Defeated By The Taliban, Washington Decides To Take On Russia And China

By Paul Craig Roberts

With the collapse of the Soviet Union, Washington quickly stepped into the place of Russia. The new countries were all broke, as was Russia at the time and, thus, helpless. Washington used NGOs funded by Washington and its EU puppets to create anti-Russian, pro-American, pro-EU movements in the former constituent parts of Soviet Russia. The gullible peoples were so happy to have escaped the Soviet thumb that they did not realize that they now had new masters.

It is a good bet that the Ukrainian protests are a CIA organized event, using the Washington and EU funded NGOs and manipulating the hatred of Ukrainian nationalists for Russia. The protests are directed against Russia. If Ukraine can be realigned and brought into the fold of Washington’s Empire, Russia is further diminished as a world power.

To this effect NATO conducted war games against Russia last month in operation Steadfast Jazz 2013. Finland, Ukraine, Georgia, and neutral Sweden have offered their military participation in the next iteration of NATO war games close to Russia’s borders despite the fact that they are not NATO members.

The diminishment of Russia as a powerful state is critical to Washington’s agenda for world hegemony. If Russia can be rendered impotent, Washington’s only concern is China.

The Obama regime’s “Pivot to Asia” announced Washington’s plan to surround China with naval and air bases and to interject Washington into every dispute that China has with Asian neighbors. China has responded to Washington’s provocation by expanding its air space, an action that Washington calls destabilizing when in fact it is Washington that is destabilizing the region.

China is unlikely to be intimidated, but could undermine itself if its economic reform opens China’s economy to western manipulation. Once China frees its currency and embraces “free markets,” Washington can manipulate China’s currency and drive China’s currency into volatility that discourages its use as a rival to the dollar. China is disadvantaged by having so many university graduates from US universities, where they have been indoctrinated with Washington’s view of the world. When these American-programmed graduates return to China, some tend to become a fifth column whose influence will ally with Washington’s war on China.

So where does this leave us? Washington will prevail until the US dollar collapses.

Many support mechanisms are in place for the dollar. The Federal Reserve and its dependent bullion banks have driven down the price of gold and silver by short-selling in the paper futures market, allowing bullion to flow into Asia at bargain prices, but removing the pressure of a rising gold price on the exchange value of the US dollar.

Washington has prevailed on Japan and, apparently, the European Central Bank, to print money in order to prevent the rise of the yen and euro to the dollar.

The Trans-Pacific and Trans-Atlantic Partnerships are designed to keep countries in the US dollar payments system, thus supporting the dollar’s value in currency markets.

Eastern European members of the EU that still have their own currencies have been told that they must print their own currencies in order to prevent a rise in their currency’s value relative to the US dollar that would curtail their exports.

The financial world is under Washington’s thumb. And Washington is printing money for the sake of 4 or 5 mega-banks.

That should tell the protestors in Ukraine all they need to know.

In Afghanistan, People Died for No Good Reason

And keeping the troops there won't change that.

By Sheldon Richman

Last week a remarkable exchange about the future role of the U.S. military in Afghanistan took place on the MSNBC program Andrea Mitchell Reports. In a discussion of the U.S. government’s uncertain negotiations with Afghan President Hamid Karzai over the continued presence of U.S. troops beyond 2014, NBC’s chief foreign correspondent, Richard Engel, pointed out that, between the Karzai talks and the negotiations with Afghanistan’s next-door neighbor Iran, the Obama administration has a daunting task.

Part of the administration’s objective, Engel said, is
to protect the legacy of America’s longest war. For a lot of the soldiers we’ve been speaking to, this is personal. They’ve come here time and time again. They’ve invested so much. They’ve put their family lives on hold. They’ve lost friends here. So the collapse of Afghanistan would be in a certain way a personal affront to what they have done. So you also have to keep the investment, personal and otherwise, that the United States has put into military into this conflict — and that’s also part of this calculation.

To which the show’s host, Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent Mitchell, replied,“That’s probably the most important part of the calculation.”

Seriously? The most important part of the calculation as to whether the U.S. military will continue to occupy Afghanistan is what American military personnel have lost in the past 12 years? In the business world, that’s called throwing good money after bad. In economics, it’s known as sunk costs. The past is gone. Any action is future-oriented. The right question is, What would be the consequences of continued military occupation? Additional killing and dying will not bring back the dead or restore lost time, nor will it make the losses worthwhile.

