Biotin Side Effects

Although researchers have not yet been able to provide any concrete evidence, it is assumed that this vitamin has some minor side effects. In one case, it was noticed that high intake of vitamin B7 and vitamin B5 lead to a life-threatening condition called eosinophilic pleuropericardial effusion. It was assumed that, consuming both vitamins together leads to this condition.

Another test was conducted on a pregnant rat wherein it was given high doses of Vitamin B7. Later, it was observed that the placenta of the fetal rats decreased in size which, automatically, increased the probability of miscarriage.

Although, it's a very beneficial vitamin, intake of biotin should also be kept in check. Basically anything that is taken in excess is bound to affect your body in some way or the other. A daily adequate intake (AI) of biotin, for different age groups, is recommended by U.S. Food and Nutrition Board of the National Academy of Science's Institute of Medicine. Especially during biotin deficiency the intake should be strictly under medical supervision.

Unhealthy diet with poor nutritional value and carefree lifestyle leads to obesity. When it comes to losing weight, most of the time, a person is advised to take numerous corrective measures like altering the daily diet, introducing a few vitamin supplements and increasing frequency of the weight loss exercises. All in all, balanced intake of essential nutrition and organized exercise routine is the key to weight loss. As a matter of fact, in order to stay fit, our body requires about 13 essential vitamins, along with other minerals and fats. Amongst these 13 vitamins, 8 vitamins belong to the group of vitamin B. Any sort of imbalance with these vitamins can cause sudden changes in weight along with severe vitamin deficiency. Needless to say, this is where the idea of a connection between vitamin B complex and weight loss came forward. The following article deals with the concept as well as its pros and cons.

Vitamin B Complex in Relation to Weight Loss

As I said earlier, vitamin B complex is a group of 8 vitamins which are water soluble. They are, namely Thiamine (B1), Riboflavin (B2), Niacin (B3), Pantothenic Acid (B5), Pyridoxine (B6), Biotin (B7) and Folic Acid (B9) and Cyanocobalamin or vitamin B12. These vitamins are naturally available in various food sources like bananas and several other fruits, lentils, chili peppers and few other vegetables, liver, turkey, fish and liver oils, and also in brewer's yeast. If a person falls short of any of these vitamins, then the symptoms of vitamin B deficiency are not much pleasant. Along with several health conditions, the rate of metabolism gets seriously affected. Hence, one of the symptoms of vitamin B deficiency is weight gain or obesity, which further promotes several other harmful health conditions. Due to all this, there are strong claims about the connection between lack of vitamin B and weight loss. However, it is important to know that these vitamins are only helpful when they are consumed through the correct sources and the correct ratio. When a person is advised supplements, he also needs to follow a special diet plan and exercise routine, to gain maximum weight loss benefits.

Weight Loss Diet

Vitamin B1, vitamin B5, vitamin B6 and vitamin B12 are some of the strongest members of vitamin B complex family, when it comes to healthy weight loss. Hence, the injections for weight loss are recommended and also gaining so much popularity amongst the weight loss aspirers. However, vitamin B12 is said to be the best vitamin for weight reduction, amongst the vitamin B complex. It is the reason why vitamin B12 injections are often used for weight loss along several interchangeable combination of other vitamins, especially vitamin B6 and vitamin B1. These weight loss supplements shows several other benefits of vitamin B complex on the body, like maintaining hormonal secretion, increasing energy, relieving several health conditions like constipation, bulimia, indigestion, dry skin, DNA and RNA synthesis, improving memory and relieving depression and irritability, etc. Most supplements are introduced intramuscularly or intravenously in the body and it is even more important to consume such weight loss supplements only upon a proper medical intervention.

Vitamin B6 Benefits

Vitamin B6, a water-soluble vitamin of
B-complex group, is essential for normal
metabolic functioning of the body.
Some of the vitamin B6 benefits are
assimilation of nutrients, strengthening
the immune system, regulating blood
pressure, preventing heart disease,
and treatment of various nervous system
related ailments.

Vitamin B6, also known as pyridoxine,
is one of the important B-complex vitamins.
Chemically, it is soluble in water
(rather than fats), hence it belongs to the
water-soluble group of vitamins.

There are three primary forms of vitamin B6,
namely, pyridoxine (PN), pyridoxal (PL), and
pyridoxamine (PM). As per studies on
vitamin B6 properties, it is found that
pyridoxal 5'-phosphate (PLP), which is a
phosphate ester derivative, is the only
metabolically active form.

There are several benefits of vitamin B6,
which are crucial for the overall health of
an individual. Considering this, one should
include foods rich in pyridoxine in the regular
diet plan, so as to meet the daily requirements.
The recommended dietary allowance (RDA) of
vitamin B6 for an adult is 1.3 mg.

