Tamil, have come from Middle east, so that means there should a language in India right? Tamil had moved to srilanka that means after Ramayana, so Kannada should be a oldest language after Sanskrit. Then how can any one judge on the history, without clear thoughts? According to history (Red Indians- Juiesh (Before Christ)they speak Ebru, then how can Tamil be the oldest language in the world. Do you think entire world speak tamil????
British have recently said that Kannada has 10,000 Yrs history, that means, even In Ramayana and Mahabaratha they were using Kannada.Buddha Yes, you can find Tamil words in Oldest temple all across, do anybody know the reason? It is simple, they are good in constructions and still they have remained the same.
Its is simple, King Ashoka is a Kannadiga and Srikrishan devaraya is a Mangalorean, Immadi Pulakeshi is a Kannadiga
Ananda was the cousin of the Buddha. He joined the Sangha as a child. He was ordained along with Aniruddha(Kannada Word) and Bhadra(Kannada word). His father was the brother of King Suddhodana(Kannada word), even they are Kannadiga...
So let's not discuss about this, Tamil is a middle east language, then do you think Arabic/Ebru have derived from Tamil, tomorrow they say English, Latin, Spanish all have come from Tamil??(lol)
Mysore is also a old city rite, Mysore was ruling Chennai, Hyderabad, Kerala, UP, Bihar, MP, All most all, coz there was only 2 language 1) Sanskrit 2) Kannada later Tamil, Hindi, Telugu and other.
Tulu Language spoken by Sri Krishnadevaraya, then why there was no lipi for that Language (even this language was old than Sri KrishnaDevaraya) even his fater, his great grand father etc etc ect were speaking Tulu..
Do you think I am wrong.. We have to appreciate British to gather about Kannada, as a Kannadiga I salute them.

king ashok was bihari. He was born in patna.

New Twist to row: Kannada
is older than Tamil script From Veerendra P M, DH News
Service, Shimoga: Prof Shettar’s findings that
Kannada language had evolved
an independent script much
before Tamil and Kannada
poets were part of much
acclaimed Sangam poets’ conglomeration provides
strong justification for the
demand for classical language
status for Kannada. Tamil scholars argue that
Sangam age existed between
5th century BC and 5th century
AD. Sangam was a
conglomeration of poets in
which Tiruvalluvar and others were important. Sangam poets
were secular in their outlook
and opposed conservative
practices which made them
icons of Dravidian and Tamil
nationalist movement. According to Prof S Shettar,
Sangam age was more
cosmopolitan by nature as
poets from neighbouring
Dravidian languages were also
part of it. Many poets of the then Vaduga region (North to
Neelagiri hill ranges and East
to Arabian sea) which is
present Karnataka were also
part of Sangam age. Vaduga
was also a buffer region which had conflict with Tamil and at
the same time resisted the
advances of imperial Mouryas.
These vaduga poets belonged
to various provinces like
Erumaioor (present Mysore), Konkaana (Konkan cost) and
others. According to Prof Shettar,
Brahmi script was used in
Deccan region (Karnataka and
Andhra Pradesh) from 3rd
century BC to AD. Many
inscriptions of Mourya period found in the region during the
period are in Prakrut language
and Brahmi script. Buddhist
and Jain monks of the period
popularised Brahmi script and
Prakrut language. South India developed its own
variant of Brahmi script called
as Dakshina Brahmi of which
Tamil-Brahmi was a sub genre.
Experiments to replace Brahmi
with Vattelittu script began in Tamil Nadu by 5th century AD. However owing to technical
problems, later Tamilians
began experimenting with
Grantha script which had its
root in Dakshina Brahmi script.
Later by synchronising Grantha with Vattelittu script, Tamil
script was prepared by 8th
century AD and reached its
flowering stage by 12th
century. Dr Krishnamurthy, retired Vice
Chancellor of Hyderabad
Central University, who
represents Karnataka in
classical language committee
set up by Union Government, has presented his argument
based on the findings of Prof
Shettar. Interestingly ‘Sangam
Tamilagam mattu Kannada
naaud-nudi’ book is being
translated to Tamil.

It applies to tamil also. for example for village tamil word is gramam it is actually sanskrit word also for relation tamil word is sammadi it is also sanskrit word tamil got its script in 10th century whereas kannada got its script in 4th century and you can understand which is better language

hello tamil brother please understand properly that kannada is equally older language like tamil and most potential language kannada is the first language in india which got its script in 4th century whereas tamil got its script in 10th century and today also kannada ruling its supremacy in literature received 8 jnanapeetha award where as tamil as got only two. this shows difference between the kannada and tamil

i to shocked first when i see this comparison whole world accept that Kannada also oldest language and also have beautiful script since 4th century and till today Kannada maintained the supremacy in literature having received 8 jnanapeetha award and whereas Tamil got its script in 8th century and that script also not developed properly because speaking and writing is different in Tamil .also Tamil has got only two jnanapeetha award this shows which language is superior.having affection towards mother tongue is not offensive but without knowing the history of the other language and simply showing to much love towards mother tongue is more vulgar

if you remove sanskrit word from tamil it will soon ceases as tamil and become kandamil language from which kannada and tamil came and become independent language
