I dont see why not. If you liked the neighbors and neighborhood. If you liked the house when you lived there before. Just dont overpay for sentimental reasons.

I agree with Rider, but If you have bad memories in that house you should have a second thought about it. If you have good memories I think you should.

DON'T DO IT! For one thing it's very true that "you can't go home again" meaning, it won't be the same as you remembered it when you were growing up there. Also, as a homeowner you're going to discover all kinds of problems (especially with an older house) which you never thought of or noticed when you were a kid. And finally, in my opinion it keeps you from moving on in your life and leaving childhood behind. I did this several years ago, finally sold the house and even though I turned a profit on it overall I regret the experience and wish I'd never purchased it.