Sources of Vitamin B6

As the human body cannot
synthesize vitamin B6, it is
obtained from the ingested
foods and drinks. The dietary
sources of vitamin B6 include
a variety of fruits, vegetables,
legumes, cereals, fish, poultry,
and meat. Some of the foods
rich in this vitamin include
banana, avocado, walnut,
tomato juice, potato, soybean,
beans, spinach, oatmeal, wheat
bran, fortified ready-to-eat
cereals, milk, cheese, peanut
butter, eggs, tuna, salmon,
chicken breast, pork, and
mutton. Other than food sources,
vitamin B6 supplements are
available in the market, which
should be administered in correct
dosage. Otherwise, intake of high
dose vitamin supplements for a
prolonged period can lead to
medical problems.

Vitamin B6 plays a major role in
the coordination of the body's
metabolic processes. It is opined
that this B-complex vitamin
functions as a co-enzyme and
regulates more than 100 enzymatic
reactions. One such example is
conversion of the L-tryptophan
(an amino acid) to serotonin
(a neurotransmitter).

Overall, it ensures normal
functioning of the nervous system,
hormone regulation, tissue repair,
cell growth, and formation of red
blood cells (RBCs), nucleic acids
(RNA and DNA), and amino acids.

Following are some of the benefits
and uses of B6 vitamin.

Breakdown of Complex Nutrients
One of the major pyridoxine uses is
breaking down of complex nutrients
like proteins, carbohydrates, and fats
into simpler forms, which can be
easily assimilated by the body cells
and tissues.

Hence, people who are dieting on
high proteinaceous foods require
a relatively high amount of pyridoxine
than others.

Increases Nutrient Absorption

Doctors are of the opinion that
increased intake of vitamin B6
aids in better assimilation of other
dietary supplements and treatment
medications. This is the reason,
pyridoxine is used in specific
concentration along with other
B vitamins for vitamin B-complex
formulations.

Strengthens the Immune System

Vitamin B6 helps in synthesis of
lymphocytes (a type of WBCs)
and antibodies, which are
responsible for the body's defense
mechanism. In simpler terms,
this water-soluble vitamin promotes
the immune system of the body.
Hence, those suffering from
vitamin B6 deficiency manifest a
weakened immune system.
Relieves Edema Condition
One of the vitamin B6 health benefits
is relieving water retention or edema,
which results in swelling of the body
parts. Generally, B-complex vitamins
containing specific concentrations of
pyridoxine and other B vitamins are
recommended for treatment of edema.
Treatment for Hair loss
The benefits of vitamin B6 for hair
include preventing hair loss and
promoting hair growth. Other than
these, it helps in getting rid of dandruff
or seborrheic dermatitis. Many people
receive prompt results after using
vitamin B6 for treatment of skin
disorders like eczema, acne, and
psoriasis.

Treats Morning Sickness
Various studies have been done
with respect to vitamin B6 and
pregnancy. In a case study, it was
found that vitamin B6 can be used
for treatment of nausea, vomiting,
and other morning sickness
symptoms, which many women
experience during the initial months
of pregnancy.

Prevents Kidney Stones

Pyridoxine, in combination with
magnesium, is beneficial for
reducing the chances of kidney stone
formation. Together, they lower the
concentration of urinary oxalate in the
urine, which is responsible for forming
kidney stones.

Also, pyridoxine helps in maintaining
the electrolyte (sodium and potassium)
balance of the body.

Regulates Blood Pressure

Another benefit of vitamin B6 is
lowering the blood pressure and
cholesterol levels in the healthy way.
It also prevents the blood platelets
from sticking together. This shows
that vitamin B6 indirectly helps in
preventing blood circulation problems.

Prevents Heart Disease

In recent times, it has been discovered
that vitamin B6 also helps in preventing
heart diseases by lowering homocysteine.
When there is an insufficient amount of
pyridoxine in the body, homocysteine
level increases, which in turn damages
the lining of blood vessels. Overall, this
leads to plaque formation, thus increasing
the risk of heart diseases.

Other Health Benefits

In addition, vitamin B6 shows positive
results regarding treatment of problems
associated with magnesium deficiency,
autism, schizophrenia, depression, and
attention deficit disorder. Sufficient
intake of foods containing pyridoxine
reduces the chances of developing
Parkinson's disease.

