Do Christians alone have to justify there beliefs or do others also have to? Which view of best explains reality?

the atheists don't believe God exists, yet they cannot explain who created everything with clockwork precision and where does the life come from and they won't be able to explain it in another 10000 years.

The debate pretty much finished for me

Why should I have to explain any of it? Believe as you please. I choose to use my time differently.

Nobody has to justify their beliefs unless they are trying to convince someone else of them. Personally, I don't believe in anything which is super natural. I believe that science has answered most questions pertaining to reality.

Science has come even close to explaining all of reality. There is no way for science to rule out the supernatural i.e. God, miracles etc because scientists would have to know the universe exhaustively since the beginning.

The atheist cannot just their atheism because there are no facts, no foundation to support it.

And the facts to support the existence of god are where?

God is the best explanation for the origin, design and fine tuning for the universe. The life of Christ is thee best demonstration for the existence of God.

The glaring lack of evidence for gods is support for atheism.

Invoking a magical entity is not really an explanation at all.

If the existence of a 1st century apocalyptic preacher who died and failed to bring about the changed he predicted is the best demonstration there is, that's pretty good support for atheism.

Not true. There is evidence. You may not like but that does not mean there is no evidence. Atheism on the other hand is making a knowledge claim about reality and atheists fail to show anyone any evidence for it.

Its the atheist that believes in magic. How else does he explain the origin of the universe or life except by magic.

Christianity's impact on the world is incalculable. There is no doubt that Jesus is the most influential person in history.

Can you tell me who the most influential atheist is in history? How many people even remember this person or what he said or wrote?

You asked me to bring our discussion about miracles and faith over to this forum.

You've got jack squat for evidence and you revealed it when you said Jesus' life was the best evidence you had.

Atheism is a rejection of a claim, not a claim in itself, though some atheists would take additional, stronger positions on the existence of gods.

So what is your position based on? If invoking an omnipotent being isn't magic, what is?
Lbj wrote:

The origin of the universe is unknown. Abiogenesis not not invoke magic.

Can you tell me how a religious figure being influential demonstrates the existence of a god? Siddhartha, Mohammed, and Joseph Smith are also influential religious figures, yet I doubt you take them as evidence for their respective dogmas.

I think it's also worth noting that Jesus wasn't influential at all during his actual lifetime.

This is the place. Thanks for coming. You had some points that you made on Patheos that I thought were worth discussing and I'd like to do that here without worrying about getting banned or comments deleted by a moderator.

No one that understands the Bible would ever assert that the power of God is magic. Magic has do with fantasies and the like. Creating the universe (Genesis 1:1) or raising the dead (John 11) is not magic but the power of God at work.

What is the evidence for Abiogenesis? What forces of nature are involved in Abiogenesis?

The influence of Christ does not prove the existence of God but shows His influence over the centuries. To think that over 2 billion people claim to follow Him is staggering.

Jesus was quite influential during His time. Many thousands of people followed Him or listened to Him. Just take the accounts of the feeding of the 5000 as an example.

Why isn't the life of Christ evidence for the existence of God when Christ did things that only God could do?

If "Atheism is a rejection of a claim" its not based any research.

When you assert that God does not exist are you making a knowledge claim about reality or just giving me your preference?

Great. Why don't you quote a paragraph or a few sentences of my comments that you have a question or objection about, and then ask a question or raise an objection?
