During the LA-StL game yesterday, a translator had to be brought out to the mound along with the coach to talk to the Korean pitcher, Ryu.
Things must be pretty desperate, when a team has to field a player
before the player gets a chance to study Rosetta Stone so he can
at least learn the basics of our language.
The Texas Rangers have a Pitcher from Japan, Yu Darvish, that requires having a translator. When he got here, he couldn't speak a word of English. He's learning English quickly, and can converse with team mates, but the translator is still on hand just so there is no confusion during critical situations.

He's one heck of a pitcher, and it would be nice if his team mates would produce some runs when he's pitching.

According to the TBS announcers last night, the Dodgers do better at the box office when he pitches.
Quitcherbitchin....
Apparently a lot of Koreans live in L.A. What did they say last night, when Rhu's pitching, about 17,000 of them show up at the park.

What do you think Willie, does this seem like a good night to steal one from the home team?

“I sit here all day trying to persuade people to do the things they ought to have sense enough to do without my persuading them,” Harry Truman once lamented.
"Communism is based on the belief that man is so weak and inadequate that he is unable to govern himself, and therefore requires the rule of strong masters.

Democracy is based on the conviction that man has the moral and intellectual capacity, as well as the inalienable right, to govern himself with reason and justice." - also Truman

60 years ago these quotes meant something, they resonated with society. Today the words have lost their true meaning and have been redefined.

"Sense Enough", "Conviction", "Moral", "Intellectual Capacity", "Reason" and finally "Justice"

Now they've got what they wanted....and they're crying foul because they also got what they didn't want: the blame.
I hope they have a bunch of full Kleenex boxes on hand for the crocodile tears.
Heck, that's nothing new. The Tea Party has getting the blame for everything, by the media, the pResident, Democrats and the 'old guard, big government' Republicans.

I think they wanted government scaled back not shut down......
They tried to fund the entire government, with just a few exceptions. Unfortunately, obama and his Democrats, plus a couple dozen RINO Republicans aren't interested in getting their spending in check.

All I said was they wanted it scaled back and you apparently agree with me..........Are we both high?
By the way the debt is going down. First time in over a decade probably........
You're living in a bubble if you aren't aware that Republicans, and especially TP Republicans, have been calling for a government shutdown since at least 2010. You would have to ignore the speeches - available on your favorite video compiler - calling expressly for a gov't shutdown. You would have to be oblivious of those coming out of that meeting on Sept. 30, all grins and thumbs-up, when it was determined that a shutdown was imminent. You would have to be ignorant of those saying, on camera, "We got just what we wanted." You would have to be ignorant of the quiet, last-minute "minor" change in House rules that now prohibited anyone but the Speaker to call a bill to a vote.

You can say they're resolute, courageous, maverick, or any number of gushy superlatives.

But you cannot say Republicans didn't want to shut the government down.

Not truthfully anyway....

And you're the perfect representative of Tea Party evasiveness. Everyone has witnessed you "hint" at this or that, and when challenged, you bat your big doe-eyes and say, "Wha? I dint say I bleeved that, I wuz jus sayin'...".

The Tea Party/You are the epitome of the proverbial man that farts and points at the dog.

Disagreement and skepticism are not hate, Chris....at least not in my book.
As for the young lady, she's one of millions of kids who are bullied every day. Suicide is a choice most bullied kids don't make...I know I didn't.
Condolences to her family, however.
Right you are, disagreement isn't hate. However you go far and beyond disagreement with Christians IMHO. When you say things like you won't give an inch, we've taken miles in a time where Chrisitans are being jailed, killed and tourted in parts of the world (no shock media wont cover it) it's way beyond meer disagreement.
