People might begin to tell you that you have a “different spirit” about you. When I was very young, people would tell me that I had a different spirit. I didn’t know what they were talking about. I thought, It’s because I’ve got dark hair and they are blonde or something. In college, people told me they were afraid of me, because my eyes seemed to look right through them.

“Well, I can’t look right through you!” I answered. I had no idea. I didn’t correlate any of those things with having a prophetic ministry.

As Samuel experienced, the Lord might appear to you. Not only did the Lord speak to Samuel, calling him by name, but 1 Samuel 3 says that the Lord appeared to Samuel “again” or “often” there at Shiloh.

The people around you might inadvertently begin to hint at your calling. They might suggest you’re strange. They might say,“How did you know that? That must have been God!”

Then leaders will begin to recognize your gift. But remember the truth of Proverbs 18:16: If you have a gift, it will make room for itself. God will open the door to you. He is the One who called you—He can bring His call to fruition in your life.

Keep in Mind

The first portion of your training as a prophet is the “called” portion. It is the seemingly ambiguous time of walking around and doing strange things, parents not understanding you, friends not understanding you, spouses not understanding you. Sometimes, depending on your choices, you become a better person during this initial “shakeup”; sometimes you become worse. In 1980 when I had my first visitation, I became a better man, and my wife was so happy! She knew something had happened because I wasn’t the same yucky guy I had been before it happened. Everything began to get better: our jobs, our businesses, our marriage, our finances. Something cataclysmic and good had happened to me, and it changed our lives.

Being called to the prophetic office is not an easy thing. There is “prophetic blood” you spill that nobody knows about. There are tears you shed in private, and at the time you shed them, it seems that nobody understands them.

But here’s the key: God is the One who called you, and He is the One who can bring that call to fruition in your life. The Bible says He actually stores your tears. Why would He do that if they didn’t matter to Him? Not one of them is lost. So if you’re dealing with any of the difficulties we talked about in this article, take heart. God is your support, and He can cause all things to work out for your good.

A greater Glory

By Chad Taylor

A greater glory is coming that surpasses the efforts of man. A greater glory is coming that will eclipse the former in a moment of time. I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh not just a few. I am going to pour out My Spirit on you despite yourself. I am going to fill you with a Spirit of joy and fire.

I am going to pour out a glory that books have not written about. I am going to pour out a glory that cannot be captured in photographs and news articles. Only the hearts of the healed will be able to contain this glory says the Lord. A glory that crushes the feeble walls of division that separates and segregates. A glory that will cause My church to finally see her true destiny, the nations.

I will pour out a glory in the coming days that will heal the demon possessed in a twinkling of an eye. No books will define their deliverance, it will be supernatural. Like Legion, they will be in their right mind and fully clothed. This kind of glory will you walk in. This kind of glory will My people of sacrifice experience. Willing to sacrifice religious dogmas and rituals. Willing to embrace My true liberty of love and grace.

A glory that will tear down ancient gates of poverty and sickness that control whole cities and regions. My people will stand at the gates of these places and pull them down. From these places will come a harvest that periodicals and pictures cannot express. No statistics or numbers will be able to calculate what I am about to do. Through you.

I will pour out My Spirit on your handmaidens and upon your servants in this hour. No one will be out shined or put down in this hour. They will all walk in My Spirit and shine. They will walk into the cities of different countries and My glory will shine round about them. Kings will come to the brightness of its rising. Generational curses and bondages will break in a blinking of an eye. Whole countries will be set free from these missionaries of glory.

My glory will compel an army of youth into the nations. They will rise up amid mid-terms in colleges and universities to go. In mid stride toward their futures they will stop and go. I will send them like I sent Paul the Apostle. They will go where Christ has not been preached. To the uttermost parts of the earth.

My glory will draw whole cities together for meetings that will last weeks, months, and years. I will give a special anointing to some churches to even sustain city wide revival for years. All tribes and tongues will come in with no other agenda but to praise Me. No other focus but My heart. They will leave My glory cloud and take their city. Public places will become healing centers and glory houses as I move through My people. The simple and the contrite.

