“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

With all the funding they receive from ExxonMobil (climate change denial) and Phillip Morris (denial of smoking dangers), I think we can say the Heartland Institute has zero credibility. They are nothing but hos to big business.
I think we can say
Oh, it CAN'T be. RiccardoFire assured me that he "followed the money", and it lead him right to meteorologists. I'm sure I heard that the executives at ExxonMobil and Phillip Morris are nothing but humble peasants who donate their entire salaries to charities for homeless orphan kittens with feline AIDS.

That article says it all, Toby.
"Yet it is organised by the Heartland Institute of Chicago, which has opposed much of the science of climate change and passive smoking...a right-wing American think-tank which receives money from the oil industry."
One article about the Heartland Institute said it wasn't really a think tank at all but a front for lobbying in which they receive funds and contributions for doing.

Apparently you don't care to verify anything further than what James M. Taylor who works for the Heartland Institute wrote in that article for Forbes. Eight committees investigated those allegations concerning the emails and found no scientific misconduct, they were cleared by all committees.
http://news.sciencemag.org/europe/2010/04/oxb...
A new batch of 5,000 emails, not the first batch that your site is reporting on. Did you read the part that said: " an independent "reappraisal of the science" of its Climatic Research Unit's " That is what the cops do when they have a complaint. It should have been cleared by outside, not inside. Who funds that site? always follow the money.

I don't use the rigorous formatting we were required to @ uni, but I do acknowledge all my sources with a link.
What's funny is that you offer nothing, you have no content, therefore all you do is bring hate to the table. You were the fool explaining how the earth is being choked like putting a bag over your head. You were the one that said global warming must be real because when I was young it seemed cooler. LOL What did the great Martin Luther King say? Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.

I'm sure that's a quaint saying from detective movies, but in real life there's usually a LOT of money going in many different directions at once. Why doesn't the money ever lead you to the oil companies? Are climatologists paid better than Exxon's CEO?
RiccardoFire wrote:

Some of find that the State is corroborated by a multitude of OTHER worldwide governments.

But, getting the subject back to religion, do you see a similarity in how you believe "EXACTLY!" what the Church tells you? Are you skeptical of the Bible, the way you're skeptical of science and government? If you prize your skepticism, do you apply it equally to all areas of your life, including religion?

For example, when it says that homosexuality is an abomination, I'm sure you agree with that, and see no reason to be skeptical. But when it says that we should be put to death, or that the children of a slave become the permanent property of the master, or that painted sticks placed near mating goats will cause the baby goats to be colored like the paint patterns, or that leprosy can be cured by rubbing bird's blood on the house of the afflicted... does any skepticism come into play when you read passages like these? Or are these claims true and moral, regardless of investigation or contradictory evidence from the real world?

Just curious how your skepticism works.

That's a fine batch of right-wing-biased sites you've got there. Why not take them to a thread about climate, and get back to talking about homosexuality and sin?

But, I did like these excerpts from YOUR Washington Post link:

"Yet multiple inquiries, while calling for more openness in data sharing, found no evidence of scientific misconduct on the part of the involved scientists. And new scientific assessments and studies have re-affirmed the Earth is warming and human activities play a key role."

"I (article author Jason Samenow) could not agree more with (MIT climate scientist Kerry) Emanuel when he says the the contents of the Climategate emails are not the real scandal, but that it’s instead the effort to discredit climate change science."

Very rarely, they might. Generally a biased source is a biased source.

U don't have the discernment to realize that, drama queen.
