C-mon Bob.....It's common knowledge that Reagan was the Best thing to happen to this country after Nixon.
Nope. Reagan nearly wiped out the US economy, with his spend-spend-spend-like-there-i s-no-tomorrow.

He **did** wipe out domestic oil drilling, to the point it was dormant until fairly recently.

I simply cannot say enough negative things about Ronnie Ray-Gun.

I first read about him, when he hooked up a muffler off of a car, to his Bar-B-Q to make it more intense.

Yes-- it will be that. I expect everyone in North America will hear it when it goes-- except for those a wee bit too close, who won't.

... what with being dead an'all.

According to some scientists, the last time it blew, it deposited debris all the way to the Atlantic coast-- and likely beyond, into the sea itself.

I also expect they'll hear it in Japan too.

Only in this country are drunks/lawbreakers rewarded. I always wondered what was the outcome at the SanFrancisco Zoo.
Did they ever check their blood levels for booze and drugs?

Public intoxication..admitted
Trespassing....footprint
Taunting....admitted and witnessed

Three strikes and the cat's out.
I found it facinating that the cat scaled a wall that's been there for I believe thirty years and only went after them......What an adrenaline rush!
Here we have a wild cat that's confined and probably miserable... being teased by a mouse.
The very mouse that put him/her there!....man!
It was rumored that a slingshot was involved.

A little discipline would have gone a long way here...Yes?
May they have nightmares for the rest of their lives!
I may sound cruel but this is one of the reasons I love Karma.

Let me refresh your memory........

2. Reaganomics: Reagan’s mix of across-the-board tax cuts, deregulation, and domestic spending restraint helped fuel an economic boom that lasted two decades. Reagan inherited a misery index (the sum of the inflation and unemployment rates) of 19.99%, and when he left office it had dropped to 9.72%. President Obama take note: Under Reaganomics, 16 million new jobs were created.

Nope.

Trickle-down "economics" has long since been shown to not work.

It never has, and it never did-- all it does? Is make the rich...richer.

As for his massive deregulations? The tyson chicken massacre is a direct result of that, where a tyson chicken processing plant caught fire, and most of the workers died-- due to deregulation.

There are similar horrible tales of woe in the beef industry, as a direct result of deregulation.

The gulf oil spill, the Alaskan oil spill and the too-many-to-count oil pipleline breaks/spills are all a result of his deregulation.

As a result? The top folk (filthy rich, all) are even richer-- and they **never** pay the price for their massive mistakes, which lead the massive loss of life, and even more massive environmental disasters, most of which was picked up by the taxpayer.

As for your alleged "economic boom"? Pure bogosity.

Well......That's a first!
The icon demon is in my corner.lol

This is the last I'm sayin on this subjet. I'll even let you have the last word.

maybe

'You' remember what was goin on Bob....Interest rates went through the ceiling. You could just sit on your money in the bank and collect 16 17 percent interest. Why risk it on a business venture.
No new business... no new jobs.
Unemployment skyrockets.
President Reagan had a 'plan' He said it may take 20 to 25 years for us to 'recover'. I thought...damn I'll be in my forties. That's so old! lol We did it in 18.
Bush 'stayed the course' as did Clinton.
No boom.....just Reaganomics.

As for 98 99.....with everyone doctoring their books ( Enron, Worldcom, etc ).....We were misled into believing there was a 'boom' in the economy.

That was American greed!

We've been in the toilet ever since.

We had 8 years of trickle-down eco under Reagon, then again 4 years under bush 1, and another under bush 2.

Did it work? No.

That is ample time for the trickle-down to ... trickle-down.

It didn't work.

It never does-- the rich are always in it to get richer--never to help others gain any ground.

I think it's obsurd that they raise the speed limit to 70.
Were'nt there enough fatalities last year?
How bout wildlife maimings/deaths?

I got it...
We're not burning/wasting enough fuel.

For the life of me ..I can't think of one good reason.

Yep. It was nice. We drove to my brother's house, met with our extended family, and drove back.

No overnighting, which is always stressful.

A lovely day.

Excellent.

It got a bit cool here, by local standards. I walked to the store earlier - in jeans, a jacket, and SOCKS!

I am socked! Socked and appalled!