Engel and Mitchell of course are not policymakers, but they are faithful conduits for the thinking of the ruling elite. So this exchange is not to be taken lightly.

Since the U.S. invasion in 2001, the Associated Press reports, at least 2,153 American military personnel have been killed. Asia scholar Juan Cole reports that 19,415 Americans were “wounded in Afghanistan badly enough to go to hospital.”

Afghan casualty data are harder to come by, and in recent years most casualties have apparently been inflicted by Taliban insurgents. Yet journalists Bob Dreyfuss and Nick Turse write,“But it’s an unassailable fact that many of those killed by anti-government forces would almost certainly be alive had the United States never invaded. And the victims of US forces and other foreign troops number in the many thousands.”

What good is there to show for that loss and shattering of life? Nothing. Afghanistan remains a violent place, nominally ruled by a corrupt and repressive propped-up government that will remain precarious no matter how long the U.S. military stays. President Karzai regularly gets bags of CIA cash, the illegal drug trade thrives with official connivance, and stoning is about to be introduced as the penalty for adultery.

The Taliban, which reigned before the U.S. invasion and still is conducting an unrelenting insurgency, was never a threat to the American people.(The U.S. government was on its side after the Soviets invaded the country.) The organization that was a threat, al-Qaeda, did not plot the 9/11 attacks in Afghanistan and has since spun off affiliates in Iraq, Syria, Somalia, Libya, and the Arabian Peninsula. Moreover, the threat was a direct consequence of decades of U.S. intervention in the Muslim world. If there had been no American empire, there would have been no 9/11 attacks, nor would there have been any of the acts committed by al-Qaeda against the U.S. government before 2001.

What this means is that the sacrifices of America’s military personnel — not to mention the war crimes committed against the Afghan people — were for no good reason whatever. It would be wrong, however, to say they were for no reason at all. Many Americans in and out of government have garnered immense wealth and power thanks to U.S. policy in Afghanistan, Iraq, and elsewhere. War is a racket.

American forces should be withdrawn at once, for the sake both of the Afghan people and of the U.S. personnel, who are abused by America’s rulers. We can only hope that Karzai refuses to sign a new agreement with the Obama administration, so that this long nightmare can come to an end.

Father Gabriel Naddaf
Hailing from the village of Yaffia, situated between Migdal Ha'emek and Nazareth, Naddaf is an Eastern Orthodox priest who has become a leader in the drive for Christian enlistment in the Israel Defense Forces.
Naddaf has undertaken this effort at great personal risk and has been subject to threats. Nevertheless, the movement has seen success, as Christian enlistment in the IDF tripled in 2013.

Describing him as "The Good Father" in a recent profile piece, the Jerusalem Post said that "Father Gabriel Naddaf has reached the conclusion that Christian Arabs residing in Israel must link their fortunes to the Jewish state."
"Our goal is to guard the Holy Land and the State of Israel. We have broken the barrier of fear - the state deserves that we do our part in defending it," he said, in a meeting earlier this year with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, who recognized his efforts.

Mission Accomplished? Afghanistan is a Calamity and our Leaders Must be Held to Account

British troops haven't accomplished a single one of their missions in Afghanistan. Like Iraq and Libya, it's a disaster

By Seumas Milne

December 21, 2013 "Information Clearing House - "The Guardian" - Of all the mendacious nonsense that pours out of politicians' mouths, David Cameron's claim that British combat troops will be coming home from Afghanistan with their "mission accomplished" is in a class all of its own. It's almost as if, by echoing George Bush's infamous claim of victory in Iraq in May 2003 just as the real war was beginning, the British prime minister is deliberately courting ridicule.

But British, American and other Nato troops have been so long in Afghanistan – twice as long as the second world war – that perhaps their leaders have forgotten what the original mission actually was. In fact, it began as a war to destroy al-Qaida, crush the Taliban and capture or kill their leaders, Osama bin Laden and Mullah Omar.
That quickly morphed into a supposed campaign for democracy and women's rights, a war to protect our cities from terror attacks, to eradicate opium production and bring security and good governance from Helmand to Kandahar. With the exception of the assassination of Bin Laden – carried out 10 years later in another country – not one of those goals has been achieved.

