I know a lot of people dislike God, but that's only because you don't understand Him. And most of the people that dislike God have never even read the bible or prayed, let alone tried to live right, Only going by what people have said to them. So if you're one of these people I just described your opinion isn't wanted here, because its not YOUR opinion your sharing. Its someone else's, so spare me the secondhand lies.

I think one of the biggest reasons that Christianity is rejected is because of it's exclusive claim to be the only way to get to God. This comes straight from Jesus Christ, who said; "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6)

Maybe it's the way some christians jump to conclusions and make assumptions? Just my humble opinion, of course.

I differentiate between religion, and God. God is God, religion is a man-made contrivance which is the human beings attempt to explain God, which we really don't understand. That's why there are so many religions, they all seem to contradict each other, they all claim to be right, and I believe none of them have it completely right! But the bottom line as to why people hate gotta do want to believe in Him, is because they don't want to believe or accept that there is ("may be") a final accounting of the way you lived your life and of what you believed in did, once you are already dead and it's too late to change things. If you're not living the way you should, then that is a pretty terrifying idea!

That could be a factor for some.

It's that painting with a broad brush thing, if you catch my drift.

I understand completely. I would much rather debate and talk.