Deficiency of Vitamin B6

As already discussed, pyridoxine is
crucial for the normal metabolic
processes of the body. Thus, low levels
of vitamin B6 for an extended period
can lead to various medical problems.
Usually, lack of this B-complex vitamin
occurs in individuals having a poor quality
diet and those who are on specific
medications. Also, it is observed that
alcoholic abusers are at a higher risk
of developing vitamin B6 insufficiency
symptoms than others. This is because
certain medications and alcohol disturb
the normal assimilation of vitamin B6 from
foods and drinks.

Some of the notable vitamin B6
deficiency symptoms are skin problems,
sore tongue (glossitis), mouth ulcer, anemia,
irritability, confusion, depression, and at times, seizures. As these health problems mimic other diseases, timely medical evaluation is advisable to avoid any health complications.
For combating the insufficiency symptoms,
the person should increase the dietary intake
of vitamin B6 or administer supplements.

To sump up, vitamin B6
benefits us in many ways
and lack of it leads to medical
problems. Though pyridoxine
supplements are effective for
treating deficiency symptoms,
excess intake can lead to nerve
damage in the arms, hands, legs,
and feet. In order to minimize the
risk of vitamin B6 overdose, it is
mandatory to include other B-complex
vitamins and magnesium supplements.
On a safety note, always take the physician's
advice while taking pyridoxine supplements.

The Powerful Role of Omega-3 Fatty Acids in Preventing Diseases of Inflammation: The Experts Speak

(NaturalNews) What do the top authors, doctors and health experts have to say about the realtionship between omega-3 fatty acids and inflammation? I asked my Private Research Library that question recently and was overwhelmed with the remarkable wisdom it revealed.

Below, I share the top quotes from noted authors about omega-3 fatty acids and their relationship to inflammation (and the diseases of inflammation). It's an astonishing tour through the highlights of how omega-3s affect the body's response to inflammation, and you'll learn important information about the role of inflammation in diseases like Alzheimer's, cancer, heart disease, diabetes, eczema, asthma and many others. You'll also see why inflammation can easily aggravate autoimmune disorders like Lupus and type-1 diabetes, and you'll find out which low-cost trace mineral boosts the assimilation of omega-3 fatty acids.

With all the interest in marine omega-3s today, you'll find this article fascinating. Keep in mind that most of the text here was written before green-lipped mussels or krill oil became known as available sources of omega-3 fatty acids, so most authors quoted below recommend cold water fish. Fish are a great source of omega-3s, but the mercury content they may contain makes them potentially more dangerous to your health than the benefits their omega-3 oils provide. So check your sources carefully and only buy from trusted companies that can demonstrate low mercury levels through laboratory analysis.

Omega-3 fatty acids and inflammation: What the experts say

The ability of omega-3 fatty acids to significantly reduce the risk of sudden cardiac death -- by 45 percent -- was demonstrated in the GISSI Prevention study, in which more than eleven thousand patients participated. A recent review of the use of omega-3 fatty acids in the treatment of hypertension found that omega-3s protect against stroke and reaffirmed that the cardioprotective benefits of omega-3 fatty acids are related to their ability to improve blood pressure, vascular function, lipid metabolism, inflammation, and cardiac function.

The omega-3 fatty acid-rich oils have been shown in hundreds of studies to lower cholesterol and triglyceride levels, including many studies in diabetics. The omega-3 fatty acids are being recommended to treat or prevent not only high cholesterol levels, but also high blood pressure, other cardiovascular diseases, cancer, autoimmune diseases like multiple sclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis, allergies and inflammation, eczema, psoriasis, and many others.

More than two thousand studies on omega-3 fatty acids have been published in medical journals, adding up to a wealth of persuasive data, and many studies have found that supplements and omega-3 rich foods can significantly reduce levels of several inflammation-promoting compounds in people: thromboxane B2, prostaglandin E2, interleukin-1, and C-reactive protein. In a very real sense, fish oils snuff out many of the matches of inflammation.

The most healthy fatty acids are found in fish oil, flaxseed oil (both have lots of omega-3 fatty acids), and borage oil (which has a type of omega-6 fatty acid, gamma-linolenic acid or GLA, that has many health benefits). These omega-3 and omega-6 fats stimulate the immune system and fightinflammation, a known cause of heart disease and many other chronic diseases. They also support optimal brain function. Fatty fish like salmon, tuna, and mackerel contain the highest concentration of omega-3s.

Alpha-linolenic is the precursor omega-3 to docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) found in flax and perilla seed oils. DHA and EPA modulate systemic inflammation by increasing the release of anti-inflammatory cytokines and inhibiting the release of proinflammatory cytokines (Venkatraman et al. 1999). DHA extracted from fish oil may be as effective as some prescription medications in reducing inflammation. EPA effectively limits the release of arachidonic acid found largely in meat products and known to increase inflammation

The omega-3 fatty acids in flax are converted into "good" (series 1 and 3) prostaglandins that may help reduce inflammation, pain, and allergic response in a number of conditions. In a study of patients with eczema (chronic, itchy inflamed skin), researchers fotmd deficient levels of omega-3 EFAs, EPA, and DHA in body tissues, combined with excessive levels of omega-6 EFAs. This study demonstrates the importance of higher omega-3 intake, as well as the need to achieve the correct balance betweenomega-3 and omega-6.

