I "found God" in 7th grade.
I "lost" him later in my life. I was a Christian for quite some time, but I slowly went from fundamentalist -> "average" -> skeptic -> agnostic theist -> agnostic atheist.
Don't give me that "You're still looking for him" crap - I've heard it enough from just about every other Christian who I've ever had a discussion about God with, and it's false.
OK...

You say it's false, yet you call yourself an agnostic atheist?!?

Can you prove that unicorns, goblins, fairies, etc., exist?

I'm an agnostic atheist because I don't know if a deity exists.

The Bible is demonstrably false, however (Creation, implication of a flat earth, etc), so I'd need quite a healthy amount of evidence that that particular God exists (from CREDIBLE sources - not Creationist propaganda) in order to believe it - evidence which there is not a smidgen of.

If you're without belief, why are you quoting the Bible? I think it's great but it does not compute...

We quote the Bible to examine
a) it's ridiculousness and
b) the hypocrisy of those who say they've read it.
At least - that's what I do. Can't speak for the person you're quoting.

No - but that does not mean they exist. We need a higher standard of evidence to discern reality from fantasy, and that standard of evidence has not been met by people who claim any particular deity exists.

If the Bible is "demonstrably false", then by all means demonstrate....

Hypocrisy of those who say they've read it?

LMAO!

Like you lying that you've read it "3+" times and you've never seen Satan referred to as the serpent?

You're such a liar, might wanna change socks now.

Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

No, of course it doesn't mean that. But there is no reason to say they exist unless you are presented with evidence.

No one can prove they don't exist, can they? Until they do, one is free to believe what one wants to.

Creation.

A flat earth.

The various claims of the sky being water.

Stationary earth.

The claim that the moon is a light source.

The claim that snow and hail are stored in God's kingdom.

The claim that the earth sits on 4 pillars.

The claim that rabbits chew cud.

The claim that a bat is a bird, not a mammal.

Do you believe in goblins, unicorns, witches, fairies, and so on? What about all of the deities claimed by other religions to be true, which have the same absence of evidence as your God?

I'm not saying God doesn't exist - I'm just saying that I have no reason to believe in him until I am presented evidence. Just like I have no reason to believe fairies exist without evidence.

Look at the name of the thread.

"God is REAL - Miracles Happen!"

He claimed that God actually existed with no evidence whatsoever (no - something that heals naturally... healing... is not evidence of miracles or God for that matter)

Ah, Creationists: denying evidence since, what, 5000 BC or something like that?

I've explained to you that serpent was an insult at the time the NT was written. Until you can demonstrate that it meant something else when talking about Satan, it is safe to assume it meant the same thing it did as when Jesus called the pharisees snakes (unless they were in the garden, too!)