My glory will be seen in this hour. Not a glory that builds ministries or people, but a glory that builds My Kingdom. Those that seek first My Kingdom will see this glory. They will see Me high and lifted up even in this present life. They will see My face in all of its splendor and might. Look up My people, the harvest is white with My glory.

Some prophets will be single, but many will be married. The wife of a prophet often carries a heavy burden.

Men called to the prophetic ministry are usually very thick skinned. They need to be to fulfil their calling.

I will make you as unyielding and hardened as they are. I will make your forehead like the hardest stone, harder than flint (Ez 2:8,9).

Today I have made you a fortified city, an iron pillar and a bronze wall to stand against the whole land-the kings of Judah, its officials its priests and the people of the land (Jer 1:18)

The wife of the prophet is not a fortified city. She is a precious vessel (1 Peter 3:7), who is vulnerable to attack. Because opposites attract, she is quite often a very sensitive person.

As the prophet moves into his calling, he must put protection in place for his wife. She needs to be surrounded by loyal and sympathetic friends, who understand her struggle and can provide encouragement and support. His calling to be a prophet must not be put ahead of his responsibility as a husband. His wife must not be sacrificed on the altar of the prophetic ministry.

When he receives a hard word, the prophet should have wrestled with God and gone through a process to be sure that the word is correct. His wife will not have gone through that process, so she will not be so sure that the word is right. She will remember the times that her husband has been wrong, whereas he will have pushed these down into a memory hole, so he can get on with his ministry. She will remember the harm done, and be concerned that he could be wrong again, so it will be difficult for her to share the same confidence in his words. He will need to understand this fear and help her to understand why he believes the world is right. She will need to trust him, for better or for worse.

People are often intimidated by a prophet. If they disagree with what he has spoken, they will often be scared to challenge him. Many will take the easy way out, and share their concerns with his wife, hoping that she will pass them on to her husband. This is a bad practice. The wife should point out that her husband is teachable and encourage the people to take their concerns to him directly. The elders should advice the people in the church not to mess with his wife, if they have an issue with the prophet.

Prophets tend to be very black and white, so they can easily hurt people. When a young prophet is starting out, he will not even be aware that he is doing this. Some will not worry about people being hurt, even if it is the fault. The prophet's wife will be much more sensitive to what is happening. She will pick up on all the unnecessary hurt and pain that he has caused. The prophet needs to learn from his wife. He should ask her about how people are responding to the way he speaks. He should use her advice to learn how to speak the truth in love.

Being a prophet is a tough calling. The wife of a prophet knows his integrity and the cost of his ministry, so she can be his main source of encouragement. Hopefully, she can build a home that is a place of refuge during times of stress.

The experience will be different for husbands of prophetesses. Their main challenge will be to ensure that their wives are not overworked by the church. The will need to check that Christians are not taking advantage of their wives good nature, when they should be seeking God for themselves. When a prophetess is attacked, her husband should stand beside her to protect from abuse.

Born to be Different

Why don’t I seem to fit in? Why is it that I seem different than others in my church? Why do people’s eyes seem to glaze over when I share a revelation that the Lord has given me?

I get so angry when I see sin in the world. I get so burdened when God reveals to me what is going on in the body. It would be better off if I didn’t know what was going on.

Why do I always see these things? I minister words of prophecy and encouragement to others, yet often I can’t get a word for myself. I am sometimes discouraged and depressed. I love God and serve Him with my whole heart. I pray and I cry, I cry and I pray. People think I’m weird. What is wrong with me?

You may feel enigmatic and people may not understand you, but be encouraged my brother, my sister. You’re not weird; may be called to prophetic ministry.

In Isaiah 40 we see that we prepare the way for the Lord by building a highway—a path built on God's higher ways. This highway is being built now and, in some ways, has been under construction since the King, Jesus Himself, walked the earth. This is why The Great Commission is not only to make disciples of individuals, but nations. The "go into all the world" is not merely geographical. True missionaries sent by God are now going into every field of knowledge, industry, and government. They are being sent to these fields to help build this highway.

