Yes, "chattiness" helps ,too. Do you work at all, possibly at a computer?
Lol. Yes, I work. Possibly at a computer ;)

Right now, however, I am recovering from surgery, my hubby is away and my kidlets are at Grandma's until the end of the summer school holidays, so I'm mostly working from home because I can do that and topix came to my attention so I thought I'd check it out, it's a good distraction :)

Ah, a 'Presby'- Reformed theology. Never attended one ,but do agree with many tenants they hold to (well, depending on division) and some do have opposing eschatological leanings.
Not a whole lot of division going on here, I wouldn't go at all if there was. I think they're non-orthodox, just talk about God's Word and have nice pot luck dinners and lunches, very kid friendly and friendly in general, nice kind humble folks. If they came here some of them would drop dead of shock on the spot I think, others would promptly run away and never come back. A few might start a revolution against topix. Lol...

Too many here using the Christian bible as a source for determining this "end of times", when will people learn that the bible's purpose was to control primitive people. Not saying that its not needed in this day and age, some are still pretty damned primitive and barbaric and there are plenty that could learn from some of the good examples in the Bible. But it shouldn't be used as a solid base in reality when determining actual events that will or will not take place. Its not to be taken literally. Its full of metaphors and is open to personal interpretation on an almost ridiculous level. Especially when you consider the completely immoral implications that are represented there in. But to answer the question originally asked on this thread you can rest assured that we are not living in the "end of times" on a global scale. The earth will remain here long after we are gone. Now of a more "civilization" scale, well I suppose that's up to us now isn't it. On a personal note, I do not believe there is anyone watching over us, keeping is in line or making sure we are ok....we are own our own here folks. For better or worse its up to us to make our own future.
Hello Companion,pleasure,

I can agree with some you wrote here, such as not living in any kind of "end times". Other things could be debated, but I don't wish to veer from the topic.

As far a Biblical genres, context usually determines that. Where I feel many err in some books (letters, really) such as "Revelation" , is a near lateralisation of events. It's known as "Newspaper Eschatology" - trying to 'shoehorn' current events into prophetical literature, reader/audience relevance be damned.

A "revolution against Topix.." LOL! That's been going on...another story...

What I meant by "divisions" was denominational, not within the particular church. Such here we have PCA (Presb. Church of America) and PCUSA (Presb. Church USA)...one is more conservative than the other(which would be the PCA).

Addiction? Possibly, I guess I'll find out when I have less time to come on...hubby's a Soldier, thus idiotic comments here about my 'supporting' war, what Army wife 'supports' war????

Four Lessons Learned on Your Journey (2)
Jas 1-2, Matt 9:27-38, Ps 91, Pr 3:3-4

'Call to Me and I will...tell you...things you do not know.' Jeremiah 33:3

Third, you learn the secret of prayer. Do you feel lost in unfamiliar territory, uncertain as to what your next move should be? God uses such times to get your attention, call you back to Himself and encourage you to lean on Him, your unfailing source of strength and wisdom. Stop trying to figure everything out by yourself! God says,'Call to Me and I will answer you and tell you...things you do not know.' Take your problems to the Lord and ask Him for a solution; He won't disappoint you.'...The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.'(James 5:16) Fourth, you learn the power of patience. When the Holy Spirit gives you direction and puts a goal or dream in your heart, it's easy to be quick on the trigger and want it to happen overnight. Timing is crucial. And it's under God's control, not yours! Waiting for God's timing isn't wasting time, it's essential in developing two qualities you need--faith and hope.'But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.'(Romans 8:25) While you are learning patience, God is at work arranging things on your behalf, and also producing Christ-like qualities in you. The Psalmist said that his hope was in God. What's your hope in? Good luck? The economy? The doctor's prognosis? As long as your hope is in anything other than God's unfailing love and goodness, you'll wrestle with uncertainty. What's the answer?'...Their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord.'(Psalm 112:7)

Hi Senecus!, I noticed you asked a question. I'm looking forward to having a discussion with you, it's just that I am out the door (literally) and very busy at the moment, but I will be back in a few hours. I just did not want you to think I had forgotten you... Love in the Lord. SL :)

Hello "Angel Heavens", and ...do I know you from somewhere, another thread or profile?

No, I wouldn't think you've 'forgotten' me:)

Bring in an 'open forum' format many pick up a post to start a conversation...

and I look forward to it ,too, sometime later ,as I must be out to do some work soon myself.

Thanks for the response:)

Exactly right! It IS up to us and ONLY us!
WE are the "god" we're looking for!
Have you ever heard this quote "You get what you expect"? Well, it's working with humans but in a negative way. We can talk ourselves into believing anything, so why don't we talk ourselves into a more positve direction?
YES, we CAN keep children from starving.
YES, we CAN respect each other as PEOPLE no matter what our "superficial differences".
YES, "THOSE OTHERS" CAN exist in this world the same as us and "they" are not "the wrong (religion/race/gender/too poor/whatever). After all, they're just here like we're just here.
We are only in the "end times" because we WANT to be.
It seems like the human race is on a mass murder-suicide mission, with the bible and other holy books as the weapons.
Even the "thou shall not kill" "god" is a killer in the bible: The flood, his bloodthirsty "plagues", the list goes on.
The homo sapien brain is very suggestible, especially when you show it flashy, shiny imagery and use the most graphic terms possible.
Well, I say STOP!
STOP INSTIGATING ARMEGEDDON!
"Armegeddon" is nothing more than the mass murder-suicide of the entire human race, human self-extinction.
Let's STOP BULLSH!TTING OURSELVES TO EXTINCTION!
