See Francis...wasn't that easy? Excellent response, ABs full boner, GJ Dubl A+, Clinton Full Monica award on that one...<quoted text>Not to sound cold; I think any parent could justify torture in such circumstances but society cannot-- innocent until proven guilty is how it has to be if we are to be a nation under the rule of law.
And the law is not written for victims or the ones who love them; it is written for society and that is how it must be, heartbreaking and enraging though it so often is.
I remember the Wood and Bernardo cases; may their loved ones have found peace...
In response to your earlier question; I'm as sure as one can be that I would do whatever increased the odds of survival for my loved ones including torture or not and if they were harmed I would not stop until the perpetrator was dead, dead, dead.
We all say that, don't we?
Until, God forbid, that ever happens I will accept that our society cannot be that way, cruel as it is for victims.
That was my entire point to Nightshifty...no matter how vehemently you profess to stand for something, there are always exceptions and it is those exceptions that entire countries or societies should NOT be judged on...
