Surfing requires expectancy. You have to see the wave coming and begin to move with it before it arrives.

Yes, God is always moving. Yes, the Spirit is always being poured out. However, there are seasons when God moves sovereignly in an even greater way. America experienced such moves in the First and Second Great Awakening. Our nation desperately needs a third.

Whether or not this next move of God rises to that level or not may depend on how we choose to anticipate and move with Him.

Consider how most people attend church on Sunday with an expectation to hear a sermon about God. Few come with an expectancy to actually meet God. Imagine the shift that would take place in your church if the majority came this weekend with a genuine expectancy to experience God rather than a service.

The greatest move of God this world has ever seen is not behind us—it is ahead of us! There truly is a wave coming. Don’t be content to sit on the beach and watch others enter in. Push out into the deep with eager anticipation. Surf's up!

Randy Clark: Waking Up the Church

CBN.com
– RECLAIMING THE POWER OF IMPARTATION

Randy Clark defines the power of impartation as receiving divine grace to do be able to do in the natural what humanly can't be done – it's a supernatural gift from God. It comes by faith and is rooted in Jesus' death on the cross and the complete work of the cross. Jesus died not only to give the gift of salvation and eternal life, but also give the power of signs and miracles. This is not an addition, but the completion of the work of Jesus' cross.

The primary purpose for these manifestations is to reveal the nature of God – love, kindness, generosity, etc. God should receive the glory. This is a biblical doctrine that is almost forgotten today. Randy says it is almost forgotten because a lot of people haven't heard of it. Also, it hasn't been taught because many times most theology hasn't supported it because it is not the experience of many theologians. Even though Randy went through seminary, it was over a decade before he heard about impartation, or anointing.

Randy's first encounter with impartation happened when he wanted to go to St. Louis to plant a church. He was kind of apprehensive because he was afraid he would fail. But, God's power helped him overcome the fear and he was able to plant the church.

People should not let their spiritual experiences overshadow God's Word. Randy says his strongest rebuke from God came when the Lord told him he was not to become an experience-based preacher. Randy should teach the Word and let his experience rise up to the level of the Word, instead of letting experiences dictate who God is and what He will do or how we interpret the Word.

HOW TO RECEIVE THE IMPARTATION

Randy wants to make an important clarification: the laying on of hands is certainly not the ONLY way of receiving an impartation from God. It is simply one of two ways seen in Scripture, the other being waiting on God through prayer. However, it is a means often forgotten and neglected by the Church. Because of the diversity of Christian experience, people may ask how does one receive the impartation of a specific anointing or a baptism of the Spirit?

Unfortunately, church traditions tend to reduce the ways of God to steps and stages that leave little room for God to pour out His multi-faceted grace in ways uniquely suited to each of His children.

In the history of the church, there have been two basic approaches to receiving impartation. The first is to try to pursue holiness as a matter of conquering sin in one's life.“When one has become sanctified, then one is eligible for a powerful impartation."

The second approach is to simply put one's faith in the finished work of Jesus and know this as truth in one's life. Randy says the only true prerequisites in receiving more of the Holy Spirit are quite simple.

There are three:

1) Be aware of the personal inadequacy in our Christian life. We must come to a place of facing our weakness and inability to affect the work of the Kingdom.

2) We must earnestly desire for this condition to change. We must allow the Holy Spirit to develop within us a serious desire to be victorious Christians.

3) We must want our lives to honor God and be used in His service and for His glory. We do not ask for a spiritual high to make us feel good. Rather, we ask for power and gifts to make up commensurate to the task before us of binding the “strong man” of Matthew 12:29 and plundering his home.

If someone doesn't manifest the spiritual gifts right away, Randy doesn’t condemn them, but encourages and strengthens the person. He does not say it's because of a lack of faith. There are times we do not understand the mysteries of God, but we should come with expectation.

THE FRUIT OF IMPARTATION

Randy says the gifts aren’t seen much today because people aren't expecting much, or don't truly believe God will do what He says. The impartation is needed today to continue the Lord's work. Christians will be known for their fruitfulness. Randy adds that it is the fruit talked about in John 15 - the miraculous - not limited to the fruits of the spirit mentioned in Galatians. The primary purpose for these manifestations is to reveal the nature of God – love, kindness, generosity, etc. God should receive the glory.

An example of the fruit of impartation is Rolland and Heidi Baker, long-term missionaries in Mozambique. Rolland is the grandson of Pentecostal missionary to China H.A. Baker, and grew up hearing about the miraculous work his grandfather did. Rolland and Heidi went to Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship (where the Toronto Blessing occurred) at different times and were touched by God and His power. They received words about spiritual revival for Mozambique. The Bakers prayed for the local people to receive healing and they did. Through the years, they have seen lasting fruit in the country. They have started 7,000 churches, seen almost a million converts, and as of March 2006, 54 people raised from the dead mostly in Muslim provinces.

