Netfirms is Worst Web Hosting Service

In all facets of web hosting this company is the very worst. They sign you up by first offering the best price anywhere, which is $30 dollars a year.
Then everything goes wrong. Down time all the time and poor customer service that doesn't fix the problems. And for those who don't want to go through the hassle of switching hosts, they raise their prices dramatically the 2nd year. I recommend for folks to go through that hassle and switch. Anything to get away from Netfirms.

I cancelled out on them after a month. Never got refunded, but it was worth it to get away from them. Perhaps it's possible other web hosts are as bad as Netfirms. But nobody could possibly be worse.

I won't bash "anybody." But I will bash terrible corporations. That's what CUACC is all about. Thumbs down to Netfirms who are screwing over consumers now. We don't get paid for our service, so we won't bash a company unless they're bad news and we won't back a big company unless they really are good. That's more than what can be said for the likes of the BBB.

I am a social scientist who spent over $30,000 of my OWN MONEY on collecting data. Netfirms migrated and LOST ALL MY DATA. I spoke to a very smarmy and smug manager who tried to then blame me for not having backed up my data.
I won't even go through the history of problems I had with netfirms over minor issues. This major issue is the be-all and end-all.
I PAID NETFIRMS to store my data and post my surveys. DO NOT USE NETFIRMS WORST COMPANY EVER. TRUST ME ON THIS.

What a sad state of affairs. Netfirms was once the best webhost in its class. Then it was bought out by EIG and it all went to pot. It is as if Endurance International Group had it in for the company and wanted to destroy it, so they bought it to use as a toilet for all their worst business practices.
EIG owns several webhosts. But the only publicly admit to owning a few.
On their company website they list BlueHost, HostGator, iPage, FatCow, Domain.com , iPower, a Small Orange, Typepad, SeoGears, Mojo Marketplace, and Homestead.
But I wanted to make sure that I never use an EIG host ever again, so I did a little digging and discovered that they actually own:

I continue to suffer for my dealings with Netfirms, so in a fit of rage I sent them another note to their "feedback" page. That did not satisfy my rage so I did a quick google search for "Netfirms is the worst" and repeated this post below. I now feel a little bit better.
I just want to remind you what evil b******s I think you are.
A few months ago, I was unable to access my account. I was told that this was because my initial domain, <c********** s.com > had expired and I needed to renew my domain in order to be able to login with the username "c**********s".
After years of being pissed of by everything that netfirms did to screw me and my business, I said fine, whatever, renew the domain.
Shortly thereafter I was finally able to login to my control panel using "c**********s".
HOWEVER, it is obvious that you did not even need to renew my original domain, because you gave me a completely new one.
I am now apparently the owner of "cs.com" a domain for which I have no use. I cannot even recreate my old email addresses or purchase "c********** s.com " because it is still unavailable.
Are you deliberately being a**holes? Is Netfirms just a tax shelter for EIG? Are you really trying to make it the worst company on the internet.
Do you just sit around drinking Sterno and laughing at people who complain about your once-great company?

And here is their reply. I find it difficult to believe that any company that cares about being in business would offer such a pathetic response as this. My first assumption is that the response is computer generated by a bot of some sort, using an Indian name in order to give the illusion of being human. The first two paragraphs are such a joke. Whoever it is did not actually read my comment, and doesn't care about me or their company.

You have registered the domain 'c********** s.com ' was lastly renewed with us on April 12, 2012. YOu have disabled the automatic domain renewal service for the domain on November 28, 2012. This is the reason the domain was expired. Now someone else has registered the domain.
In our terms of service we have clearly mentioned the responsibility of domain renewal will have to be taken by the domain owner.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to create the mailbox for the domain 'c********** s.com '. However, you can create the mailbox for the domain 'cs.com'. In order to create the mailbox, please follow the steps given below:
1. Log into the control panel with account username and password.
2. Click on MailCentral under Email.
3. Click on the + button under 'Filter / Search Your Mailboxes'.
4. Under 'Create New Mailbox' enter the mailbox name, select the domain name and enter the password.
5. Click on the Create button.
If you wish to get the domain 'c**********s', you need to contact the current owner of the domain.