In one parable, the Lord said that when He returns, He is going to separate the nations into two groups—sheep and goats. He gives the distinguishing characteristics of both. As we are called to be salt and light in this world, both watchmen and shepherds, we should care deeply that whatever nation we have been born into, or sent to, becomes a "sheep nation" and not a "goat nation."

God says, "7 “But now ask the beasts, and they will teach you; And the birds of the air, and they will tell you; 8 Or speak to the earth, and it will teach you; And the fish of the sea will explain to you. 9 Who among all these does not know that the hand of the LORD has done this, 10 In whose hand is the life of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind?" (Job 12:7-10). We know that each animals, birds and the fish of the sea is so uniquely designed that the foolish mind that believed evolution through Darwin's lies were not able to answer how such intricate design could come unless a designer design it individually?

Precious Jesus,

I acknowledge today that you are LORD and savior of all mankind,

and today I have recognized my shortfall,

I repent and turn away from all sin.

Please cover me with your precious blood,

and establish your word in my life,

that I may be found in righteousness and holiness

and write my name in your book of life

and baptize me with the power of the Holy Spirit

in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.

Amen.

In the initial chapters, Brooks shows you why a relationship with the Holy Spirit is so important. He is God on the earth. The Father is in heaven, and Jesus is seated at His right hand. By implication, since the Holy Spirit is the Person of the Trinity sent into the earth, it is absolutely essential that all believers learn how to communicate with Him correctly.

Operating in the nine gifts is one important aspect relating with the Holy Spirit. By the way, the nine gifts of the Spirit are the nine keys to experiencing God’s supernatural power in everyday life. Brooks reminds us that everything we need to know about walking in God’s power is already clearly revealed in Scripture.

Sovereignty or Spiritual Hunger? Six Key Factors that Birthed the Toronto Blessing | Research Paper
POSTED ON AUGUST 12, 2013 // LEAVE A COMMENT
imagesHere is the research paper I wrote for my summer class, History of the Charismatic Renewal.

I am becoming more and more convinced that revival is less a sovereign act than it is stewardship of the spiritual hunger that the Holy Spirit has placed in each of us. Even more specifically, it’s stewardship of the Person living within us, Holy Spirit. Could it be that we have the ability to LIVE in revival, 24/7 because we have the Spirit of revival actually dwelling our spirits?

When it comes to leaders in the body of Christ who have my greatest respect and honor, John and Carol Arnott, along with Randy Clark quickly reach the top of the list. Why? Their humility that made them hunger for more of God at any cost.

Men, It's Time to Come Clean

America is No. 1 in the world in many ways. Sadly, it's also No. 1 in the purveyor of pornography. Many believers are trapped. Depending upon what surveys you believe, as many as 40% of all Christian men need to come clean from sexual sin.

That's why it's important that we get the word out about Dr. Doug Weiss' new book, Clean, published by Thomas Nelson, which releases today. Instead of haranguing men about their lack of sexual integrity, this is a proven plan for men committed to stay clean. That's because all Christian men have been called to a life of sexual success.

Dr. Weiss is a well-known author and has written many books. I got an advanced copy of his book in February and read it. To me, it's the best book he's written. It's clear and concise, and it has a lot of new information not contained in his other books—things such as intimacy anorexia and the importance of holiness and how it relates to being clean sexually.

There have been only a few books on this topic that have been widely circulated. I am committed to helping to spread the word about this book because, in a world that is increasingly sexually promiscuous, the church must get its act together. The church must become clean.

We also need to get the word out on social media. Be sure to tell your friends and retail customers about it.

Charisma Media's New Man website has already run a couple of excerpts from Clean. Click here to read one of them.

Every Christian man is born into a sexual war. The enemy attacks the young, hoping to scar them permanently and leave them ruined. But your past is not enough to keep your from the enduringly clean life you want and deserve.

Clean is a priceless, no-nonsense resource for every husband, father, brother, son, friend, pastor and Christian leader on the frontlines of this war. It is a soldier's handbook for those ready to reclaim their homes, churches and nations for the God who has built them to succeed.

Dr. Weiss has been clean for more than 25 years, and he has devoted his life to helping other men achieve victory. "This book," says Dr. Weiss, "contains tested and tried weapons for you to get and stay clean—not for a week, month or year, but for the rest of your life."