THE BLESSING

On January 20, 1994, Randy walked into a small storefront church in an industrial park near the Toronto Airport. What was supposed to be a 3-day meeting has lasted until the present day attracting crowds from around the world. News of God’s visitation quickly spread. In all his meetings, Randy prays a simple prayer,“More, Lord. More of Your Spirit.” In the years since the Toronto Blessing, Randy has chauffeured the Holy Spirit into hundreds of cities around the world, reaching out to many cultures and denominations. As he travels he preaches a simple message:“God wants to use you.” Randy believes he has failed if he hasn’t instructed people that Christians should share their faith, pray for the sick, and learn how to cast out demons.“That’s part of the Gospel. It’s not peripheral,” he says. The late John Wimber prophesied over Randy Clark in 1984 that he had an apostolic call on his life and would one day have a translocal ministry of impartation. The prophecy seemed outrageous at the time because Randy had never left the continental US nor was rarely asked to speak anywhere.

Randy grew up in a fundamentalist Baptist Church and came to know the Lord intimately following a car accident at age 18. Following many meetings with John Wimber, Randy says the Lord directed him to establish a Vineyard Church in St. Louis in 1986 where only 11 people came in the first 11 months. This “desert experience” was felt by many in the mid-80s and by 1993; he was discouraged, miserable, and distressed. That summer Randy attended a Howard-Browne conference in Tulsa that changed his life. He says he was touched, received an impartation forcefully by the Holy Spirit and healed of a nervous condition. The next Sunday back in his home church, Randy reports that a worshipper “fell under the power of the Spirit.” She lay on the floor for 45 minutes, laughing and slapping her thigh. Word quickly spread in Vineyard circles about what was happening in St. Louis. Randy was invited to speak at regional and national denominational meetings where he says the Spirit moved powerfully. He was then invited to speak in Canada where God used him to begin the Toronto Blessing.

..........the "women" left their post of duty and wandered into promiscuous relationships with the spirit of this world, resulting in defeat. Sometimes things do not appear fruitful to the natural eye that are actually exceedingly rewarding in the realm of the Spirit. That is why our eyes must be focused on the eternal realm rather than the natural. Otherwise, a door can be opened to the spirit of compromise.

Behold, I will throw her on a bed of sickness and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of her deeds. And I will kill her children with pestilence, and all the churches will know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts; and I will give to each one of you according to your deeds. Revelation 2:22-23

----------The Lord is to be the Husband of the Church, and any relationship with man that usurps the rightful position of the Lord as Bridegroom is considered spiritual adultery. The spirit of compromise will always try to convince the covenant people of God to relinquish their promised heritage for a counterfeit relationship that seems appropriate at the time.

That was the teaching of Balaam that eventually led Israel into God's judgment. Balaam was unable to curse Israel, therefore he convinced her to compromise her covenant with God by intermingling with Balak and the people of Moab.

And Moses said to them, "Have you spared all the women? Behold, these caused the sons of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to trespass against the LORD in the matter of Peor, so the plague was among the congregation of the LORD. Now therefore, kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman who has known man intimately. But all the girls who have not known man intimately, spare for yourselves." Numbers 31:15-18

----------Ours is an admonition of separation and purity while patiently waiting on the promised union with the Lord Jesus. It is the counsel of "compromise" to lead us away from that position at all costs.

The The "way of Balaam" is the covetous conduct of the ones structurally described as "hirelings," whose primary motive is to commercialize their divine gift.(Photo via Wikimedia Commons by Pieter Lastman)

Forsaking the right way, they have gone astray, having followed the way of Balaam, the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness. 2 Peter 2:15

The "teaching of Balaam" is the teaching of the mercenary ministry counseling the Church to abandon godly separation and noble character in favor of worldly conformity.

But I have a few things against you, because you have there some who hold the teaching of Balaam, who kept teaching Balak to put a stumbling block before the sons of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols and to commit acts of immorality. Revelation 2:14

Very often, following this path will seemingly bring quick results and attract scores of people with much less spiritual resistance. Nonetheless, the conclusion after all has been done is death and fruitlessness.

Balaam taught Balak to corrupt the people who could not be cursed by seducing them to marry Moabite women and commit spiritual adultery. That is the motivation of "compromise," as outlined in Bob's vision. He could not conquer these gallant "warring women" in battle, therefore the only hope for victory was to corrupt them by seduction with the spirit of the world.

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God. 1 Corinthians 2:12

----------If the "women" had remained at their appointed abode, as was their initial responsibility, they would have become fruitful and productive. Because they allowed "compromise" to deceive them, their lives were ended and their children were left to be raised as orphans in an unsupervised manner. The Lord desires women (churches) to be loyal to their Husband and abundantly fruitful – producing offspring to the glory of God.

..........Compromise will always lead us into wrong relationships. Concession leads to death, while faithfulness leads to repentance, answered prayer, and victory. Even though the "night hours" seem long and sometimes lonesome, it would be compromise to depart from that place of responsibility and enter relationships unlawfully, leading to our demise.

With those conclusions, Bob departed the mountain, realizing the destructive qualities of compromise.

A Glorious Future

The Sword and the Song by Donna SmallenbergThe most grievous aspect of the vision was the great future forfeited by the powerful women (churches) here illustrated. Even though they had been victorious and productive, their most rewarding years were ahead of them if they could have overcome the deceptions of "compromise."

