There's not enough oil left to matter on this continent. Blame the Democrats? You are a moron. Oil fields take a decade to develop, and in the end, will just go to enriching the oil companies. Right now, the oil companies have shut down refineries just to keep the price high.

anwar which hold 10.4 billion barrels of oil (see 2003 USSG) enough to get of mideast oil for over 7 yrs. could be at full capacity in less then 2 years look it up. and better we get tax money then the saudis

I don't think there's anyone saying 2 years. It would take longer than that to put in enough infrastructure in the area just to be able to start drilling. Right now you've got Exxon-Mobile keeping refineries off line just to keep prices up. That's not the solution.

I read where even if we drilled all the oil in the U.S. we would still have only 5% of what we need. The only way to get this right is for the car manufacturers to make more efficient cars. There is no need for the gas guzzlers we now have on the roads.

Does this mean you think the Republicans are blameless? One bill, one vote so it must be their fault?

I hope gas goes to $10/gallon and just maybe we’ll develop technologies we can live with. Clean hydrogen powered cars.

Once we develop those technologies we can sell them to the world and short up our trade deficit a bit.

frist of all some of infrastucture is already there. there are pipe lines going through anwar from pruhoe bay which carry oil south to the southern coast of alaska. permits need fast tracking but this is for national security.rigs take about 1 to 1/2 years to assemble and setup. goggle it

the US has 29 billion barrels of oil in known reserves as of the begining of 2008 and another potentional 10.4 billion in anwar alaska. that is enought to power the US for 6 years without a drop of imported oil. that does not count what hasnt be discover on the upper west or the entire east coast. did you know that there is not one oil well along the whole east coast from maine to florida.

going explain the so called oil crisis we have. you can look up all this on the government website (USSG) the US use about 20 million barrels of oil a day. it produce about 9 million barrels a day, and exports 1 million. net 8 million. needs to import about 12 million more barrels. gets only 5 million barrels from the saudi, venezuela, and other in opec. that is what we need to replace.first and foremost.if the democrats and serria club let us drill in anwar for the 10.4 billion barrels of oil that would replace all the imported oil from the mideast for five years. 1.8 billion barrels of imported mideast oil per year. divide 10.4 billion by 1.8 billion useage per year and that give us 5 years.

those 10.4 billion barrels of oil lets say for giggles is price way below todays cost of $110. lets do it at $75 a barrel shall we. that means 75 x 10.4 billion barrels is worth about 780 billion dollars. that means that oil is worth 780 billion dollars tax dollars cause every dollar spent here is tax here till it disappears in the governments pocket.

Actually Caribou would be undisturbed except for the extra warmth, if they want, when they get close to the perfectly safe pipes.

How about horse and buggy? It only costs grass and a vet bill. Leave the gas to the military and commercial users....like truckers. Im a little biased. I used to be one.

If we removed the Federal and State Taxes from gas the price would drop significantly
