The Dravidians- contrary to your flawed perception of them as 'dark and ugly' are of the same ethnic stock as the peoples of Asia Minor and Crete and the pre-Hellenic Aegean's of Greece. They are the very same people reputed to have built up the city civilization of the Indus valley, whose remains have been found at Mohenjodaro and Harappa and other Indus cities in Pakistan, and are the same people that largely populated Pakistan's most densely populated Punjab province, and its second most densely populated province of Sindh- therefore, they would warrant your respect. The Western Brachycephals- which include peoples of ethnic Iranian stock like the Parsis (predominantly from the Mazanderan province)- and of which India has by far the world's largest population, and other Iranian peoples of India, as well as the Alpinoids, Dinarics, Kodavas and Armenoids that populate the western side of the country in the Ganga Valley and the Delta, parts of Kashmir, Kathiawar, Gujaraat, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu- are also of a considerably lighter hue than your characterization of 'black'. And ofocurse, I have already mentioned the light-skinned Indo-Aryans and Nordic Indians of which the entire North of India (Vedic India as it is traditionally known) is populated.

The reason for your blight ignorance is perhaps the fact that South Indians are the 'face' of modern India - these states being among the most heavily industrialized and prosperous in the country, as well as being the epicenter of the IT industry. Perhaps you should take a trip to India to cure yourself of it.

On the more immediate question of which women are on average prettier, I personally have a greater leaning towards Indian women- and no, it is not because of nationalistic tendencies. You really need to see South Indian women to appreciate their charm, robust tan and the elegant way in which they comport themselves- and I mean by this the urban South Indian woman - as you no doubt also mean the urban Pakistani woman. Granted, the rural Indian woman has a problem with aging, with her skin usually becoming coarse and lined over the years- but this is borne of hard toil in the fields and work at home, alongwith the unfortunate practice of men being given more to eat to the direct detriment of women in poorer families. Ofcourse, all this is not hidden from view (as in under a burqa for example). The urban, middle-class South Indian woman though is of a different species, and takes far greater care of her physical appearance and demeanor than her rural counterpart.

Women of Western India- in particular Gujaraat- and Sindhi Hindu women settled in India are extremely fair-skinned. The following are but a sample of some- and could be appropriately be considered a template of physical features of the middle-class Gujarati woman:

Women of Norther India are similar in physical appearance to Pakistani women- as millenia of shared geography, demographics and history of the region would suggest. Women of Central India are somewhat darker skinned, but beautiful in a tribal sort of way nonetheless. Women of the East (Bengali women) are typically olive/light-brown skinned. While women of the North-East bear a striking resemblance to Tibetan women- which many consider to be among the most beautiful of Oriental women- having a large proportion of Tibetan migrants in them. It would interest you to know that the Christian-majority state of Mizoram and the states of Manipur, Agartala and Tripura have a very Western-dominated,'evangelized ' culture similar to the Phillipines while yet retaining their unique original customs. Your absolutist comment about the physical features of Indian women is therefore refelective of a myopic, distorted vision of the subject, is severely misleading, not to mention being completely factually INCORRECT.

Ofcourse 'good' and 'bad' looking are strictly matters of opinion, but to characterize an entire nation with what is ostensibly a fallacious and self-purportedly demeaning characterization based on ridiculously fallacious, improperly researched, purposively disseminated misnomer-based perceptions, is not in the least.

P.S.: To form generalizations about a nation as large as a billion people and of subcontinental proportions, and more diverse than Europe itself, based on what you see in the West: mostly South Indian techies with H1B visas is even more ridiculous.

Ofcourse, not everyone in these regions completely fit that description (as is the case in Pakistan as well) but most do. That in itself is a MAJORITY of the population of the country. Furthermore, anyone remotely acquainted with the ethnic demographics of India will tell you that, as a general rule, the upper castes: the Clergy (Brahmins), Warriors (Kshatriyeh) and Skilled Artisans-Workers (Vaishyas) in almost all parts of the country- including the South -(and also largely encompassing the strong urban middle-class) are also fair-skinned, tall and sharp-featured.

I really live in Canada, and to be honest I think Indian women are far far prettier, more refined and intelligent than their pakistani counterparts....i can tell the difference between indian, arab, iranian etc...there is simply no comparison. And contrary to popular belief that only 'some' pakistani women look like north indians, almost everyone in pakistani Punjab: 82 million people and most people in Sindh: 50 million, but let's assume half that number 25 million = 107 million out of a total population of 167 million look similar to North Indians. The only real 'iranian' looking people are the people of the tribal areas and the ethnic Iranian province of Balochistan, alongwith most elites in Karachi. I have had way too many crushes on Indian girls- especially lasses from Delhi and Indian Punjab- but was never to shy to tell them. They are a beautiful race no doubt- and not just the ones in the North, that beauty is manifested in diverse forms all over the country...However I wouldn't want both countries to join together- Pakistan has displayed a penchant for making some of the worst political and strategic decisions with amazing alacrity, not to mention the fact that they recrudescing into dire economic straits. They are still trying to resolve First order issues of state: be it the division of power, or the raison d'etre of the state, or society's grundnorms; while in India, while life is also hardball for the vast majority, it has transcended formulating basic norms of society and is now dealing - and successfully if the last 20 years of economic growth are any indication- with Second order issues of state: poverty, unemployment, illiteracy, strengthening human rights, etc. Until Pakistan demonstrates the resolve to deal with these most troubling, fundamental issues that plague it- the reason infact for the very real Talibanism that threatens it today, and their state's inability to combat it, having "both countries live together forever" would only hold back the one that is progressing.

The oft-parroted cliches of Pakistanis being a "nation of tigers (or lions was it?) led by donkeys" or of "Pakistan being the leader of the so-called Islamic world" have amounted to nothing, for the average pakistani still sits back at home and watches with passive apathy and routine lethargy his leaders make a mockery of the state, foreigners routinely violate national sovereignty and 'dark-skinned mohajirs'(ethnically inferior supposedly) and the politics of 'Punjabistan'( a province that sees more in common culturally with the folks across the border) run the national vaudeville or sectarian ballyhoos no less equal in measure to the spurt of sectarian violence against its Shia and other minorities by the Taleban. Nor for that matter does one see a great exodus of pakistani expats from the UK or USA, who will go to great lengths to demonstrate their superiority or martial 'lion-heartedness' on fora where it matters the least: viz. online, but will not fail to demonstrate the same sheepishness and weakness of heart when it comes to real action.

Maybe one day, when Pakistanis' misplaced belief in their own 'superiority'(to which they owe Zia no favors) comes to an end.
