Yes. It makes them feel good about themselves.
Racism is still rampant in this country. People (folks?) are just more careful about it. They see someone slip, and they say,'Well, he didn't Actually Say that, so it's OK.' But we all Know what he meant.
Look at zimmerman. He's going to get away with killing that black kid because of a bad law. And Aaron hernandez? He was making two million a year, and he couldn't get away from his 'gangster' mentality. You don't think some folks aren't looking at his laitno name and snickering at his situation? If you deny it, you're lying to yourself.(thats for everyone, Sis, not just you.)
remember the old saying, You can take the kid out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the kid.'
I'll bet that hernandez thinks his situation is someone else's fault. and zimmerman thinks he was right.
four people are dead, and neither of those two were 'right'.
It would appear as if Hernandez chose to embrace the thug life that led to people being killed. George Zimmerman should be found not guilty because of the abundance of reasonable doubt . The stand your ground law is not even a part of the case . Self defense however is.

I live in the south but was born and raised in NYC. I frequently read op-ed pieces from northern transplants talking about their apprehensions about moving south.Usually when some racial issue is in the news. They take the opportunity to pounce and praise the progressive utopia the left and take cheap shots at native southerners.Makes me wonder what made them leave in the first place.Bottom line is they are FOS. I lived there for 50 years and I say without reservation racism was rampant in NY, in both directions. At least in the south common courtesy is the norm unlike the abundance of rude self absorbed idiots inhabiting NY.BTW Emperor Bloomberg now wants to ban sparklers from July 4 celebrations. What a utopia.
Yes. I lived close enough to see it in Washington D.C. for 3 years. Also my pop was in Philly for a time when working for an airline and I didn't witness much brotherly love during a visit. Its the old saying if its so great why did you leave and move here? I hope I never have to step foot in some of these places again but if I did make I would make the best of it. Nobody wants to hear how you did it elsewhere. New York city is on another level. Looks like Weiner may win. Ha.

The regulations governing citizen groups like 'neighborhood watch' say that No officer, guard, or patrolperson, whichever is used in this instance, will carry or use a gun.
zimmerman was 'outside the law' when he pulled the gun, and committed an act of murder when he used it.
I say he had it because he wanted to know what it was like to kill someone.

The trashing of a woman's career, over the fact that she told the truth in a deposition, about a private conversation held thirty years ago, simply affords the trashers the ability to rationalize the fact that the real problems of racism in this country still persist, in spite of her public witch burning....
It's not like they've found the last racist in America, in Paula Deen....but they sure would like to think so.
From the little I've learned of Deen this week she isn't a racist.

Really? I carry a cdl and as any driver knows you can't have a gun in the truck. That being said I've known drivers that go into high crime areas and do so anyway. The law is not always right. And if it does come to riots some people are going to have quite a wake up call.

Pure speculation.
1. Why call the police BEFORE shooting Martin?
2. Zimmerman's weapon was being legally carried.
3. Killing in self defense is a homicide but its not murder.

I'd say that George Zimmerman had a weapon because he didn't want to find out what it was like to be killed... and he had a permit that legally entitled him to carry a concealed weapon. I suppose that's why George Zimmerman wasn't charged with illegally carrying a weapon.

It turned out that he needed that weapon to save his life.

There are literally hundreds of similar examples of "obama voters" on YouTube.
As there are hundreds of examples of 'low information' Congresscritters.....in Congress.

Oh, look - here's one now:

http://www.torontosun.com/2013/06/26/texas-re...

"A Republican state senator in Texas who sponsored a recently blocked abortion-restriction bill has some odd, and incorrect, ideas about how rape kits work.

In arguing against an amendment to her bill that would make exceptions for rape and incest victims, UPI reports Jodie Laubenberg said: "We have funded what's called rape kits that will help the woman, basically clean her out."

Rape kits collect potential DNA evidence from rape victims, but don't prevent or terminate pregnancy.

Laubenberg pushed a bill this week that would have banned abortions after 20 weeks in the state, and required all abortions to take place in surgical facilities, effectively shutting down most of the state's abortion centres.

But because of a lengthy filibuster by Sen. Wendy Davis, the vote was ruled too late for its midnight deadline Wednesday and didn't pass.

Davis stood for more than 10 hours straight without taking any food or bathroom breaks to block the vote."

Good thing ya'll have at least ONE 'high-information', not to mention highly motivated, one, in your abysmally misogynist State.

<quoted text>Roger that. In context, I thought it clear I was talking about the fact that no conservative apps were denied, since they were the alleged "victims", but it never hurts to be scrupulously accurate with the known facts. Leave the self-serving vagary and speculation to the wolf-spotter dweebs, right? Thx.
Gooda "see" ya, MaryCO of the High Country Far!
Good to see you too, buddy o' mine.
You were in context but there is always the little jots and tittles that add so much to the context. Conservative groups in the main were the target. It was far easier to consign them to bureaucratic Purgatory than to give reasons for denial that might just show their hand. The one lone Democrat affiliated group that got denied was so blatantly political that it couldn't be allowed the requested status. If the Conservative groups that ended up in a 3 year long limbo could have been so easily denied they would have been. That should say something about the nature of those groups. If they had been blatantly political they would have received quick denials. Instead they got the colonoscopy without the definitive results. A brilliant strategy for keeping leering eyes off the Obama Administrations strategery for thwarting Conservative leaning groups in the 2012 elections.

Let's talk low information Congressman. http://www.youtube.com/watch... at about 1:20
He is worried that the Island of Guam will tip over due to an increase of Marines on the island.

Then there is Colorado's own beloved (snark) Dianna Degette who said this "I will tell you these are ammunition, they’re bullets, so the people who have those now they’re going to shoot them, so if you ban them in the future, the number of these high capacity magazines is going to decrease dramatically over time because the bullets will have been shot and there won’t be any more available." (April 2, 2013, Denver Post forum)
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2013/0...

And meet Joe Salazar, another great Colorado Democrat who thinks campus safe zones are the way to curb violence on campus:“That’s why we have call boxes, that’s why we have safe zones, that’s why we have whistles, because you just don’t know who you’re going to be shooting at,” Mr. Salazar said.
He said he worried that armed women on campus could wind up shooting innocent bystanders.
“And you don’t know, if you feel like you’re going to be raped, or if you feel like someone’s been following you around, or if you feel like you’re in trouble, and when you may actually not be, that you pop out that gun and you pop around that somebody,” he said.

I'd rather someone be ignorant of what is in a rape kit. A rape kit is a rather banal object.

The young people I know who were Obama supporters are seriously troubled by what all is coming to light. Let's hope the enlightenment spreads before it's too late. The older Dems who supported him will not back down. Just like so many in this video they see it differently when "their guy" does it.

I don't think George advocated 'self censorship'. I think he was more in line with,'If they don't like it, F*ck 'em.'
Some time back, Willie pointed out the fact that George got his 'seven dirty words' routine from Lenny Bruce, who said they were words you can't say on the radio.
What I mean by the post is that giving one word that kind of power elevates them over everybody else, and that is more wrong than the one word.
Some think that I'm promoting racism, but all I'm looking for is a level playing field. Blacks, or whites, or any other ethnic group should never have that power over any other race.
and to quote my Mother In Law,'I mean That, too!'
IIRC Lenny's routine was the 7 dirty words you can't say in night clubs. He was arrested for obscenity for his nightclub performances all over the place (including SF and NYC), and by that time (late 50s/early 60s) television had replaced radio as the national medium.
