Do you think we are living in the end times?

In this months time magazine there is an article concerning a stone tablet acknowledging the messiah to be killed and rise from the dead 3 days later...it is said to be from around 100 B.C. thereby prophesying to the Jews of Jesus' claims as Messiah/Savior. This plus all the talk of a one world government, the increase of lawlessness around the globe and the global economic state and all the wierd weather and natural disasters...etc...etc... is this all coincidence or is the Biblical prophecy coming true...

Christians have been seeing the end of time for 2,000 years. Sooner or later, they got to get it right. But I'm betting on later.

You see that tablet as a foretelling of Jesus.

I see it as evidence that the resurrection myth was nothing new to Jewish society.

It certainly was nothing new to the rest of the Greco-Roman world.

We have been in end times since way back. But our time is not God's time. And He is the only One who knows. I have to wonder why people keep trying to predict the date. That is never going to happen. They need to use their time, for improving things, instead of letting us think that they are just as knowledgeable as God. Whoa, now that is scary. And that is something none of us can admit. We just need to be ready and put the time we have to good use for others and ourselves. Don't waste your time and life on something you will never prove. Enjoy what you have been given.

well Jesus told his disciples that there will be wars, and rumours of wars, and famine and pestilence but that wont be the end. so i dont think its the end of anything. but for a lot of Nations, its the beginning of something. I think change is here for many of us. Besides the end is not speaking of the end of the world i.e the world being destroyed. when the disciples asked Jesus' what is the sign of your coming-the sign of the end of times', they were speaking of an end of the world system as discussed in the book of Daniel(the vision of the great statue Daniel saw), which represent the systems and governments of the world. The end of times and coming of JEsus is actually the end of the present world system and the coming of the kingdom of GOd which is the order, and government of GOd as intended originally. In Revelations, John sees the new Jerusalem coming from the sky. This is the actual ushering of Gods system and government on the earth, by which all men shall live.

BUt that time is not near. These things we see are just birth pains. Who knows how long this labour will last until the promise is born>?

Well tht's interesting input, I have heard of women being in labor for 24 hours plus...my wife had 4 hour labors... Jesus said it would come suddenly... so I am not so sure about that we have a long time... there are some major prophecies fulfilled for one the fact that israel is a nation for the third time is a HUGE fulfillment of prophecy and since they have been a nation since 1948 part of that prophecy is, that generation would not perish until these things are fulfilled... and then in Daniel talking about the end times mentions there will be an increase of knowledge...I mentioned this on another thread, that the word for 'increase' is exponential, i.e. an explosion of knowledge... in light of the advances of the internet and the scientific discoveries, mankind is doubling the rate of 'knowledge' like every four years... so those are the kinds of things I was thinking about and I was wondering if others, christians and non christians had taken similar note of biblical and non-biblical support... I know we are in the last days... everything post Jesus' life, death and resurrection is considered the last days- but are we approaching the entrance to the end of times?

well yes i believe we are in the final stages of labour. but who knows how long that will be in real time. Jesus said the earthquakes and pestilences and famines are the BEGINNING OF SORROWS. Only when the gospel of the Kingdom is preached throughout the world, shall the end come

Right now, alot of gospels are being preached even in Christianity. The gospel is currently being split up into fractions. Until the whole gospel of the KINGDOM is preached, the end shall not come. This is what Jesus came to preach. It goes beyond salvation, healing, prosperity, faith preaching. Its the Kingdom.

But yes, the head is fast approaching the birth canal...