Clean provides you with biblical, practical, dependable weapons for seizing and maintaining a clean life for yourself and those you love. You will even be equipped to reach out to your brothers-in-arms and teach them to walk with you in cleanness.

"If the devil wants war, bring it on!" says Dr. Weiss. Join the battle! Your sexual life is worth fighting for!

How Social Media Will Help Us Finish the Great Commission

Social media, such as Facebook, is a great way to spread the gospel.( creationswap.com )

The church is living in an age of tremendous evangelistic opportunity.
As we venture into the social, digital era, the gospel can travel further and faster than ever before. If the church is a vast volunteer army of people carrying the Good News of Jesus to the least, the lost and the last, then it is safe to say this army is better equipped and more effectively mobilized than any other age to carry out its marching orders — the Great Commission.

We began planting Grace Hills Church in the summer of 2011 and officially launched weekly services in a local movie theater in January 2012. We don't have a building. We don't have a sign. We've never done a direct mail campaign or sent any postcards. We don't advertise in the local newspapers or on television or radio. But in January 2014 alone, we met almost 100 new people in our weekend services. How? Facebook.
Each week, we post a short video just a few minutes long that explains who we are as a church, what we value and what we will be talking about in our upcoming weekend services. We then "boost" that post so that it sees thousands of eyes within a 10-mile radius around our community, and we challenge all of our faithful attendees to watch it, "like" it and share it with others. On Mondays, we look through our communication cards to see how our guests heard about us, and it's not difficult to spot the pattern: Facebook, Facebook, Facebook.

Why Social Media Works
There are plenty of skeptics who may read this and scoff. I've heard every conceivable criticism of social networking. It feeds narcissism, keeps us shallow, distracts us from real life relationships, wastes our time. While each of these arguments certainly can have some merit, they also represent a merely partial understanding of what is happening in our culture.

The fact is, most people are online. This is true of at least 95 percent of the unchurched people in our community, and it's even true on many mission fields. I was in Haiti a couple of years ago, and no one I met owned a television. Many didn't have electricity at all. But they owned smartphones and charged them at charging stations around the community.

Not only are most people online, but most people are also engaging in social networking. Every age group, from kindergartners to retirees, is connected socially. Today's youngest generation doesn't "connect" and then "disconnect" as we did 20 years ago. Most kids have no idea what it means to "dial up." Instead, the Internet is like a cloud in which we live and breathe. It is real life. Social media is about real conversations about real issues happening between real people in real relationships. And social media really works for spreading the gospel.

But Social Media Only Works If ...

Please don't misunderstand. Social media is not the universal cure for society's ills. It doesn't cleanse us from sin or feed all of the longings of the human soul. But it is a tool, a vehicle for sharing God's truth. Just as the early apostles used papyrus and the Reformers used the printing press, today's most effective Christian leaders and churches are using the Roman roads of our day — social networks. But it only works if we choose to engage.

Social media will only help us spread the gospel if we are bold enough to embrace the change happening around us, if we are wise enough to empower people with the tools to share Jesus relationally, and if we are courageous enough to engage the conversations happening in our culture and even step out and lead those conversations.

We still need healthy churches into which we can receive newcomers. We still need a clear gospel, a unified body and a process for making disciples and deepening the walk of new believers. But social media affords us the chance to return to social, relational, viral, mobile methodologies for passing the gospel along to the uttermost parts of the earth.

God wants us to be involved with His work. He is so gracious that by His Holy Spirit He freely distributes spiritual gifts to all who are saved. He not only wants us to know our spiritual gifts, but He expects us to grow in them each day.

The Bible tells us to use our spiritual gifts in love to glorify God and edify His church. He gives us opportunities every day to put our gifts to use and bless others. Will you seek a way to show the love of Christ and bear much fruit for Him today?

Testify

“Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking in the Spirit of God ever says “Jesus is accursed!” and no one can say “Jesus is Lord” except in the Holy Spirit. Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone.” 1 Corinthians 12:3–6

“Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual.” 1 Corinthians 2:12–13
