Hmmm... my cat is a yellow tabby... showed up at my doorstep in February of 1999, approximately 13 months old at the time (veterinarian's estimate) so he is about 9 years old now. Still plays like a kitten.

Name is 'Sunshine' due to his coloring.

A LITTLE weird looking - has some siamese in him, he is a weird 'pale' color. You can see the siamese in his coloring, the bone structure of his face, his eyes, hear it in his voice.

Favorite snack food: When I make Mac&Cheese&Tuna, he loves little bits of tuna (no suprise).

Favorite Toy - this transparant plastic rod, with a long soft tether on it - I tied one of his toy mice to the end of the tether.

Likes to attack my feet in my sleep (and he is NOT declawed, I don't believe in that).

Showed up at the right time in my life - I was in early recovery after a SEVERE heart attack.

We are really good buds.

Hi Mamasan and Jeff.=( I have no kittens or cats, because I have a child with severe allergies, but I do like them! I will post some cute ones throughout the week on my avatar, after the race on Sunday! I sure miss my cat, Cally. Passed along time ago, before the children came along. It's always fun to go see my friends cats. My best friends cat for some reason doesn't like me, she hisses at me with conviction, so I just admire her from afar. I have no clue what I did to piss her off! Cats can be so fickle, as we all know! Have a good weekend you two!

The only cat I have left is a tortoiseshell colored cat named Sneakers. She got her name because she "sneaked" into my life! She was wild, and living under my neighbors crawl space. The first time I saw her she had ran up a tree to play with a squirrel, but the squirrel was just a cussin her out!! It was hilarious! She was really skinny and I had noticed that she had babies due to her swollen nipples, so I put food out for her every day.
A few weeks after, I noticed her bringing her babis one by one and dropping them off at my steps. this went on for about 25 minutes until I had 4 babies. So I did the animal lover thing. I took her and her babies in, and after the babies were weaned I found good homes for them and kept her. She has been a total blessing to me, I love her sooo much. My last cat ,Sidney, died last year after having him for eighteen years. I miss him terribly. A few months back a kitten started coming aroung my back door that has a relarkable reseblance to Sidney. So now I am putting food out for him every day. He has the same mannerisms to my long lost buddy, so who knows, maybe he came back. he spends most of his day here enjoying my back yard. He's wild and won't let me close to him yet, but I am hoping!
peace!
And I agree with the liking for tuna jeff, because I HAVE to share my tuna with my Sneakers, or she'll stare at me as I eat my sandwich! LOL

You cannot trust cats. Ever. They are stealthy like Ninjas. I hate cats. My wife had one once and he and I fought constantly. One day when she was gone, I grabbed that cat, threw his butt out the door and laughed at him through the window.

A couple of hours later, I found him taking a dump on the hood of my brand new Ford truck. The truck was one day old and he knew exactly what he was doing.

After that, it was all out war. For the next several years, I tried many times to end his reign of terror, but to no avail. Eventually, he died of natural causes.

I did not shed a tear......

Tamara:

She wouldn't be a Tortoise-shell tabby, would she?

There is a certain variety - they are mostly female for some reason (some genetic thing); they tend to bond with *only one person*, and are known to show agressiveness to strangers but especially to females of ANY species. Its a mystery, no one knows why.

Those surprise kitties are often the best ones!!! I woke up the other morning feel a soft furry body wrapped around my feet. I don't believe in declawing either, so I have lots of scratches. The other day, the kitten got my nipple. THAT hurt!

LOLOL, cats KNOW! Everytime Scott, my husband, sits with his squirt gun and tortures the cats with it, I threaten him that one of them is going to take a dump in his shoe! Never has happened yet, but I'm waiting.

Some "friends" who turned out to be not so good friends stayed with us while they got on their feet here. They had a Cocker Spaniel that was an ALPHA DOG (note that's in all caps) and they allowed him to be alpha over them. So this dog tried to attack Scott one day, lunged at his face. After several more attempts to bite him, Scott bapped the dog with an aluminum baseball bat and knocked him out for a few minutes. The dog woke up, took a wide path around Scott, went to our bedroom and took a dump on our floor.

Needless to say, they and their dog were asked to leave immediately.

All of my sister's cats HATE me. All of them. I absolutely love animals but her cats just hiss at me.

One cold day I was sitting in front of her fireplace warming up before I had to leave, and her Mama Cat (a beautiful black and white cat with superlong white whiskers) jumped on my lap. I went to pet her, and the biatch took a swipe at me, leaving a long bloody trail, and turned around to hunker down again on MY LAP in front of the fire!

We have two brothers, tabby abysinnian mixes named for the founders of AA - Bill and Bob. They are very different personalities, characters in their own respects. The best part is watching them sneak about in the rafters of our open post and beam design house. They love heights!

This is a little something that I copied and archived from the web a few years ago:

On the first day of creation, God created the cat.

On the second day, God created man to serve the cat.

On the third day, God created all the animals of the earth to serve as potential food for the cat.

On the fourth day, God created honest toil so that man could labor for the good of the cat.

On the fifth day, God created the sparkle ball so that the cat might or might not play with it.

On the sixth day, God created veterinary science to keep the cat healthy and the man broke.

On the seventh day, God tried to rest, but he had to scoop the litterbox.

I have never OWNED a cat, but did HAVE a cat. When my wife and I first moved in together, we lived on a nice, quiet estate. Not long after we arrived, I noticed a turtle-shell kitten (or what I assumed was a kitten) sat in the fence at the end of out path.

When I opened the door, she ran into the house, and I had an incredible job trying to get her back out again. These occurrences continued, and both my wife and I became very fond of her. We came to call her 'Squishy'(for all none 'Finding Nemo' fans - one of the fish in the film comes across a baby jellyfish, and says 'I shall call him Squishy, and he shall be mine, and he shall be my Squishy').

Squishy was a very 'talkative' cat, constantly meowing, always affectionate. We eventually found out that she belonged to our neighbour -he had found her when he moved into his house, she had been abandoned by the previous occupants. He called her 'Molly Scruffbags' on account of the poor condition in which he found her.

The reason she was so keen to run into our house was because after her abandonment, the previous occupants of our home had fed her. When they moved out, leaving the house, she was left to scavenge for food where she could find it. She was not a kitten at all, but was so small simply because she had been malnourished for so long through the years when she would have been growing.

Anyhow, after a year we eventually moved out, and I haven't been back since, but I am still exceptionally fond of that cat :-)

Check out this video. I don't believe there is any sound to it.

It is an amazing clip of a full grown lion remembering the two men who raised her from a cub, a year after they let her loose in the wild. Animals are amazing in their capacity to love.
