i disagree the green berets would win in my estimation. because i find the green berets to be more resourceful and clever and crafty. seals are well wrought highly conditioned gladiators and perhaps on a per-capita one to one level the seals would mount an overall victory. but place 2 groups of equal numbers in a jungle terrain or deserted island and i think the green berets would outfox the seals

Neither would win. They would join forces which would be unnecessary and kick your ass for mentioning such a thing.

It would depend on the "who" vs. "who".A Richard Marcinko verses Charlie Beckwith (while both were in their prime, mind you,and in the case of Mr.Beckwith, alive)in the bush would be a very intense duel.

Actually it's called Special Warfare.(for the SEALS) Me being an ex-ranger 75th Regiment 1st Battalion 88-92 I know for a fact the SEALS have more of an intense basic than for S.F. but, why they cannot read a grid map and go by a compass is beyond my knowledge. But who's the toughest between the S.F. and SEALS? It all depends.

Besides reading a compass. SEALS go through very intense training including everything from Airborne, Diving, Halo, all S.F. unit's go through diffrent training so, you cannot just compair by what some go through other's go through more.

It would be a fair contest only if you could include participants from different eras, like in some of the military computer games. I would pick the green berets of the 60's over today's Seals. I would pick today's Green Berets over the arctic snow seals of the 60's...:)

SEALS are deployed to accomplish a specific mission. Most of these missions are Black Ops short ones. SEALS are best in carrying these type of mission. They give a great deal of infiltrating the enemy with stealth throughout their mission. They are usually deployed to do specific missions like RESCUES, RETRIEVALS, destruction of critical installations or establishments. As much as possible, they like to finish their mission without traces or being detected by the enemies. SEALS also love to be deployed from submarines. GREEN BERETS are the survivors. They can survive on deadly grounds for long. They are usually deployed in advance to train and form local militia that will help the US army in their battle. They can operate silently and infiltrate enemy's lair without being caught. SEALS are best as a team but as an individual fighter, it is the GREEN BERETS.
