In many of Vintage Township’s home styles and pre-constructed homes, a porch is a special feature that brings a lot of added value to a home. In this new traditional development in Lubbock, Texas, porches are intended to encourage interaction among families and fellow residents. Most of the community members take full advantage of their porches and love to be outside in the fresh air, and in the company of others.
Most of the things you can do in your home, you can also do outside on your porch. Being experts on porch living, some of Vintage Township’s residents have listed their favorite porch activities:
Dinners by Sunset – No matter what you’re having for supper, it can be enjoyed just as much outside. With the sun setting around dinnertime, it is a special experience to sit around the porch table with your family and unwind from a long day’s work (or school.)
Tip: Bring an insect repellant candle to sit on your table. Not only will it keep your food bug-free, but it will smell yummy, too.
Game Night – In the evening times, many of the porches that are nestled in the front of Vintage Township homes are hushed. But ever so often, you will hear a few families laughing and shouting over a good game of Monopoly. With some candle- or porch-light, the outside atmosphere is not only intimate, but fun and collaborative, too!
Tip: Don’t forget your paperweights. With a cool Texas breeze, you could watch your fake money fly right into the pockets of your opponent!
Recreational Reading – As hard working adults, reading is the easiest activity to put off until we have more time. But reading is also one of our favorite hobbies that we often wish we could do more of. Summer and weekends are the perfect times to dedicate to going through your reading wish list. Reading outside on a comfortable chair, couch or hammock can make is so much nicer.
Tip: Make some lemonade to quench your thirst. It’s light and refreshing and will make your “porch reading” experience more indulging.
We invite you to come join us at Vintage Township. For information, visit www.vintagetownship.com . If you do take a tour of our available homes in Lubbock Texas, feel free to sit on a porch and enjoy the Texas sunlight.
While you’re there, look out for neighbors walking and waving. They too, may be joining you one day on your very own Vintage porch.