Instead, al-Qaida has mushroomed and spread throughout the Arab and Muslim world, engulfing first Iraq and now Syria. Far from protecting our streets from attacks, the war has repeatedly been cited as a justification for those carrying them out – most recently by Michael Adebolajo, who killed the Afghan war veteran Lee Rigby on the streets of London in May.

The Taliban is long resurgent, mounting 6,600 attacks between May and October this year and negotiating for a return to power. Mullah Omar remains at liberty. Afghan opium production is at a record high and now accounts for 90% of the world's supply. Less than half the country is now "safe for reconstruction", compared with 68% in 2009.

Meanwhile, women's rights are going into reverse, and violence against women is escalating under Nato occupation: 4,000 assaults were documented by Afghan human rights monitors in the first six months of this year, from rape and acid attacks to beatings and mutilation. Elections have been brazenly rigged, as a corrupt regime of warlords and torturers is kept in power by foreign troops, and violence has spilled over into a dangerously destabilised Pakistan.

All this has been at a cost of tens of thousands of Afghan civilian lives, along with those of thousands US, British and other occupation troops. But it's not as if it wasn't foreseen from the start. When the media were hailing victory in Afghanistan 12 years ago, and Tony Blair's triumphalism was echoed across the political establishment, opponents of the invasion predicted it would lead to long-term guerrilla warfare, large-scale Afghan suffering and military failure – and were dismissed by the politicians as "wrong" and "fanciful".

But that is exactly what happened. One study after another has confirmed that British troops massively increased the level of violence after their arrival in Helmand in 2006, and are estimated to have killed 500 civilians in a campaign that has cost between £25bn and £37bn. After four years they had to be rescued by US forces. But none of the political leaders who sent them there has been held accountable for this grim record.

What did Prophet say?(The Other side)

Selections from the book MISHKAT AL MASABEEH) Part-0 (Introduction by MUQ)

I think every one will agree me, that there is no shortage of EXPERTS on these threads, who cut and paste AUTHENTIC sayings from Islamic scriptures.

It is no secret that these EXPERTS choose only few selected items from the vast collection of sayings of Prophet PBUH.

And every one can also see that their aim from this is not to spread Islamic knowledge, but only to malign Islam and personal character of Prophet PBUH.

But there are so many other sayings of our Prophet PBUH, which these EXPERTS some how miss or ignore knowingly or un knowingly. It is because of this BUILT-IN filtering that does not allow any good saying from our Prophet PBUH to pass thru.

Here I present some sayings of our prophet from an authentic book called MISHKAT AL MASABEEH. It is not a Primary book of Hadith, but compilation of sayings recorded in Original books.

Chain of Narrators is not mentioned, so as to make it easy for common people, but the references of the original books are mentioned.

My aim from this is to bring the other side also, so any unbiased and fair minded person can see what the real teachings of our prophet were.

As regards the EXPERTS, I leave them alone; this has been their best pastime for 1400 years.

What did prophet preach?(The other side of story)

Selection from the book MISHKAT AL MASABEEH (an authentic collection of sayings of prophet) Part-3

17. Reported Umar, the companion of prophet “I saw that prophet was reclining on a bed made of Date leaves, till its imprints were on his body, and his pillow was made of skin.

“I said “O prophet of Allah, rulers of Rome and Persia enjoy all the luxuries of this world and you a prophet of Allah is in this state”

Prophet Said “O Umar are you still out of understanding? Are you not content that they get all their rewards in this world, while we get out rewards in the hereafter”

18. Prophet PBUH said “Look at those who are having lesser worldly possessions than you and do not look at those who are given more provisions than you, only then you will be grateful of the bounties which Allah has given you”

19. Prophet PBUH said “If some one starts loving me, straitness of means comes to him faster than water which flows to a lower level”

20. Prophet PBUH said to his companion MAAZ Ibn JABAL “Do not indulge in luxuries of life, for good servants of Allah do not over indulge in these things”

21. Prophet PBUH said “If anyone has no food, but he hides it with people, Allah will provide him provision for one year”

Islam’s claim to be a religion is not entirely correct. While Islam does have some religious components, Islam is mostly a perverted totalitarian/political ideology that dictates almost all aspects of Muslim life.

