I am wondering what people have paid for their 10 year reunions? I am currently one of four women planning our high school reunion and right now the ticket price is $40. Is this a reasonable price?

I don't know. In 1974 I went to the 5 year reunion and never went back after that.

Maybe I'll go to the 50th in 2019 to see who's left.

IF, of course, if I'm still around myself.

I'm invited to one now and $40 seems a lot for just dinner and dance. Especially at a common restaurant everyone goes to anyways. It doesn't feel special or different. And it's only one night. I was just hoping for more. I would be willing to pay more if it had more. Don't have it at the same place people had their grad parties... Lame!

If ten years after graduating you are such a failure you can't afford $40.00, then by all means announce it to your classmates.

Those drunks will need somebody to talk about all evening.
Anything to make their pitiful lives seem worthwhile and substantive.

You folks are funny. The average ticket cost is $75. $40 is amazing.

I think that having to pay to attend your own reunion is pretty crazy. If you ask me, why don't the reunion committee do a fundraiser and ask for donations. There's a website call reunionfund.com that helps you fund raise for that purpose.

You want the reunion committee (who is more than likely all volunteers) to donate ever more of their time to fund raise so that you don't have to spend any money? I think that suggestion is pretty crazy! What people don't seem to understand is that doing stuff costs money...renting a venue, DJ, food, drink, whatever you may be doing isn't going to be free. Anywhere from $50-$100 per person is more than reasonable.
