This is hard for me to post:
Recently my son was diagnosed with Sarcoma. I'm a young, poor, father from South Africa who can't find a job and has no way to pay for his bills.

Doctors say it could cost up to R1.2 million which is about $100 000. I hope you can find it in your heart to help us out.

My son is 7 years old and is suffering sarcoma which is a type of cancer that works in the tissue's that support and connect the body.
I hate seeing him in pain, as I'm sure all parents would for their kids.

The doctors around here were kind enough to lend us a hand with a few weeks of free medication though without proper treatment they say that when the medication runs out, he will start having a tough time once again.

If I can get enough funds between now and the end of 2014, I have been told that there is a good chance we could still eradicate the problem before it becomes too serious!

I know it's a large sum to be asking for but I'm just hoping that someone will be able to help me out however they can!

South Africa is supposed to have socialized medicine like Obamacare.

So what's the problem?

Hi Cisco Kid, South Africa does not have socialized medicine like Obamacare or like any other place. If you do not belong to a medical aid (and pay your monthly subscriptions) you do not have medical cover. That is it in a nutshell. This man has got big problems that I know (he does not have medical aid) so he is basically between a rock and a hard place.

Good morning, have you gone to the Helen Joseph Hospital or the Johannesburg General Hospital? If you in a pickle and have no job then they should help you for basically free until you get yourself sorted out. Good luck friend.

Sorry to hear that.
I am a compassionate capitalist American and have a hard time understanding why a great country like South Africa doesn't have some kind of social medical assistance.

After all, SA has a 25% unemployment rate that needs to be considered.

They talked about having something like the National Health (like the UK) but it never seemed to happen. When the ANC came into power there was going to be State Medical Aid for ALL. We are long down the line now and still nothing. If you do not have medical aid, you are in trouble with a big T.