There are two types: omega-3 and omega-6. Omega-3 fatty acids are most important, as they bring balance to our hormones, reduce inflammation, regulate our blood sugar, prevent blood clotting, keep our cholesterol and triglycerides in balance, relax our blood vessels, and make our cells healthy and resilient.

You can thank the omega-3, or linolenic, fatty acids. Omega-3 appears to relieve the symptoms of [rheumatoid arthritis] so well that some people can cut back on NSAIDs. Stick with cold-water, fatty fish, like salmon, mackerel, albacore tuna, and herring, for the biggest boost. Between seafood suppers, try cooking with canola oil and making salad dressings with flaxseed oil. Cut back on omega-6, or linoleic, fatty acids, too. While omega-3 reduces the number of enzymes in your body that promoteinflammation, omega-6 encourages your body to make more. This is a tug-of-war you want omega-3to win.

There is not much fat in green, leafy vegetables and legumes (beans, peas, and lentils), and the fat that they have is strongly balanced toward anti-inflammatory omega-3 fatty acids, rather than other fats. Omega-3s encourage the production of helpful prostaglandins that inhibit inflammation, rather than those that fan the flames. In order to Bless the Jews, we first need to acknowledge the injustice done to both the Jews and the historical Jesus, who was himself a Jew who basically taught an enlightened form of Judaism.

So far every church still practicing replacement theology is not blessing the Jews at all, but is actually cursing the Jews.

Here is an example of a religion that at first appears harmless but is probably one of the most antisemitic of all of the religions that have fallen for the Roman hoax of Christianity and rejected the Jewish Jesus:

We all need to get informed as to the evil nature of the Roman hoax of Christianity and it's many derivatives that deny the Jewish GOD and the Jewish Jesus and get involved in restoring true Christianity based on the OMNIPRESENT GOD of Israel to humanity that is even now being found to be in accord with the latest scientific findings concerning the nature of the Cosmos!

Benefits of Vitamin B

The human body is a powerful tool. It has the ability of regeneration, repair, and knows better than anyone else how to best operate.

When the body is at its prime, it will be noticeable on the outside. Just as if one is eating too many fatty foods the outward appearance shows it, the same is if one is not consuming enough foods.

Enough of the right foods that is.

Certain foods (fish, wheat, meat, ect.) contain the vitamins, proteins, carbs, and minerals that are vital to the body. When one consumes the correct amount, he or she will take in the proper amount of natural vitamins. The results can be seen in a mirror.

Glowing, clear, young looking skin is one of the many benefits. But in todays time, it is very difficult to maintain a diet that ensures the proper amount of vitamins. When this is the case, pills and supplements are wondrous substitutions.

One of the most critical and effective vitamins when it comes to beautiful skin is Vitamin B. Even the smallest deficiency in this area can cause breakouts, and the proper dosage has proved to clear years of consistent acne. It is not a miracle, it is simply giving the body what it needs.

There are 3 main sub-types of Vitamin B that are crucial for clear skin: B5, B2, and B12.

Vitamin B5 is one of the most effective means of clearing acne as well as controlling any excess oil. Many causes of acne is the result of ones body unable to break down fats and oils due to a lack of coenzyme-A. This results in bacteria growth which acne feeds off of. The proper dosage of B5 creates a high amount of coenzyme-A, countering the problem. This water-soluble pill is safe for all, and is swiftly becoming a common cure for acne.

Vitamin B2, also known as Riboflavin, is taken to control acne breakouts as well as a number of other bodily issues. This vitamin, much like B5, helps with the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. Unlike B5 however, it also aids in the repair and growth of skin cells, hair, and nails. Liver spots, wrinkles, and post-acne marks are all unsightly on the face, but repair over time. When the growth of new skin cells is sped up, this healing process is also quickened. This vitamin has been known to be especially effective when taken alongside iron.

Vitamin B12 acts as a helper to other vitamins. It strengthens their dosage and increases the effects. It is a good vitamin to take alongside another as it also aids in the regeneration of new skin cells.

A Vitamin B complex pill has been a miracle cure for many, although there is nothing "miracle" about it. When one provides the body with its need nutrients, it will display a beautiful outward appearance.

"I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well." -Revelations 12:11
