Should retarded/Low I.Q. babies be aborted?

Its a tough question but i know some people that are majorly handicapped and their lives are miserable. i wonder if its just the selfishness of the parent that forces their child to live this way instead of putting them out of their misery at birth once they know the child will not have a decent life?

I appreciate your tender heart. But it is hardly selfishness to willingly commit to the enormous responsibility and difficulty of raising that child. The folks that I know with challenged children (who, by the way, are happy children who grow into happy adults that still manage to contribute to society)that consider their children their highest gift and their greatest teachers.

I know this sounds heartless, but in nature, many mothers kill off the weakest of their offspring. They do this to ensure that their species stays strong and survives their predators. I believe that the human species has become weaker by allowing the malformed or mentally handicapped survive and breed. Stephen Hawking is the exception to the rule. It is our compassionate nature which will be the downfall of humanity. This does not stop me from believing abortion is genocide, but it is still the harsh and unvarnished truth.

obviously you do not HAVE a compassionate nature.