These churches had been powerfully anointed warriors of the faith. The enemy was unable to destroy them during the "day" seasons, but only during the "night." If the women had remained in their post of duty, the enemy would have had no access or opportunity to destroy them. Nevertheless, weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes with the morning light.

All of the strongholds of the enemy are designed to obscure our knowledge of God and His thoughts and ways through discouragement, depression, and self-pity. When our vision has been thus impaired, alternative courses are introduced that will seemingly take us to our desired destination but are not the "thoughts and ways" of God. We must not be willing to give an inch in our commitment to the Lord and our walk with Him – not even for the most noble of causes.

Through this prophetic analogy, the women lost their first love and compromised their chastity to follow the leadership of men whom they perceived would make them more fruitful and productive. In reality, their decision cost them their lives. Our battlefield is in the souls of men where our mind, will, and emotions reside. The weapon of our warfare is divinely powerful...the Word of God rightfully appropriated by the Spirit of Truth.

For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:4-5

It is through faith AND patience that we inherit the great promises that are rightfully ours. The greatest days for the Church of Jesus Christ are directly ahead of us. Our desolate heritages are being restored to be mingled with the fresh and unprecedented release of God's great grace. Even so, Lord Jesus...come.

Despite the women's powerful attributes and their numerous victories, their strength was no match for "compromise." Compromise will always destroy the most powerful of warriors.

Samson was the most anointed man of his day; yet compromise in one small area of his life cost him the anointing and the many victories that could have been achieved had he remained faithful. It was the Lord's great grace that restored Samson in the end and allowed one final victory with his death. However, it would have been the much greater testimony to remain faithful to the end, giving no place to compromise.

But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor. Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.–2 Timothy 2:20-21

The end-time scenario is beginning to take shape and the players are starting to take their position in the dramatic unfolding of events prophetically observed by prophets throughout history. Hunger and desire to become vessels of honor is being imparted to those heeding the call to get ready. It is our prayer that each person will respond with favor and give the Holy Spirit permission to fully clothe them with Himself and the revelation of His Word, making us the instruments of His warfare and “useful for the Master and prepared for every good work."

A Threefold Mandate

Clearly, there are many purposes for which we are being equipped and prepared. However, three notable divine mandates begin to emerge as our primary focus. First, our highest purpose and the one instrumental in allowing us to achieve all others purposes and mandates, is to know God as personally and intimately as He may be known. There is an open door and a call to come up higher to a place of fellowship and exchange with the Creator and establish friendship with God.

From that place of communion we begin to receive the unveiling of His nature and attributes that are not merely intellectual perceptions but revelation and comprehension of His Person. The prophet Isaiah was given the great privilege of seeing heaven's design before the throne of God as Seraphim spoke one to another declaring "Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord of Hosts.”

They were allowed to see with their eyes demonstrations of His majesty and authority and give expression to it. Their words began to fill the temple with smoke and Glory by witnessing with their eyes and expressing with their lips the revelation of God sitting upon His throne in absolute and perfect supremacy and sovereignty.

As the Seraphim gave Glory to Him and He received the Glory due Him, more of his Divine attributes began to be revealed causing an even greater expression of praise and Glory. This Kingdom exchange and heavenly design continued filling the atmosphere with the Glory and illumination of God until the entire temple was saturated with the appearance and revelation of His Glory.

That is the order of Heaven that is to be transferred to the earth providing the second end-time mandate: to create an atmosphere on the earth that is consistent with His nature and character in which He can dwell.

If we can fulfill this mandate, all the other purposes and desires for which we long will naturally be established and achieved by His Presence and anointing resting in us. We must likewise become the instruments that create a similar atmosphere on earth so He can tabernacle among us and accomplish all that He has foretold for this generation.

I can hardly wait for the sequel, Watchman, Watchman, What of the Night?(Note: Watchman, Watchman, What of the Night? is Now available...

This is that time in history in which God is raising His prophets for His end-time purposes. "If a prophet or a dreamer of dreams arises among you"... Deuteronomy 13:1 makes it unequivocal that the Lord regards prophets and dreamers as one and the same.

Unfortunately, the Body of Christ for the most part, has not yet grasped that.

It is imperative that at least His prophets, and hopefully the entire Body, come to comprehend how important this aspect of prophets' equipment actually is, and that all His prophets become adept both in having their own dreams and in interpreting theirs and those of others.

One cannot read Parables in the Night Seasons without awakening to the need to go to sleep and dream. If for that reason alone, the book is timely and a valuable gift from the Lord for this time especially

The following quote was attributed to Ecclesiastes 38:4: "The Lord hath created medicines out of the earth, and he that is wise will not abhor them." The correct source of this quote is Ecclesiasticus 38:4, which is a book that is omitted from the Jewish scriptures and Protestant Bibles.

Due to a typo, the movie states: "All cancers, in absolutely every category, rapidly die whenever body pH goes beyond 8.5." In actuality, sustaining a pH of 8.5 is likely impossible and the correct number is 7.5.
