Depressed girlfriend. Don’t know what to do

I’m struggling right now with my girlfriend. The last time we talked she said she that she thinks that she’s depressed. I asked her why she thinks she does because she doesn’t look like she is, but I can never be too sure. I don’t know how to respond to her or deal with her without hurting her feelings.

I care about her and her state. She’s my first girlfriend after that failed relationship with someone I met during one of those foreign matchmaking socials. I feel so helpless when she has these “episodes.” I need some advice on how I can help out my girl. We’re currently looking for therapists in Michigan area. Can someone suggest a good but not so expensive one? I would really appreciate your help.

She needs a natural diet and no fast food. Lots of exercise out in direct sunlight. Sunlight takes away depression. She should take vitamins - they're natural uppers. Maybe she can upgrade her skillset and get a better job $$$ might help
Best of luck but I dont' think a therapist will help.

Cut down on bedtime snacks. It lays too heavy on the stomach and comes up into the throat when you are lying flat.
Tell her to eat a piece of pure cholate for lunch instead of regular meal.
The chocolate will give her a warm secure feeling without drugs.

You need to both start drinking heavily....no seriously.

Bad advice.

Pray together that God will lead you to a good church.

Start fellowshipping with believers.

Seek some wise counsel from elders within the church.

Just be careful in whom you turn to too. Yes , even in church.

But, that's where you guys wanna start.

Listen to her, be considerate of her. Depression is crippling, and it can cause a person to seem careless and/or mean, rude, disrespectful, distant, etc. Understand this, and be patient with her. Let her know that you are available when she needs you, and that you understand she's in a dark place right now. Hold her. Hold her hand. Squeeze her. Make her feel warm and secure. Now's not the time for arguments, bickering, pressuring, or anything of the like. Care about the things she's telling you bothers her, show her they bother you for her. If something in wrong in her life, let her know you're going to help her fix it, and then help her fix it.

Depression isn't something that goes away over night. Your girlfriend will need to work on it, and, if you decide to stay in her life, you will need to help her, and possibly yourself as well. I do suggest therapy if your girlfriend is struggling. You may even be able to find some free classes online somewhere, such as Facebook, that might help her some, and even you. Read up on depression and what it is and how to cope with it. As her boyfriend, you'll find it rewarding to learn about what she's going through.

Good luck to both of you. Prayers, God bless.
