence begets violence, still.

You will notice that World War 2 was a world war. America was NOT the only country to drop bombs that killed civilians. We were not the only country involved with Iraq, or Afganistan. I am not condoneing these wars, just trying to really keep it real. Sorry you seem to hate America so much, but I realize the history taught today is not the history I was taught.

You DO agree that it was 'cowardice' that destroyed the twin towers of New York, RIGHT??! Then why would it not be COWARDLY to murder 100,000 innocent men, women, and children just to persuade evil Japanese leaders to surrender?! America will send out hundreds, and thousands of police, and military personnel when it's believed an American child may be in danger. But NEVER MIND the INNOCENT Asian children who will have their innocent little lives taken by two atomic bombs!! AGAIN, as I'm getting older, I'm REALLY starting to REALIZE why so many other nations HATE America so much sometimes!
