I'll try and answer the question without any sarcasm. It all boils down to this, it depends on the whim of the authorities. In some cases just yelling at a child may be considered "abuse". So what's the answer? Feed 'em, clothe 'em, love them, send them out the door, pray for good luck.

A previous poster was correct, whether or not something is considered abuse is up to the authorities and "common sense" which I don't know why it's called that since so few people have it. But assuming you're talking about corporal punishment, spanking their but with an open hand or paddle is just spanking, striking them upside the face or anywhere with a fist, that's abuse. But then you get into all the different kinds of abuse, like verbal and psychological which often leave deeper more permanent scars than the worst corporal punishment ever could. so the only thing you can do is determine what kind of abuse you allege is happening, and go to CPS (Child protective services) NOT just to the police.

It changes from discipline to discipline and bondage as soon as mom ties their hands behind them and makes them call her 'Mistress'! As far as being abuse, well that depends on whether or not mom honors the safe word when they say it.
