The Japanese invented HFCS. You can bet that woman who went off at Dunkin' Donuts is full of that man-made sweetener called High Fructose Corn Syrup. This stuff is going to be the death of many Americans. Now tell me, is this stuff a part of the Japanese diet(in Japan- not the U.S.)? They do have a lot of suicides in Japan so May-bee. Anyhow, I just read a post about extinction and I really believe that Americans are getting closer to that by way of the belly. Type 2 diabetes and heart trouble have shot way up since food producers went from sugar to high fructose corn syrup ,especially in KIDS. Corn farmers are getting government welfare to over-produce corn and the high fructose corn syrup production, sale and use in goods is through the roof. I tried to get some "Little Debbie" treat the other night and all the varieties have HFCS. Little trans-fat but full of HFCS. I take my organic flour, sugar etc. and make my own--about 5 ingredients only. Look for the sweetener HFCS in all prepared foods and avoid it like the plague, because it is. HFCS is in all the major company Breads. Why did the Japanese do this to US?

I can not stand having high fructose corn syrup in bread. I've looked everywhere for bread without high fructose and the only thing I could find was the flour tortilla bread. But I can only do so much of that. I like light bread, but they have got to get that fake sweetener out. I read too much that is wrong with it, of course along with some who don't think so.

Yeah, some of the posts in this topic? Totally not ethnocentric or xenophobic in any way, whatsoever.:| My advice? Go visit Japan and do some research on it's history before making ridiculous claims and assumptions.

blame corn syrup. it couldn't be that you ate too much of it!

seriously, fructose is bad, hfcs is bad... even oxygen is bad if you get too much of it!

the evidence suggests that hfcs - assuming it's not contaminated, etc.- is not much worse than table sugar. see what i mean here... http://www.antiagingjournal.org/high-fructose...

It wasn't 'the Japanese' who invented high-fructose corn syrup - it was an individual, Kei Yamanaka!

It also wasn 't 'the Swiss' who invented heroin, nor 'the Japanese' who invented mono-sodium glutimate - it was, of course, in each case - an individual!

there is a bottled drink called Pure or something. when i saw a Mango Pure, i bought and drank it right away. when i read the content, OMG !! it contained high fructose corn syrup !!! WTF !!! when it says Pure, i thought everything was natural, nothing added. it says 10% fruit juice.

i only drank about less than 1/2 of the bottle. i threw it away.

always READ the content before drinking. don't be fooled by the word PURE.