Islam as a whole discriminates against women, homosexuals, blacks, non-Arabs, and ALL non-Muslims - especially Jews. Islam has a “legal system” called Shari'ah - a barbaric code that today, in the 21st century, dictates stoning of women for the “crime” of being raped, and legalizes polygamy and child molestation. It also mandates amputation of hands and feet for thievery, legalizes slavery - including raping of slave women - and mandates execution for anyone who tries to criticize, change or leave Islam. To make matters worse, significant portions of Islam’s theological texts incite its followers to commit horrendous acts of violence while enforcing Shari'ah and “spreading the faith”.

Islam’s founder/cult leader and fawnicator, Muhammad, is revered by Muslims and is considered to be the perfect human. Muslims are supposed to make every effort to live lives similar to Muhammad’s. But Muhammad - according to Muslim sources - was a pedophile, a rapist, and a thieving, murdering thug.

There is nothing fictive about it. This is the ROthschild banking company!

How Rosthschild is tied to the creation of Isreal can be read within the Balfour decleration itself:

The Rothschild family has a long dark for the most part secret history that better can be understood by any gentile by looking at this documentary about the banking network!!

Hello "E23Jer34"

"The Bible" is only a compilation of stories that were passed around, verbally for hundreds of years before a few were cherry picked and put to writing by ancient Hebrew scribes with the typical bias endemic to all mythologies.

The are far more Extra-Biblical documents recording the Regional History in which "Israel" is rarely or never mentioned.

EXCERPT "In his article “Deconstructing the Walls of Jericho“, appearing in Ha’aretz (29 October 1999), Ze’ev Herzog calls the mention of Israel on the stele a reference to “population group of nomads” who most probably were always on the move, looking for fertile land to herd their animals. In the article Herzog concludes.

“Following 70 years of intensive excavations in the Land of Israel, archaeologists have found out:

The patriarchs’ acts are legendary stories, we did not sojourn in Egypt or make an exodus, and we did not conquer the land.

Neither is there any mention of the empire of David and Solomon.

Those who take an interest have known these facts for years, but Israel is a stubborn people and doesn’t want to hear about it.”

Did you know that Egypt is mentioned in the Holy Bible approximately 700 times (Egypt: 595 times, Egyptian(s): 120 times).

Israelites were mentioned in the ancient Egyptian records once or … maybe none at all."CONTINUED

All of the Ancient Mid East Mythologies aggrandized their military prowess, building projects Glorified Heros. I’ve seen Assyrian reliefs in which the King has his foot on his opponent’s throat, Egyptian Kings were portrayed in larger size than his soldiers and the Hebrews were no different in their claims to mystical, overblown glory and heroic victories even to this day.

It is only because the Romans chose Christianity with its Judaic roots that Judaism is as widespread as it is today.

Israel would be non existent without Colonial Power meddling and US Military and financial aid.

The McMahone agreement is among the many ways in which the Native Arabs were defrauded and are, today, justifiably resentful:

“The McMahon Agreement”
EXCERPT “The McMahon-Hussein Agreement of October 1915 was accepted by Palestinians as a promise by the British that after World War One, land previously held by the Turks would be returned to the Arab nationals who lived in that land.

The McMahon-Hussein Agreement was to greatly complicate Middle East history and seemed to directly clash with the Balfour Declaration of 1917. CONTINUED

The fruits of Colonial meddling and America’s $ Trillions has resulted in a Genocidal entity that is not even a State and has been found guilty of Genocide via its own State Policy:

“Israel’s “Plan Dalet”: The Green Light for Zionism’s Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine”

EXCERPT “On that day in 1948, two months before Israel’s unilateral declaration of independence in defiance of the will of the organized international community as it then was at the UN, Zionism’s in-Palestine political and military leaders met in Tel Aviv to formally adopt PLAN DALET, the blueprint with operational military orders for the ethnic cleansing of Palestine.” CONTINUED

“The UN did NOT create Israel”

EXCERPT “Please see an article on this, "New States Are Not Created in the UN". Below is an excerpt: CONTINUED

For America’s Trillions of dollars and sacrifice of thousands of US lives, we get a Genocidal, little entity with its roots in Nazi Complicity.
