Whatever China has stolen isn't a drop in the bucket compared to what the big US corps have GIVEN them. Not to mention, do you realize how much we are in debt to China? Stop them? We helped create them. We've become their lap dogs thanks to lax gov't oversight and complacency about corps sending jobs overseas.

If you really want to hurt China in some way, stop buying all that cheap crap they send over here. Stop buying new cell phones, TVs, PCs, laptops, GPSs, etc that are made in China. And stay the hell outta Walmart! They use the Chinese people for slave labor then sell the cheap crap to us, which makes them, along with other big corps complicit.

But remember, one day that debt we owe will be called in. Since our brokers packaged and sold US mortgages to Chinese investors, whose land is it when the buyers default? Think about that one before you start saying how China has stolen so much when the fact is, they own much of the US through legal means, and the best gov't money can buy allowed it to happen.

You know, it's not really 'slave' labor. Everybody in China works. and nobody starves in that country of one billion people. can't say that about america, the so-called richest country in the world.
also, there are No homeless people in Mainland China. Shoot, I was homeless right here on the left coast for the better part of six years.
perhaps we need something like that on this side of the pond. get all them welfare assholes off their butts and back to work. all the frickin losers from mex would RUN back to their country if they had to work for a living.

You are right, technically it isn't slave labor. Walmart, however, could afford to pay a fair wage even here; I understand that in China what they pay is considered a fair wage. This particular corp was used as just one example of many of the US corps that have done the same thing, created jobs for people overseas, while leaving the people in their own country with few jobs if any. I also understand that the jobs these corps created in China have helped China's economy and its people; but this trend of big US corps being allowed to seek out the cheapest labor they can find around the world while providing nothing to the US consumers who buy their products has caused more hardships at home to the people who monetarily support the companies in the first place. This has been allowed to the detriment of the US citizenry.

Would we have homeless people in the US if the corps hadn't been given carte blanche to seek cheap overseas labor? Absolutely, but not nearly as many as we have now with people losing homes for lack of jobs and mostly because of other reasons than not being able to find a job, i.e. mental illness and such.

Yes, maybe we need to take a more isolationist approach, as China did for many years. We shouldn't allow big corps based in our country to first seek overseas labor, but should require them to create jobs in the country in which they are based first and foremost so that those people who are spending money on cheap stuff from those same big corps because that's all they can afford to buy at least have a job in order to make a living.

But first and more importantly, we need to stop allowing our gov't to give the Fed carte blanche to keep printing more and more dollars all the while borrowing those same dollars from China. In order to "stop China," we must first stop our gov't from allowing it control over certain aspects of US finances. Now the question is, how do we do so? I don't think we can at this point without major consequences as they both seem to be too well intertwined.

Yep. after obama bailed out GM, they went and opened a plant in mexico. Lot of frickin good that did the US economy. back when bush was on the way out, they said that the dems could get a chimp elected because everybody was tired of the repubs stupidity. Bet nobody thought they'd actually do it.(actually, I think that that statement is an insult to chimps everywhere.)

And I wonder exactly how many US dollars went into offshore and overseas accounts after Bush bailed out the banks. Republicans, and I am a registered one, and Democrats are two sides of the same coin. Both major parties have been bought and paid for by the corps. Personally, I'll never voted for either again. It's not a truly democratic election when there are only two viable options, and Rep/Dem used to be one party in itself. Seems that's still the case. Obama, Bush....same, same.

Indeed. The chimp has to have more integrity than either one of those clowns, that's for sure.

Yes, a lot of money has simply 'disappeared'. Add to that the feds are buying huge chunks of stock from the rich at pre-recession prices. Why?
You know that most people raise families on what amounts to lunch money for the rich, so why do they need that much, and more?
about ten years ago, I was hitch-hiking from Centralia washington back to Los Angeles, and got picked up by a guy in a Gold Lexus. He was on his cell phone, arguing with his credit card company. He said that a sudden down-turn in one of the blue chip stocks had cut him short that month, and he'd make a sixty percent payment today, and make up the difference at the first of the month. He said that 'twenty thousand Is sixty percent, but If the company wanted twenty one and change then he'd make the payment in that amount, and hung up. twenty one thousand dollars for one month on his credit card.man. earlier that day I scored coffee money, and felt Great about it.
when I got out of the guys car at Santa Nella, he held onto my hand as I shook with him and asked if I wanted any money. Told him I was fine, and thanks for the ride.

China is one of the worst countries in the world the only reason we tolerate them is money.Money is there God and that is all they care about.Money is the root of all evil.
evil is where the money is.The reason we cant break ties with them is the fact that unions have made our work force extremly lazy and overpaid.Look at Lockheed Martin in Ft worth what a wonderfully unionized workforce they have
