I actually find people who aren't so good with social cues are generally more moral & cause less problems.
A lot of very sociable people are generally bad people.
They maybe very sociable but a lot of them are just as likely to cause problems out of their sociability.
A lot of very sociable people seem far more likely to go to jail than people with more asperger tendencies.
Bars are filled with very sociable people who are often very bad people.
Generally the more sociable they are the worse they are as people.
I actually find often times very sociable people can be more selfish actually.
They are more manipulative & manipulate people for their benefit & selfishness.
A lot of very sociable people are needy. They lack intellectual stimulation.
So they are dependent on others to get this sort of stimulation.
Gangsters, Politicians, CEO's are almost always sociable & are often times horrible people.
Their social needs sometimes drives them to get excessive "greed" to impress others.
Gangsters are typically very sociable people who become gangsters to get greed to impress other people.
You forgot most of Immoral/dumbed down Soldier boys ...are just as bad as those sociopath and pyschopaths u talking about! Bahhaahahaaa

I'm a female engineer, and other than all the quirkiness I can honestly say with a bias that engineers are no more selfish or frugal than any other field. (Also girl engineers are just as awesome)

My you people are cruel! I am totally emotional with my girl and love her to death. She is an artsy, but a hell of a smart one at that. I come from a family of 14, and being selfish is something I do not understand.
But alas, I do agree that this is a common problem, from my own personal views! But please, marrying with each other wont solve this issue.
In short, we are not all that bad, some better than most. But the percentage is very low :(.
I love my engineer boyfriend to death :-)

Engineers spend a lot of time in school writing papers and learning how to spell. Either you are lying... or you just started school... Either way it's sad.

All my ex-girlfriends told me my hearth is stone. I think it is pointless to worry about things that we can't change.
For example: Oh my god, our cat was run over... oh....(pfuj I hate when somebody is crying, so pathetic.) Now I have a new cat (called Testla). The previous (called Newton) had better attributes, but this small devil will improve I hope. Should I have cried because the death of my cat? my ex-girlfriend did. We bought him together...
So all in all I agree. Somehow too much racional thinking kills emotions. After a while most of the engineers become "racional creatures". Even with spending money. And after a whle most of the engineers realise that if you live yor life this way, you can avoid most of the difficulties.
My frinds don't dare to ask my opinion sometimes, because i tell what is the truth, and not what they want to hear. Never forget that engineers are usually straight. They wll say in yor eye what they will say behind your back.
-Do you like my new hairstyle?
-No, it is awful.
:-D I have had a girfriend for 3 years. She loves me. At the begining we had difficulties for example, when she went to visit her parets to the other side of the country and she told me:
"As soon as I get there I will call you."
I answered:
"Why?"
But she got used my style.

I agree that some engineers are selfish, rude, and emotionless, but exceptions do exist! My boyfriend is living proof of that. He's intelligent, yet interesting, funny, kind, and loving. He has the mind of an engineer but the heart of an artsy. <3
The key word here is 'boyfriend'. Marriage is different. Believe!

I dated an engineer. He was so sweet, well-read, we loved the same kind of movies, we laughed. We got engaged, I was in college, came home to my parents' house to go house-hunting w/ him. We looked at two, count'em, two houses and I didn't like either one. One was just too, too sparse, but right on a lake he loved. I thought it was waaay too remote and lonely and said so. I went back to college, expecting to do more house-hunting. He BOUGHT the house! Oh, how I wish I had broken it off.

We did get married, and all courtship stopped. He plans vacation destinations and itineraries! Everything is all about him. I have had equal say on subsequent houses. But he does not respond to reason. Only when I pitch a fit.

He takes out the garbage. Not every day, just when it's full or stinks. And not at night. This morning at 5:49. I was still asleep. The bedroom is 6' from the kitchen--and the garbage cabinet. BANG BANG BANG. He doesn't CARE.

Our house has many windows, but, modern, and the windows in the LR and DR do not open. Only BR windows. I would like screen doors on the front and back so I can air out the house! But NO, we don't need that, he says.

I'd also like a heavier, real wood BR door. But NO, we don't need that, he says.

Ann Landers used to say, "Are you better off with him or are you better off without him?" Well, having been a stay-at-home mom, and having taken 5 years to raise a g-child, I haven't kept myself qualified to make a decent living, so I stay here. But I am sooo fed up, I can't stand it.

Never marry an engineer. After courtship, he has reached his goal. You are the goal. He will use you until there isn't any more.

Oh, yes, if you think all this is generalizing, do a Search: engineers + autism. There's a huge correlation. Auto-ism ~ self-ism ~ selfish!

There's lots more I could tell you about him, like pushing me away from the thermostat when I got too hot while pregnant in the summer in FL, but he didn't want it any cooler than 78F, things like that, but you get the point.

I am currently in a devoted friendship with a future electrical engineer. My background is health science and physical therapy, but I absolutely LOVE math, especially agebra! 2 + 2 will always equal 4, it never changes, even though science changes. Anyway, although I am not an engineer, I've programmed a computer game in middle school and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My friend, he does have emotions and expresses it when he wants or needs to. He is also pretty funny! At times, he will not compromise especially when he knows something is better, and I tend to follow his lead at times. If it is not beneficial to me, I will decline. I love him though and I am glad he's my friend.

This is just ridiculous!
I have recently started to date an phd hydrodynamic engineer student who is also a university engineering tutor at university for first year engineering students.
He is very intelligent, funny, kind, sweet and humble who does like to play pranks. We are different as I'm a nursing student who loves psychology and boxing.
I believe this is just stereotypical. I have dated sport men, and someone who has a mental health problem but yet your putting engineers in a box, therfore making it a stereotype that all are... whatever. The person who wrote don't marry one obviously has had some sort of drama with the previous relationship, please don't put people in boxes.. not all are the same.

My boyfriend is an engineer, and I'm happy to say that he is the best I ever had. He is loving, kind, respectful, down to earth and sweet. All those who think engineers are all the same, I personally think you got a skewed understanding of them.

I have the most wonderful boyfriend who happens to be in school to become the great engineer. He is by far the best boyfriend a girl could ask for. He remembers everything...which can be good or bad, but do not say anything you do not mean. He will remember every detail about your first date as well as every detail of all the others after that. Yes, they tend to be frugal with money, but that is a good thing. You need someone to be able to handle finances.(At least you don't have to do it yourself) They also tend to be very responsible and honest. They tell you exactly how they feel with out any fluff.(Which makes them easier to read then some other men) If you are dating an engineer keep doing it! They are great men! If you aren't, then find the person who attracts you. Everyone will find there person. Do not let a website tell you who to date or who not to. But, engineers are great men.
