Should I marry my gf who is pregnant with my child?

I got my girlfriend pregnant. She’s 6 months pregnant now and her family is wondering if we are planning to get married. I’m not yet that ready to get married anytime soon. Should I marry her? I am not going to run away from my obligation and responsibilities as the father of my child but I’m wondering if there is really a need to get married these days. I’m starting to think that marriage is quite useless but maybe this is just an unconventional view.

My gf comes from a country where marriage is a big deal whereas I come from a country where it is more liberated and relaxed when it comes to marriage. This results to a clash in our beliefs and culture. I think I really need a foreign bride 101 lecture so I know what to expect if we do get married. I’m quite confused as to what I should do next. My life is a blur as of this moment and I need some words of wisdom. I love my gf but the idea of marriage is just not appealing to me as of this moment.

Just because she is pregnant does not mean you two need to get married in my opinion. Both of you can be together and raise a child without being married if it is not something you want to do. With her culture putting an emphasis on marriage I guess it would be time to ask yourself if you plan to stay together for a long time. If you two are going to live together, raise the child together, and be together than maybe getting married isn't something too bad to consider if it would make her happy. Whatever you do make sure to do it for you two versus everyone else.

Just go MGTOW, pay your child support and live your own life. She just spermjacked you as women are doing these days. You will be out of THEIR life (her and HER kids) in 3 yrs or less. That's how they roll today. Don't get emotionally involved.

OP said himself that he "got her pregnant." I have to wonder whether he did it by accident or on purpose.

Then maybe you should have tried a little harder not to "get your girlfriend pregnant." I hope she's at least over 20 and has completed high school.

Or maybe SHE should have tried a little harder not to get pregnant. Gee, you gurls have a smorgasbord of birth control options these days, yet NEVER take responsibility for your own failings. HE did not get pregnant, SHE did. duh.

Do you really believe all forms of birth control are 100% guaranteed against unwanted pregnancy? If you do believe that, you're not as smart as you think you are. Because there's no form of BC that has a 100% guarantee against getting pregnant. Failures can and do happen sometimes.

Besides, the OP's first words were "I got my girlfriend pregnant, which makes me wonder if it was on purpose or by accident. If it was on purpose, it was hardly her fault, was it.

Oh, you want to try to blame and knock the man by default, but when it comes to the gurl...we get a song and a dance from you. MGTOW is spreading like wildfire, little gurl. You are a good example of why.

The #1 way to prevent divorce is to not get married. Check the statistics: 93% of marriages do not last 10 yrs today, 80% of divorces are filed by the woman, child custody is given to the woman 85% of the time. If you want to get divorce-raped then go ahead and get in that line. Otherwise, save yourself and check out MGTOW. Reddit is a good place to start.

Whatever. It seems to me you're getting a little bent out of shape just because I challenged your claim that OP's GF getting pregnant was all her fault. Tough. The fact is, it doesn't matter how the pregnancy happened. It did happen, so OP has to make a decision; get married or not. The choice is up to him, no matter what you or anyone says.

Awwww, your little gurly tactics not working with me? LMAO! Get bent, little gurl. The ho got herself pregnant through lack of responsibility.

Get bent yourself. It doesn't really matter how the pregnancy happened at this point anyway. OP's girlfriend is pregnant now, whether he wanted to "get her pregnant" (his words on his first post) or not. And he can't force her to abort if he doesn't want to be stuck with a kid.

He doesn't seem to be too keen on marriage either. If the girlfriend really did "spermjack" him, hoping that would work to get him to marry her, it was a bad plan. Why any woman would want to marry a guy who isn't ready or willing to get married is beyond me. Thank goodness I'll never be stuck in a lousy situation like that.

Yes. Time to settle down in your life and start a family. You can do it. Congratulations by the way buddy. The Lord will always be by your side protecting you and your family from this point on, no doubt about it. Now good luck! ;·)

You obviously missed the point. OP doesn't want to get married, not really. He made that pretty clear in his first post. Personally, I hope he doesn't get married. There's nothing good about marriage to a person, be that a man or a woman, who never wanted to get married in the first place. More often than not, forced marriage only creates two things; anger and resentment.
